Since Storage Star bought them out a couple of years ago, hiring Max as the manager, I've had nothing but trouble with him. I am a 70 year old woman who stored the entire contents of my mountain home there in 2020 and who decided this Spring it was time to deal with my 5 units filled with furniture. My 77 y/0 handyman and I were coming in regularly to clean it up and organize it. I posted large, heavy furniture pieces on FB Marketplace, and would occasionally have someone follow me through the gate in and out, to pick up a piece that was too heavy or large for me to move, never giving out the gate code, and making them stop to allow the gate to close behind them. One day he called me while I was there and told me to "come to the office immediately". I felt like a school child being called into a principal's office. He was very belligerent, handing me a page showing the times I had keyed in and out, and I told him it was because I am going through my things and dealing with them, which I should have the right to do. He falsely insinuated I was breaking in to other units, and I asked him to provide proof, which he of course could not provide. I've never even gotten a ticket in my life, and am a retired para-legal. He then told me he was following my FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE POSTS which I was using to downsize, so he knew not only what I had in my units but also my home, which was valuable antique furniture and art. He told me I was not allowed to have anyone come in to help me unless they were on the lease, or to pick anything up that was heavy or large, obviously trying thwart my ability to downsize my items. He then tried to convince me to just give all the contents of my units to him to auction, (his keeping the proceeds of course) and that I wouldn't have to pay rent! This is highly suspicious and he needs investigating! I reported all of this to his supervisor, but he has not been fired as he should have been. Very unethical! Now I see he has been over charging me for my units to what is advertised online, and I was never given a senior discount! A few months ago, he suddenly tried to double my rent until I called the home office then he backed off! I wonder how many others he has done this to??

They were super helpful and the process was quick. The deposit is a value. The unit was clean. The area felt secure and safe. They do not take debit or credit cards, so that is the only reason I took off a star. It would be nice to be able to pay instantly from anywhere, but also setting it on my bank's bill pay works perfectly fine. Thanks so much!
