Short review: I eventually got my propane refilled (Oct 2022) but never heard from the company…read moreagain for follow up work (as of Jan 2023). The driver is really the only reason they're even getting 2 stars. Prices are pretty much the same across the board. You can probably find a better company to give your money to. Long review: Initial phone call to setup service was November of 2021 (yes, 2021) for a 29 gallon OWNED tank. This company had filled the tank for the previous homeowner for at least the 4 to 5 years prior, if not more. The homeowner passed away. No gauge on the tank, so I had no clue if it was full or empty. I just wanted it filled (if it was empty) or them to tell me it didn't need to be filled and move on. They needed me to create an account and give them my social or I could pre-pay. Cool. I'll pre-pay. Never heard back. I call other companies in the area to refill this tank and turns out those companies are even worse and even more unwilling to take my money. Move forward to September 2022 and the tank is now 100% empty, so it turns out it was full in November of 2021, I guess. I again, call the 3 companies in my area that handle propane, including Eastern Propane. No reply from any of them. It really makes you wonder. I wait a week make all the calls again, this time when I call EP I get forwarded to a different number after speaking to their 'answering person' (I don't know how they have it set up). I spend a good 25 minutes regurgitating my frustrations over the past year and they assure someone will be out. Five days go by and not a peep. At this point, I'm just ready to buy a brand new tank from whomever can show up first and be done with it all. Finally get a phone call, "they'll be out tomorrow at some time to fill your tank and they'll need to come inside to do a leak check, etc." The driver (I can't remember his name) shows up at 8am on October 7th, 2022. He's very cordial, understanding and CAN believe how ridiculous it's been to get this tank refilled. He tells me that he has worked for these other companies and it doesn't surprise him. While he's filling the tank he tells me that he's only going to fill it about half way because they'll need to replace the tank with a new one due to it's age. They'll come back in about a week to do so with a FULL, brand new tank and do the leak test inside the house when they do the swap. I won't be charged anything extra for the full tank, as we'll just be limping along on the little bit he's put in the tank currently. OK, that sounds great! After over a year of dealing with this it's amazing to FINALLY get some good news and some amazing positive help. He puts everything back together. I ask if he needs to come inside to do anything and he tells me that it's not necessary as the service tech that would be coming out would do it. OK. He packs up, hands me the receipt and leaves. Three months later. Zero follow up phone call. Zero follow up leak test. Zero follow up tank swap. No clue how much propane is in my tank, once again. In all honesty, they should get zero stars, especially for false promises and never following through. And the kicker is, they have the nerve to put that the tank is LEASED on the receipt.

I was told that because I wasn't an oil delivery customer they were not going to come out and service my burner. I reiterated this was an emergency that my system was down and was told they couldn't help me. I restated; "so you're telling me you are refusing to provide me service?" the receptionist very professionally said yes. Needless to say I won't be calling them for anything. She didn't even take the opportunity to get my oil business with a price quote. Steer clear of companies that don't put clients and their needs first. Shame on management for having an antiquated policy of terrible customer service

I would absolutely never use this business again. I called 3 weeks in advance for routine Furnance…read moreand hot water heater cleaning also mentioning that one radiator wasn't getting completely hot and administrative assistant said no problem she could add that to the service perhaps a valve needed to be replaced. In the three week period 3 other radiators were not getting hot either. Comfort solutions installed the unit from the previous owners and have done the maintenance for last 3 years- never a problem but this time they never showed up at 8:30 as scheduled so I called at 9 and someone said yes it shouldn't be long - he is on his way. It's now 11:30- no show then soon after noon the administrative assistant called and said oh there was a mistake with paperwork and no one is coming. I said I took the day off of work so it would be nice if you could send someone. Technician showed up, 7.5 hours late , very nice and professional but thought he was here to bleed oil radiators - I have natural gas and steam. He Took pictures of valve and said they needed to order them. No cleaning of Furnance or hot water heater took place but they did charge me 80 dollars to tell me I needed valves replaced that we already discussed via phone. One would think you would have these on hand since this was part of reason you were coming out and remember you installed the unit. Plus you were 7.5 hours late and I called YOU to see what was going on. I understand emergencies happen but this was your scheduling mistake and any service call fee should have been waived to say the least. I found another highly recommended HVAC guy / company through a friend - the guy called right back said oh it's an easy fix etc. and that he had the valves in stock but to send picture just so he could be prepared. He didn't ask for a credit card to hold appointment or charge me for a picture of the valve plus he asked what time worked best and if I had some heat to get by until he could stop by. Comfort solutions just made excuses : emergency calls for people that were with no heat, staff calling out sick, misplaced paperwork etc plus they said they only had documented one radiator wasn't working well guess what the other two stopped working in the three weeks before the appointment and I didn't have heat on second or third floor either. Oh then the administrative assistant suggested I have a neighbor let strangers in my house alone to do the service if I couldn't be there. Need I say more - please don't waste your time or money on this poorly run business!!

We recently had a furnace and water heater installed by Edwin Stipe and, based on this…read moreinstallation, I would never recommend them to anyone. Here's the story: Several years ago, Edwin Stipe replaced our A/C. We were happy with the install, and happy with the technicians who have been inspecting the unit as part of the service plan. This is why we chose Edwin Stipe for the furnace and water heater install. Tim Fleischood of Edwin Stipe came to our house and made recommendations for the work. It sounded reasonable, and based on past work, we went ahead with the job. One of the problems I had with the old furnace was the filter was located inside the furnace and it was always collapsing. Tim said no one installed the filter in the furnace anymore, and promised it would be on the outside in the ductwork. Installation day came. The workers were friendly and respectful of our property, donning booties to keep the floor clean as the brought equipment and tools in and out of the house. This is where the positives end. When the installation was complete, I discovered the filter was installed inside the furnace, just like Tim said it would NOT be. The workers said it would be OK and the filter would not collapse. I grudgingly said OK, and they left. When they left, they said someone would contact me for the permit inspections. The A/C was running and after a couple of hours I decided to check out the filter. I had to remove 4 or 5 sheet metal screws to access the filter (ridiculous!) and the filter was indeed collapsing. Looking at the installation, I noticed, among other things, the gas to the furnace was off. WTH? Clearly the furnace was never tested, and no one said anything about returning any time to turn on the gas or testing the furnace! There were also massive air leaks in the duct work where they had installed a transition piece for the new furnace. I contacted Tim, explained my frustration, and he said they would return. The same tech who did the installation returned (I hope he never returns again). He told me (believe it or not), it doesn't matter if there are air leaks because its in the house. What?? He had absolutely no answer as to why the gas was left off and asked if I wanted the furnace tested. Uh, yeah! The tech turned on the gas and ran the furnace for about 30 seconds. He cut a very jagged hole in the side of the ductwork, mutilated a filter because it didn't fit, and cut a piece of exhaust flue in half, straightened it out, and screwed it over the filter. I was livid! It was the worst hack job I've ever seen. I contacted Tim (yet again) and sent him a picture of what was done. He promised that someone would come out fix everything. A few days later, another installation team came out and installed a proper filter holder. They left and I thought all was good. After a month and a half, I contacted Edwin Stipe to ask if a permit was applied for, because no one had contacted me for an inspection. They said they had mailed the permit information to me and I would have to contact the township for the inspection. OK, but it would have been nice if they had told me that in the beginning! Well, today were the inspections, one for electrical, one for mechanical. The electrical inspector noted that the top of the 2 foot conduit was not supported and it should be. He said it was sloppy work and he would talk to the installer. He didn't fail it, since I said I'd support the conduit. The mechanical inspector noted that the exhaust for the water heater should have a minimum of 3 screws equally spaced at each exhaust joint. Of four joints, only one had enough screws holding it together. He gave me the option of him failing the inspection or I could add screws. I promised to add screws. As much as I would have wanted Edwin Stipe to return and complete the job to the point it could pass inspection, I really didn't want to schedule them to come out yet another time, and have to reschedule the inspection. Plus, I'm not really sure they would have done it correctly. So, zero communication, three visits to complete the installation, sloppy work, and an installation I had to complete in order to pass inspection. Would I recommend Edwin Stipe? Certainly not!

The service man came out and stated we needed a new upstairs heating and a/c unit. We just had the blower replaced three years prior. The gentleman told us the unit is getting ready to expire and he recommended a new a/c and heating unit at the cost of $16,000 to $20,000. We got a second opinion. Thank God we did. The unit is working fine. The gentleman that came out said there was a wire that powered up the unit was very loose and could cause the system to eventually not work. He repaired the connection. To date, we have had no issues with either one of the a/c or heating units. Note: the gentleman that came out to service our units were highly recruited by Edwin Stipe to work for them. People, beware of the scams that Edwin Stipe uses in increase their new unit installs to increase there total sales for the year!
