I live out of Pa. My father passed away and I filled out all aproperate paperwork per PENN DOT to transfer title of his vehicle to my mother. The associate that was working behind the counter proceded to inform my elderly mother that she was knowledgeable in this area and "helped" her fill out the title transfee. The associate might as well had been filling out a request for citizenship to Uganda as this probably would have been more accurate. It was clear in this senerio that the following occured 1. The associate potrayed themselves to be knowledgeable on the request to the customer 2. The associate misrepresented thier knowledge 3. The associate provided false information regarding multiple fees thats would meed to be paid (not true) 3. The associate took advantage of an elderly individual. I personally would not recommend Abels to anyone due to thier borderline fraudulent activities that they commited read more

I don't normally take the time to review businesses but I am today because we were treated so poorly by the lady at Abel Notary. She is in the business to deal with the public. Her inflammatory words and attitude were unappreciated and uncalled for! I would NEVER recommend this notary to anyone as they are NOT the only game in town. I don't know the employees exact title but based on other reviews I read I am going to assume the lady was the owner of Abels! How she stays in business just blows my mind!!! read more

From Title transfers to legal papers, I've used these people on many occasions. I've used other notary services and these people are just as good as any other notary service. What my wife and I have seen at Abel are people coming in and asking for things that can not be legally notarized. Such as the car Title change request but the owner of Title wasn't there. Excuses like, my uncle died, Title holder is out of town, etc. Who in the world would do a Title change without the Title holder standing there to acknowledge the change. Or the people wanting something done with their car but no proof of insurance. The excuses on this last one are always fun to hear. Me and my wife leave their feeling sorry for the workers and acknowledge that we would not be as kind to the fools who expect the notaries to do something illegal. read more

It was a frustrating experience as staff was not very helpful. I just got the impression that staff did'nt have much experience, training, and was lacking in knowledge. They refused to notarize my documents citing various reasons(I really didn't believe that they could not notarize my utility bills as address proof). I just felt there was no point in talking to them, and I made an impromptu decision to visit UPS. I'm glad I made that decision as it took less than 5 minutes for them to notarize my documents. I had a challenging situation, and ultimetly they were able to provide the services we needed. However, the staff member we had was not very welcoming of our questions and made us feel like we were wasting her time. Not a very friendly or positive experience. I would suggest checking into Runkles notary if you need these types of services in the York area. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! I went to have a document notarized and the clerk signs the paper but doesn't have her notary seal. No apology, still charged me, and the response I get is have the company to send me a new form for her unprofessional service. read more

The owner was helping me, but the other staff was fairly new and didn't know how to help her customer. She was asking the owner a question and she replied with "well what does it say, read it", which made the staff feel embarrassed. She read it again and still didn't know what to do and the owner huffed and puffed, looked at the paper and said "it's right here, READ IT!" The lady did again, but still had no idea!! Then the owner practically was yelling at HER own employee in front of customers! No wonder they always have hiring signs!!! The staff aren't getting the correct training, and the owner is nasty! If you want to keep good employees, train them the proper way and be kind!!! read more

I didn't even hire these people and they are already more hassle than what it is worth. I called the 800 # to ask for the mobile notary services. When I did I explained I needed someone to come to my property to notarize a car title. She said well we don't do that. I said so you aren't a mobile notary? She said yes we are. I said ok then I just want a basic quote for the notaries time. She then said we don't do that. Ok. So I explained what I need again and she said we can't come to your property during the day. I said I didn't ask you to come during the day as I can set this up any time It would work for everyone. She then asked where do you live. I said spring grove. She said we don't come there you called the Lancaster office. I said I googled mobile notaries in York and called the 800 #. She then cuts me off and won't let me finish my sentence to tell me that they don't have an 800#. I tried telling her I called 800-931-5712. However she was more interested in telling me about how she can't help me so I just hung up. If any of this sounds like a company you would like to deal with, you can call the 800 # listed above. Just don't mention you called an 800# because they don't have one. read more
