Three stars is probably being generous, but I do like the people at ABC. It's just, looking at the facts, this was 3-star at best service. It starts when my LG mini split system refused to turn on to heat the house. I call, and they send someone out immediately. Great! Dec 8 - Dennis comes out right away on a Friday. He determines a thermistor needs to be replaced, will order part and get back to me. Dec 18 - 10 days later, no word, so I ask how it's going. They're still trying to get the part. Jan 2 - Still no word, I ask again. "Supplier is a nightmare," they're going to check again. Jan 9 - It's getting pretty cold and we've had nothing but a wood stove to heat the house for the last month. Ask again - should be here next week. Jan 30 - Still no word. I check in with them again. "Good news, it should be delivered, we will check in (a couple hours)." Did not hear back that day. Jan 31 - I call, they schedule an appt. for the following Monday. Feb 5 - Max comes out. They quickly determine the problem isn't with the thermistor itself, it's that mice have chewed through the wire. They repair the wire, test it, works great, they charge me $450. To save money on electricity, and since the wood has been pretty good at heating the home, I set the thermostat to 64°. Feb 8 - I try using the heat for the first time since they fixed it and it won't turn on! Call them again. Feb 9 - They come out and find the fuse was turn around to the OFF position. I never touched it, I think there was just a miscommunication or something with the technicians. Anyway, he flips it over and I'm back in business. So 2 MONTHS, $450 to solder a wire back together. That was my experience with ABC. read more

Ugh for me having another appliance go out but A+ to ABC for still being around to help. Last night, I walked into my kitchen and found water on my floor around the dishwasher while it was running. I tried to diagnose on my own and had a few ideas for what it could be. I went online and setup an appointment with ABC and Dennis was at my door 12 hours later the next day. He solved the issue (drain pump clog) and did an overall check on the machine to make sure no other issues. In-and-out in about an hour and back to a fully functioning dishwasher. ABC made things easy and efficient at a fair price. What more can I ask for. As a follow-up to my prior review for my refrigerator repair from 2021: The new compressor is still working perfectly and even if it failed tomorrow it would still have been an excellent repair decision & price. My review has 2 parts. First part was the repair of my broken AC/furnace. last week my fan in my furnace stopped blowing my cold air through the house. I called ABC and they sent out one of their guys and he confirmed my suspicion that the fan motor had burnt out. he ordered me a new one and came back a few days later (over the weekend) and replaced it. It was good to have cold air again. After he left, I noticed that when the AC was on, the noise coming through the cents was much louder than before. I set to just FAN mode and the sound was normal. I suspected something wasnt right, maybe a something loose causing a buzz or drone when the AC was running. I called ABS and they were very accommodating and sent someone out t have a look. Unfortunately they came when I wasnt there and from what I was told by my other half .... they never really did much diagnosing and seemed keen to tell us that it was what it was... nothing they could do. So now to part 2 of the review... I called ABC again and as before they were very accommodating. I liked that. They sent out a new guy. Max was his name. He and another guy (didnt get the name) were very good. Max figured out what the issue was and fixed it. Sounds good again. Thanks Max. I would use ABC again .... as when I called they listened and stood by their work and made sure my concerns were taken care of. read more

We made an appointment for someone to check out our laundry machine. It was having a draining problem and would leave our clothes soaked. We were told it would be $70 for the visit, but they tried to charge us $150 when they came in person. I reminded them that we were told $70 for the estimate, and then they insisted that they charge us $80... Nick came to give us an estimate and he did not speak English. He only knew a few phrases in English and we had to primarily communicate with us through Google Translate. The visit took almost an hour and 30 minutes to diagnose our laundry machine. It definitely was not convenient for just an estimate consultation. After the diagnosis, he quoted us $300 to repair our drain pump. Nick visited again within the next 3 days and it took about 15 minutes to repair. In the end, our washer still wasn't fixed! IT STILL DIDN'T DRAIN! We had to call the guy back and have him visit a second time to fix it again... Ridiculous. A couple days after Nick came to visit, the washer started to leak as well! We had to tighten some things to stop this from happening. I highly do not recommend getting services done from here. read more

It's hit or miss with these guys. I hired them for a freezer repair a year or so back and they were very efficient and fixed the problem in one visit. This time around, my kitchenaid water filter wasn't working well and the pressure was really low. The technician they sent could not diagnose the problem and he asked me to replace my brand new filter with another new filter. He also tried changing a valve and that didn't fix the problem either. The whole time, he kept telling me that I should use my reverse osmosis filter near my sink and not worry about the fridge water. I told him i wanted to have the option of drinking cold water and to be able to make ice and he wouldn't relent. It didn't help that he couldn't speak English clearly or even understand what I was saying in English. I got a call a few weeks later from his manager and he said they would resend the technician and he now knew how to fix the problem. I asked for a different technician but they said the first guy they sent was the best one that serviced my area. Guess what, the technician shows up again and he's still unable to fix the problem and continues to give me the same advice on using my reverse osmosis filter and to talk to his office if I had more questions. In situations like this, I would appreciate if the company told me they can't fix my problem instead of replacing random parts and getting me to pay for unfinished work. read more

ABC Service did a great job of coming out fast, and communicating when they would arrive. They appeared to do a good job of fixing it. However, they apparently did a sloppy job with the replacement. Just over a year later and the fridge failed. When inspected, the compressor replacement was sloppy and leaking oil. The oil was pulled into the freon system, causing damage and overheat of the freon system. So I spent a thousand dollars with them to get a poorly done repair which forces me to replace the unit. EtA: notice that the owner leaves an insulting response. It was his technician who did a horrible job replacing it such that oil visibly leaks from the compressor. My LG refrig/freezer stop cooling. I had a variety of problems getting a competent repair company in a timely manner with access to parts. ABC came the day after I called and diagnosed the problem and came back the next day with a replacement new compressor. LG agreed to send them a replacement part for free and I have a functional freezer and refrig and will get a refund on the part once they have received! I will absolutely use them again for any repairs I need. I recommend them without reservation. You get what you pay for promptly and timely! read more

Dear Owner, your repair person does a diservice to you. Instead of working with the customer, he schemed against the customer. Like a taxi driver who cheat the customer that travels a route more than the driver does. Treating your customer like a person to be taken advantage of is not the way to do business. Needed help repairing a washer Called these guys. I already researched the issue and the error code online and got the part. I had tried to remove the rotor but couldnt. The first thing Adam exlaimed is "You tried to fix it yourself?!" in a condenscending tone. I should have said Goodbye, no thank you right there. He took lot of pictures. Then sat in the back of the washer, checking his phone. Finally he emerges and proclaims that it needed a stator replaced. I told him I think the position sensor is what need replacing and I have it. If it didn't work then we'll order the major part. He frown and went back behind washer fiddling then told me I need the whole gear shaft assembly replaced because it's shifted inside and that it's not worth it because disassembling it and replacing will cost the price of the washer. ??!!?? After paying him the visitation fee and he was gone, I fixed the washer myself. I just needed that tightly screwed Rotor made loose. The sensor is less than $15 and the stator he wanted cost over a hundred. What does he have to lose to use the part I provide and charge me the whole hour service fee? Why not listen and get only the visit fee? Then on top of that claim that the WHOLE MACHINE need to be replaced. This part just plain feel malicious. There's no other way to put it. Say you don't know. Say you can't use the part I provide because you don't want to be responsible if it fails in couple days again. But Say you need to replace the WHOLE machine? plain attempt at shafting the customer. Epilog: 3/22/2021 Manager Alex came today with (forgot his name) a more experienced technician. They tested the washer and confirmed that the washer is in good working condition after my sensor replacement. I appreciate Alex for coming and willingness to admit mistake. I emphasized that misdiagnosis happen, but not even testing the sensor is not. read more

These guys were life savers! Our household had a front-loading washer that broke down Saturday morning. The washer sees heavy use, so even a few days of down time is a huge inconvenience for our family. By Saturday afternoon, I called several places, and ABC Service turned out to be the first ones who had technicians that could come over late in the day. They showed up early in the two-hour window that they specified, and I described the problem to them. Although the problem seemed too serious to me, they were confident that they could fix it right then and there. Just over an hour later, they finish up, and my washer once again works like a charm! Now I don't know if they provided the best value, but I didn't care. I was ready to order a replacement washer, and they saved me the cost and hassle of having to do so. **they nickel and dime you** I have used this service twice. Once on Aug 3rd, 2022 and then once again today Mon, Oct 31st, 2022 (2 months, 28 days later). In their invoice, they state "Warranty 6 Months." I initially contacted this company as my thermostat was broken and was not turning off after we turned on our AC. The guy came and said we needed a new contactor. We paid him $325.00 to replace it. We never used our AC again as it was not as hot. Now that it is getting colder, we turned on our heater. Same problem, the heater wouldn't turn off. I called them to come back as I thought I was still under warranty, according to their email. He said my thermostat is old and needs to be replaced. It's able to turn on/ off but unable to gauge the correct temperature. If we want to use the heater, we would need to crank it to 90 degrees. He then proceeds to charge us $96.00 just for coming out to tell us that our thermostat is old / needs to be replaced. When I asked him why he didn't tell us back in August, as it seems very much the same issue and should be covered under warranty. He said that he didn't need to check if the temperature gauge works, he just fixed the fact that it was turning on/off. Coming from a customer that has used many services in the Sunnyvale area, I am trusting you to be the expert. If I call about my thermostat being broken, I would expect the technician to make sure the temps are also working. I even asked him in August if it was working and he said yes. After a lot of back and forth, he still made us pay him the $96.00. It makes me upset to support companies that don't take pride in being an expert in their field and overall not being helpful to your customers. Now I will have to find another HVAC company to replace my thermostat. read more

Incompetent. Unauthorized. Do not fall for their positive reviews. Maybe they're fake. I had Arti come out and diagnose my fridge. Initially, from a cursory look, he said the evaporator fan needs to be replaced. So they ordered the part. I waited a few days to be told that their supplier has "cancelled" the order on them for no reason and they need to order the part again and will take 10 days. I pointed them to the GE website where they can get the part in 2 days. (they should know that!). Then Arti came out the 2nd time with the part and this time he says the evaporator fan is fine. It's the refrigerant that's leaked and they can't fix it, I have to call GE. Now I called GE and their tech came out after 2 weeks, only to find out that Arti had added an un-authorized "Tap" on the refrigerant line and it's no longer serviceable by GE. They will not touch it. I called back ABC and spoke to Ray. He washed his hands off what Arti did. I told him they should have let me know if something they're gonna do is irreversible and going to void the warranty. He refused to accept any responsibility for his company and he was belligerent about it being my fault and that I should've told him that it's under warranty, so they'd be more "careful". This is a pathetic company, they'll come out very quickly initially, but incompetent after that. read more

Post my earlier review, I was contacted by their Senior Technician Ray. He is much more soft spoken and delivers news about the potential issues and fixes all up front. He offered at no additional cost, review the work that was done, and examine any other issue the previous technician may have missed. We have since ran 2 cycles w/the dryer and all appears to be running as normal. I want to say my experience with Ray was significantly better, and I would leave a 5-star review if he was first technician that had visited. I appreciate that he was able to communicate quickly, address the issues and make my experience with ABC Service more enjoyable. read more

I have requested a refund of the $80 as they haven't been able to commit as promised. We got great service from ABC! We had two separate issues with our fridge and they fixed them both. A few months after they helped us the first time, we were mistakenly convinced that their work resulted in a separate issue so they came back and found the real problem within a few minutes. The technicians were polite and handled our things with care. They were meticulous in their work and spent as much time as was necessary to fully resolve the issue (which was hours in one case because they had to defrost all ice and also clean the dust out of the components of the fridge).
