Two weeks after an absolutely horrible visit at a different local salon (feel free to read my review for that one...OIY!), I called Angie based on the positive reviews she has already received. She was very up-front about working on other salon's disasters and explained her pricing structure. I felt an immediate sense that "she knows her sh**" and I promptly made an appointment. During our first appointment, she was alarmed about the state of my nails...and rightly so, I'll add - they were in a dreadful state after going to a chop shop that calls itself a spa - hah! She professionally advised me that she could definitely help, although it would take some time to get them into "magazine quality" state. She took the time up-front to examine my nails thoroughly and explain what she would do. (I have never had anyone do that before!) It is now almost 4 months later and my nails have never looked or felt better and they are "almost" in magazine state. In my humble opinion, they already are amazing so I can't wait until she advises me that they are up to her standard. ;) Angie is punctual, professional and her salon is spotless! She has created a very welcoming and relaxing space and she truly cares about her clients and their well-being...I am not just a number or a quick buck. She angrily said she'd do it for free - and I said that wasn't the point, the point is that I've never had a problem in all the years I'd been going here and when I do she's acting horribly about it. She told me about a min in to stop talking and I didn't say another word, but she kept going on about it for a couple minutes. Then she told me not to ask for her again. My friend who I'd brought in said she'd have snapped at her for being so rude, but I just didn't say anything else and left. Never going back. Adios. I took a picture before so I could compare to the after (which time stamped). During the facial, she held the LED light on one spot on my forehead for too long and it caused a burn. When I winced she took it off and I believe cooled it down in water, my eyes were closed so it may have been something different. Immediately after the facial, I took another picture ( time stamped) and had discomfort to the area. I thought it might resolve overnight, however it was still present the next day and I took another picture. I understand that many small businesses are struggling and I reached out to the team directly with the pictures and what happened. I requested an apology and a refund. Despite this, they did not believe me and wanted me to come in person. I live in a surrounding community and was unable too. They asked to meet over Skype and I was unable to at that time and provided an alternative time. They then told me they did not see it in person the day after it happened and would not refund me. They stated I needed a lawyers letter and they would process it through their insurance and see. It is very unreasonable for me to pay $500 for a lawyers letter to get a $120 refund. I understand that complications happen and I tried to deal with Bella Spa directly for an apology and a refund and they should extremely unprofessional behaviour. Save your face, go to one of the many beautiful spas in the Okanagan!
