They have a deli, a candy store, a wine store a cheese store...plus a sandwich place and restaurant. You need kitchen stuff...they have it. How about some gardening? No problem. Want to get some fancy coffee or teas....okey dokey! A last minute gift idea? Head on over to the store!

Loved seeing all the new seasonal things and the way the smell of the coffee hit you as soon as you came in. My mother would buy a couple bags of an orange coffee that they would grind fresh and it smelled like those candy orange wedges she would always partake in the sample of coffee that was free as well. The hot sandwiches were good and my mom would buy meat from Germany there which she couldn't find any place else. I had my first cheese straws from the store. I tasted a lot of things for the first time in the store not being native to North Carolina. I always loved the fact that they had the option to build your own basket of food items and you could ship it out to someplace else. Every time I drive by where they used to be in Chapel Hill I miss them and I really hope that one day they rebuild their store. I just think at the time , it got to be that prices became too expensive that nobody was really buying things anymore so maybe if the market changes and prices lower they come back, one can only hope.

On this visit, there were two vendors offering free samples. Uhm, yes, please. One was a local distillery (https://giadistillery.com), and the other was Cîroc. GIA makes a grappa so good that it was voted the best luxury grappa in the world in 2021! Having lived in Munich before and spending lots of 3 day weekends in Italy via a short drive, I love grappa. Not knowing about this award,when I tried their grappa, it was heavenly. I picked up a bottle of the grappa along with a bottle of their whiskey. They also had bottles of their vodka, but that's not my drink; I leave that and gin to my wife. I'll visit the GIA distillery and do a full review soon. Back to this ABC store, there are plenty of helpful employees. The store is also very bright and inviting, which I appreciate. I don't like dimly lit stores. They are depressing. Some of the other items I picked up were a bottle of Travelers whiskey, a collaboration between the Buffalo Trace distillery, and Chris Stapleton, and a bottle of John A. P. Connelly whiskey. This is another North Carolina product. It's difficult to find their products in stock. I like the rye and have never had their whiskey. But they had two bottles of whiskey, so I grabbed one to try. They also had a bottle of Bookers on the shelf, which is also difficult to find. In fact, I've only ever found it here. 5 stars all day long.

I came here one day because they had Buffalo Trace, which is very hard to find, and I wanted to get some for my dad. While I was here, I discovered a vodka seltzer variety pack made from Dogfish Head. I love this brewery so I just had to try it! This is the only ABC store I've visited that had this seltzer as well as so many coolers. I appreciate being able to get a pack that's already cold after a long day at work.
