Over the last year and a half years, I have learned so much more, not just academically but socially and discipline wise as well. Yes, the teachers can be very strict, but as long as you stay on top of your work and are respectful to those around you, everyone is kind and nice to each other. I have found that the people at Grace Baptist Christian Academy, both the staff and my fellow peers, have become like a second family to me, always supporting and being there for each other and always praying for each other. I highly recommend Grace Baptist Christian Academy if you are looking for a small school that teaches good morals and foundational education at a higher level and affordable price.

The art show is our favorite. They decorate the school with the children's art work and all the parents, grandparents, etc. attend. This is a great self confidence builder for the children as are so many of the things they do at the school. I'm not sure exactly what their teacher ratio is but they have 2 teachers per class and only about 15 children in each. In my opinion this sets the tone for the school as they are better able to provide individual attention to each child. My only request is that they provide a kindergarten program!

My son is a very kind, affectionate but emotional and sensitive boy. He has never laid his hands on anyone, and acts in kindness towards others even when frustrated. He was expected to be a perfect student at 3 years old. When he got upset or overstimulated, he would cry and take quite a while to calm down. Because of this he was KICKED OUT of school and was completely heartbroken. He LOVED his teacher Mrs. Susie, and all of his friends, and didn't understand why he wasn't allowed anymore. So unless you have a perfect child I don't recommend this school.

To be honest I have sat in class with my child for hours because I'm a paranoid social worker and learned that some of the staff are better with kids than with adults.The staff is balanced by a few veterans who have been there 10+ years. When I gave birth to my daughter I was lucky enough to have family who helped us take care of her. Once COVID hit I was not sure how I felt about putting my daughter in school but knew that she needed interaction with other children due to how shy she was and how upset she would get when my husband or I would go to work. Once my husband and I walked into Smith Mills Preschool we knew in that moment that they would be the ones who we trusted with our daughter. All the staff at this school are AMAZING and make you and your child truly feel welcome and at home. Once being enrolled my daughter has blossomed from a shy little girl holding my leg each morning to giving me a kiss and not noticing I'm gone at drop off. This shows me completely that my daughter feels safe and loved here. At pickup time she talks the whole way home about her friends, teachers and activities. It just warms my heart how loving, compassionate and open armed this whole school is. I hope each and every person who has come into contact with my daughter knows how truly grateful we are to them for taking care and treating our daughter like one of their own. They will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

The children participate in educational activities everyday while engaging in, the most important aspect developmentally appropriate for a 2 and 4 year-old, "play" and socialization. The boys participate in multiple fine motor activities, games, finger plays, circle time, music, dancing, and a wide variety of arts and crafts. As a National Board Certified Teacher myself with 13 years of teaching experience I highly recommend Three Bears to any family.
