They have a large roster of attorneys across the boros who are in court every day and share expertise. Few if any firms appear in NYC housing court as much as they do; very few seem to know the unwritten rules and rhythms. Work was split appropriately between staff attorneys and partners. One star was given, for one lawyer, who was the only "experienced" lawyer in the whole firm. His name is Edwin. However, he is over worked and has minimal patience. He was not able to provide the services that I needed so he used one of the new, inexperienced lawyers to work on my case. Not only are they inexperienced, but they have bad attitudes. As far as their work performance, I paid for a motion to be completed, and when I went to face the judge, it was discarded because it was written inappropriately. When I went to face the judge I was so embarrassed. I used them in the past and they did OK so that's why I am giving them 2 stars . But the last case they did make a mistake but we were lucky to get a default in judgement cause the tenant never came to court. The mistakes they made was in arrears . For a nonpayment case how you word the paper work is important . Mistakes like this can cost you. The reason why I am writing this is because as a landlord there is allot of confusion during this covid 19 moratorium in eviction. I called Robert Rosenblatt back in June 2020 and he said that it's possible to send a rent demand notice for nonpayment. My gut told me to wait so I waited and decided to call them today. I spoke to Mr.Hall a partner of Mr.Rosenblatt and he said it would be harassment if you send a rent demand notice . He was rude and angry on the phone. I asked him than when can we send a rent demand notice . Wouldn't answer me. If I went with Mr.Rosenblatt I would of been out of money and whose to say if my tenant would of counter sue. We paid Robert Rosenblatt to help us with a very challenging eviction where the tenant was destroying our property. After we paid him his fees, we got totally stonewalled. Would not respond to our emails, months would go by without an update and when we called, was rude and unprofessional. Even failed to show up in court. We called Robert Rosenblatt after being referred to him by way of AVVO. He asked us to email the judgment that we intend to appeal. When we called him to ask if he had received the judgment, he said that my husband's mother would be evicted by the end of the month and that there was nothing he could do. In the judgment we sent him, it clearly appears that my husband's mother died two years ago which proves that this lawyer cannot read! He also said he has sent us an email. As we had received nothing, we asked him to send it again. He then said (after he had said that he could do nothing for us) that he would only do so if we paid a retainer of 500 USD, although he says in his posts on this page that he always gives a free consultation in his office. I just called this office, as I was incorrectly listed as a member in a case, and the secretary that answered the phone was the RUDEST and most unprofessional person I have ever encountered over the phone. I just said one sentence, "Hi, I just had a question regarding a case that I was incorrectly listed as part of..." and she interrupted me and said, "OK STOP. CAN YOU JUST GET TO WHERE YOU'RE GOING. I hired his law firm on May 7 relying on AVVO rating but totally regretted afterward. I have a bad tenant who paid just 1 month rent and never vacated an apartment he has been subletting from me. Robert R. after speaking with tenant's lawyer convinced me he made an agreement that the tenant would vacate the apartment by May 31, and in return I need to pay his firm's fee and wave all tenant's debts. Despite the difficult decision, I agreed and paid $550 fee. In 2 weeks time I called his office and asked whether the agreement was signed by other party and Edward Hall, one of the lawyers in his firm, confirmed that they did, but on my personal visit on May 21 I found out that they never did. When I asked why they misinformed me Robert yelled at me, was extremely rude, verbally abused and refused to communicate. I had to communicate via Edward Hall most of the time going forward. On June 11 I called the law firm to confirm whether the tenant vacated the apartment according to the agreement and Robert said that he did and I should go and collect the apartment keys, but when I came to the apartment the tenant was still there and attacked me with the knife saying that he will never leave. I had to call 911 to protect myself and the tenant got arrested. I found out that Robert never got in touch with the tenant or his lawyer to find out if the apartment was vacated. He put me and my life at risk. When I asked and complained in regards to this matter he simply said that other party broke their promise and I immediately need to pay other fees for eviction warrant, as well as a motion for the money judgment, because the process takes 4-6 weeks. I paid another $700 for these on June 12 and in a 3 weeks time I called to law office to find out that they never processed with eviction warrant and motion yet, so I lost so much time again. Likewise, Robert and law office reaction was as if it was normal. Later, despite I told them that I would be away from the country, eventually, after a long time, they scheduled the court hearing date exactly when I am not present in the country. This was the last drop and I fired his law firm on September 12. Since I hired Robert and his law firm, in the period of more than 5 months, he could not provide the service he promised, constantly lied, insulted me, verbally abused, violating the Rules of Professional Conduct, breaching the professional ethics and morals, so now I am filing a complaint to Grievance Committee. Please beware avoid him and his law firm at all costs. read more

We used this attorney for a landlord tenant issue. We own a property in Brooklyn that has two tenants living in it illegally after they just stopped paying rent for no reason. The attorney started legal procedure to have the tenants move out. To make a long story short in the final hearing they found out they made a mistake. They told us it would have to be restarted and would take another 4 or 5 months to resolve. So after not hearing from them at all for months we called them to get a status update and were told that we filled out the original papers wrong. Only problem is the handwriting isn't ours. They are claiming it isn't theirs and that the attorney from their office that handled the case doesn't work there anymore. So they are refusing to do any more work on the case. They came recommended by a prominent Real Estate Attorney who is now no longer recommending them. We had a bad experience with them and from their responses we are getting from them we would never recommend them or use them again. Very poor attorney and poor customer service. read more

Called in the morning of the appointment to confirm (I had to drive 1 1/2 hrs in traffic to come in to see him), he confirmed personally and when i arrived at 1, (after driving around looking for a parking garage that was not full for 40 minutes), he tells me that he can only give me five minutes because he has a meeting with his lawyers at 1. Gives me five minutes, has me sign a paper, takes my check and then never responds to my calls....when he finally did, he yelled at me, talked over me, told me he had no experience with my type of law suit, never had a client like me before who asks so many questions, and that he was dropping my case!!!!! When i asked for my $1,000 back, he tells me that he should have charged me $400 an hour for all the calls I made to his office--none of which were returned! I am a Landlord with section-8 holdover i've been trying to evict for well over a year. A hired this firm to do the job in January 2012, i got an eviction judgement against the tenant in April 2012 it's now February 2013 and the tenant is still in the apartment. These people are very unprofessional the associate attorney's are either fresh out of school or don't know what there doing. I have had two other section-8 hold over cases in past years where i used different attorneys and it only took 6 months max to get those previous tenants out. I think these people purposely screwed up the case to ensure some type of payments for their court appearance. they also quote and Bill/send conflicting court fees in contract they indicate fees $125 but send $150 in mail.
