Nick came out to do an inspection, and in the process of doing so discovered some issues with our pipes and vents on the roof, some items that pictures made clear could quickly lead to serious damage if the wrong winds/rain came through. He showed us a detailed video of the inspection, then offered multiple quotes based on what approach we wanted to take. I appreciated how thorough and how efficient he was-- I've been in situations where at this point in the review an agent for a major company will only offer you the highest possible quotes and make them sound like an emergency and basically take as long as they can in your house to wear you down in hopes that you'll agree to the sell. Nick and Mr. Goodroof did NOT do this and this instantly won us over. We actually opted for a combination of two of the quotes/plans of action he presented, and he worked up a new quote for that. They offered a variety of payment options, including a 12 months same as cash option that you can apply for and access on your phone quickly. We scheduled the service and they had a crew out in less than a week to get the job done. They worked quickly and efficiently. There was some miscommunication on the quotes, plan of action, and updated responses (like the finished report detailing the work done, particularly important for us as the day of the work the approach shifted somewhat and we just wanted to understand why). We never doubted the quality of the work, but due to being burned in the past by other companies, had some reservations. We voiced those complaints and Nick + others at the company got back to us to go over and explain the situation. They explained the reason for the changes, the delayed updates (some due to automation processes on billing etc.), and sent out the crew + Nick (at a 3rd date) to do a final inspection and report. I'm going a "4" which in my book is "great". The price we paid for the work that was done was fair, the work was quality, and both the sell and final report were handled perfectly. Due to some confusion and crossed wires (that took about a week or so of going back and forth) that hindered my enthusiasm of the project briefly in the interim, I'm docking just the one star that would make this a "perfect" experience. I fully intend to use these folks again for some other tasks next year and I have every expectation that they'll bump up to a full "5" at that point ("perfect").

The new gutter they installed leaks at one of the seams and instead of two downspouts they only put one. But the kicker is they actually used my old downspout from the gutter they replaced. Which is smaller in diameter not sure how that made sense. My patio for the first time flooded out and almost zero flow to the old downspout. Should have just done it myself.

I had to seek out someone quick to fix the leaking roof! There was a dead space at the end of a valley where water had been seeping through for years. The wood was rotted & I called 5 companies to repair the valley & area. Andy & Nina came out within 20 minutes of my call. Got up on the roof & told me about the dead space & the reason it happened. Basically poor planning on construction. He noted the half-Azz job done at repairing the flashing. Explained that he would need to make a cricket there to help the valley drain properly. When he came off the roof he thought the roof age was 20 years because of the deterioration- it's only 12!!! Only 2of the other companies showed up for quotes, neither got up on roof. Neither said a word about what was causing the problem or how to prevent it. And BOTH were much higher than Kanga's estimate. While discussing our options we discovered another leak in rear where previous owners (AGAIN) failed to do contracted repair to a pipe boot - at this point with the knowledge we had of 2 known leaks, wood damage, drainage issues & the shingles not aging well. We decided to use kanga since Andy seem the most knowledgeable & honest. Plus he was very reasonable in his pricing. I called him again & asked for another quote to do the entire roof! He quickly got me an estimate- the pitch of the roof is REALLY high & he was able to get the square footage & pitch from satellite image of the home. We agreed to the job & Nina came out a few hours later to let me choose color of shingles. We signed the contract & they came out the beginning of the next week. There was an issue with distributer of the shingles in contract- but she was able to get the same color in a higher quality shingle at no extra cost to me. The workers showed up around 7:30am & began the process of ripping off everything. On the rear Andy said the whirl vents were to low so they would install them higher. We also discovered 2 spots over the soffits in rear that leaks were beginning- luckily no real wood damages. They couldn't finish the first day as they ran out of shingles. So they returned the following afternoon. They cleaned up walking areas the first day & swept with magnet for nails. The filling day they cleaned up much more thoroughly & made sure to go over all surrounding areas with the magnet. I can't express how happy we were with the whole process, Andy was on site several times throughout the day checking on things. The workers were very polite. This is how it should be by all companies!! BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!

We located Premier Roofing on the internet and it only took one call to get them out to the house. We wanted a premium roof and they put together a proposal for a GAF Timberline HD Architectual shingles roof system requiring 6 nails per shingle and premium GAF underlayment, edge trim, and ridge seal. The shingles are warranted to stay in place up to 130 mph. Chip and his team were easy to work with and did exactly what they promised to do, and more. Fast forward to December of 2023 when we experienced our first direct hit of a tornado in our 35 years of living here. Fortunately, the tornado lifted over the house as it passed, sparing us it's full force. We lost two 1/2 pieces of shingles that tore loose, leaving the other halves with nails on the roof. When I discovered one of the shingles and noticed where it came from, I called Chip and he sent Manny out to do a temperary waterproofing. The weather was sub-freezing and everybody had lost lots of their roofs. After the cold weather passed, Chip sent Manny out again and replaced the damaged shingles. He didn't charge us. This is a great roofing Company and I am happy to pass our experience on so others can benefit from Premier Roofing's excellent service.

The calamity that struck my house was the hail storm. It came with little warning and it was as disconcerting as it was brief as it was violent. When it was over, my screens were shredded and I had some paint damage. Seeing as that was all I could tell with my naked eye, I left it alone and kept it moving. That's when I noticed my neighbors getting roof assessments. I didn't want the headache so I tried to avoid it. But adulting doesn't let you skip out on the unpleasant things so I dove in to seeing what was what. Checking the Jelps, I found Bill Ragan and through Bill Ragan I found Chris. Chris was awesome. He walked me through what I could see and couldn't see. He had ladders, photos and information. He let me see that I sustained damage and needed a fix. When he gave me an estimated cost, I thought, 'I'm just gonna have to let this ride.' That's when he told me that insurance should cover it. Armed with that knowledge, I had an assessor come to the house. I was denied. Chris didn't let that be the end of the story. He convinced me to get an assessor second opinion. This time, he would be at my house when it happened. It did. He was. And I was approved for a new roof. The insurance company cut the check and I was on my way to a secured house cover. If I stopped the review here, it's an easy 5 stars. Chris was/is incredible. Unfortunately, Chris doesn't work on roofs. The crew came out (with Chris to introduce me to them and let me know what to expect) and they didn't share much of his ease, kindness or professionalism. They were unpleasant at best, rude at worst. A gentleman smoked a cigarette while he worked on my roof. The foreman was dismissive and unhelpful when I had questions. I texted Chris, who apologized, came on site and got the folks together but that wasn't his job. The job took two days and the install has held together fine (and the roof looks good). But being treated like trash in my own home is not something I take lightly. The crew did the work in mid-Fall. Thanks to climate change, it was still pretty warm out. Even so, I was preparing for my fall HVAC cleaning when I noticed a gap in the ceiling of my upstairs unit (in the attic). Not only that, connective piping from the unit had come undone in the roof work. I had a HVAC tech come out to fix the problem. He did so and showed me a few other pipe disconnections and gave me a horror story about carbon monoxide poisoning had I run the unit with the gaps and disconnections. Nightmare fuel. I texted the foreman. He went from unbothered to unresponsive. I went back to Chris who asked for photos, came out to inspect and brought Bill into the situation. Bill came out to my house, asked about what happened, listened, doubled checked the work (roof and HVAC) and covered the cost of repair. I appreciated that. And I appreciated Chris. But neither Bill nor Chris should have had to clean up a mess they didn't make.

Being approached at my job after the initial incident felt threatening and extremely unprofessional. No one should have to feel unsafe while simply walking their dog or while trying to work. Gathering bids from seven different companies (and thwarting many "ambulance roofers" who swarmed around my door after a hail storm) allowed me to compare sales techniques, price points, and products. Underdog differentiated itself from their competition by their attention to detail. Generally speaking, I found most roofing representatives presented a cookie-cutter approach to replacing the roof. However, Underdog's representative inspected my roof as did the others, but he noticed an issue regarding my chimney's siding and my gutters guards that other companies did not. He sat down with me, showed me pictures of my roof and meticulously explained their process of re-roofing, emphasizing their particular method of removing old materials and cleaning up.
