Two weeks after an absolutely horrible visit at a different local salon (feel free to read my review for that one...OIY!), I called Angie based on the positive reviews she has already received. She was very up-front about working on other salon's disasters and explained her pricing structure. I felt an immediate sense that "she knows her sh**" and I promptly made an appointment. During our first appointment, she was alarmed about the state of my nails...and rightly so, I'll add - they were in a dreadful state after going to a chop shop that calls itself a spa - hah! She professionally advised me that she could definitely help, although it would take some time to get them into "magazine quality" state. She took the time up-front to examine my nails thoroughly and explain what she would do. (I have never had anyone do that before!) It is now almost 4 months later and my nails have never looked or felt better and they are "almost" in magazine state. In my humble opinion, they already are amazing so I can't wait until she advises me that they are up to her standard. ;) Angie is punctual, professional and her salon is spotless! She has created a very welcoming and relaxing space and she truly cares about her clients and their well-being...I am not just a number or a quick buck. I was told they could do something similar to my reference photo which I was fine with. Instead of acrylic they did gel-x but I didn't say anything as I had assumed they were doing what they needed to do to provide me with something close to my reference photo. My nails were shaped and then i was told they didn't have the white color I requested but could do something close - which was a purple/silver color. I was fine with that but then when it came to doing the designs on my nails the girl who was working on me started using gel to create the designs and a man who I assume is the owner came over and redirected her to use gold polish to paint the designs on, so one hand had 3D gel designs and the other just flat polish. Half way through painting the designs on one hand they moved me to to the pedicure chair and the lady stood next to me with no light or anything and hand painted the designs which were super sloppy since they were done with her standing next to me and the UV lamp balancing on the chair armrest. She finished both hands of designs in 10 minutes, threw a top coat on and moved onto the next customer. At this point I noticed the designs were very messy but I really didn't want to make a fuss or cause a scene as there were so many people in there and decided I would reach out afterward when it was quieter out of respect for them. During my pedicure I noticed allot of gel built up under my thumb nail and several of my fingers to the point it was painful since it was pulling on my skin. I was unable to remove it, and there were customers in every seat as well as in the waiting area - trying to be polite and not make a fuss I finished my pedicure ( which was fine) and went to pay - the lady who did my nails could see they were not great quality and offered me $5.00 off my service so with the gel-x set and pedicure was a total of $230.00. After a while the nails were extremely painful from pulling on my skin, I went to Revive Nails Downtown. I just asked them to help me remove the excess gel to alleviate the pain - they took one look at them and were shocked at how badly the nails were done and were unable to remove the excess gel without removing the nails themselves. They removed the nails and did a fresh acrylic set for me that I LOVED. I didn't want to cause a scene with how busy Young Nails was and decided to message them on their website. I also gave them a call and explained the situation and asked for a refund for just the nails as they were not great quality for what I paid. they told me to come in and I could get my refund - once I got there the same man that rushed the lady doing my nails before informed me that since I had the nails taken off I couldn't receive a refund - although he could see there was way too much gel under the nails pulling at my skin from the photos I provided . So 130 dollars lost, and half my day. Do not go here, they rush their services to get as many people in as they can and don't really care about quality or detail. There are so many less expensive, cleaner, and kinder nail places in Kelowna. Revive nails downtown being one of them! Steer clear of Young Nail Bar ladies!

I took a picture before so I could compare to the after (which time stamped). During the facial, she held the LED light on one spot on my forehead for too long and it caused a burn. When I winced she took it off and I believe cooled it down in water, my eyes were closed so it may have been something different. Immediately after the facial, I took another picture ( time stamped) and had discomfort to the area. I thought it might resolve overnight, however it was still present the next day and I took another picture. I understand that many small businesses are struggling and I reached out to the team directly with the pictures and what happened. I requested an apology and a refund. Despite this, they did not believe me and wanted me to come in person. I live in a surrounding community and was unable too. They asked to meet over Skype and I was unable to at that time and provided an alternative time. They then told me they did not see it in person the day after it happened and would not refund me. They stated I needed a lawyers letter and they would process it through their insurance and see. It is very unreasonable for me to pay $500 for a lawyers letter to get a $120 refund. I understand that complications happen and I tried to deal with Bella Spa directly for an apology and a refund and they should extremely unprofessional behaviour. Save your face, go to one of the many beautiful spas in the Okanagan!
