Finally, I really appreciate the level of individualized communication from the teachers. We get an information sheet about his day at pick-up. In addition to what you might expect (times of diaper changes, length of nap, etc.), there is always a rundown of his daily activities. My spouse and I love reading through these in the evening - the teachers clearly pay attention to our son. I love hearing about how great of a day he had and that he was all smiles. We also receive emails over the weekend letting us know of the many events going on. I very much appreciate how he is treated as an individual and how much his teachers clearly care.

Between offering additional resources for her in the classroom to attending IEP meetings on their own time, the teachers at Child's Play have played a vital role in our daughter's growth and development. I very clearly remember an easel with an image of a cow. Attached was a glove full of water with a hole poked in each finger with a bucket underneath. I remember being so excited for my turn to milk the cow. As an adult (and parent) I think, wow that was really creative and kept us entertained for hours. I also remember sitting at the table for drawing time and the "teachers" were so gentle and kind. You can tell when people love their job. These people loved helping us draw bears and dogs. They show deep understanding of their students' individual needs and consistently treat them all with immense care and compassion. My children adore all three of their teachers. While the warm, caring environment is where ESNS shines in our eyes, the way they teach students is also remarkable. Many schools learn through play on paper, many learn to play in action as well, and do a great job of "tricking" kids into learning. Somehow though, ESNS tricks me, too. I rarely see the academics happening and suddenly my child comes home and knows how to write his name and his brother is telling me which two words rhyme. Their learning through authentic play, wholesome approach to teaching critical social-emotional skills, and opportunity for students to build advocacy and have choice are among the many reasons East Side Nursery School has been so fantastic for our family.

They are patient and dedicated and committed to caring for each child as an individual. We are thrilled with the way this school allows our child to be herself while supporting her growth!
