Do NOT rent from this property manager! We signed a lease on a property with Sheila, and the day we were supposed to move in, we went to pick up the keys and asked if the house had been thoroughly cleaned, to which she informed us that she had hired professional carpet cleaners, and that she herself had spent 5 hours the previous day cleaning the home. When we arrived at the home, we quickly discovered that it was NOT cleaned to any sort of professional standard. The discrepancies we noted included, but were not limited to: Crumbs all over the kitchen, the kitchen floor had not been properly cleaned (no evidence of mopping done), the carpets appeared to have had some sort of vacuum run over them, but it did not pick anything up. Pet hair, human hair, dirt, and glitter(?) were easily grabbed off the carpet. Worse, there were toenails left on the bathroom floor, and sewing needles on the carpet of the stairs. I shudder to think if my children had stepped on them!
We called Sheila to tell her we were not satisfied with the cleanliness of the house, and to ask if she would come do a walk-thru with us so we could point out what areas we felt were a problem. She immediately became extremely defensive and told us we were wrong, that it was in fact clean, and that we were being too picky. She also said almost immediately that she could see that we were impossible to please and could foresee continuous issues in the future.
All we wanted was the problem areas to be re-cleaned.
She was kind enough to refund us our deposit and rent, and we took our business elsewhere. read more
