ABC Wine & Spirits has most of what you'd need from a local wine and alcohol store. The selection is convenient for everyday purchases. Prices are average, sometimes pricier than Publix. Nothing amazing deal-wise. Cigars sold as well. Cold beer available in a walk in freezer. Store is clean and organized. But Can't really compare this place to Total Wine. read more

I stopped in today around 11:30 AM and had a really disappointing experience. I asked the first employee I saw, who referred to himself as the "wine guy," if I could break a $10 into singles. Instead of a normal response, he immediately acted dismissive and said, "we are not a bank," then completely looked away from me. I understand this isn't a bank, but there's no reason to be rude about a simple question. I even pointed that out to him, especially since I've spent a significant amount of money here in the past. The lack of basic customer service and respect was surprising and unacceptable. If this is how customers are treated for asking a simple question, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Had a 75 dollar gift card. Selected 71.11 worth of their product. The guy said 3.89 left on card but it wouldn't accept the card as payment!! They argued with me called IT And couldn't resolve. We argued longer and no resolution on my behalf. I had to leave without the product and they took my number and name which they probably threw out. DO NOT shop here .. terrible people working here.. The store is beautiful but the staff is generally rude and unhelpful. I don't drink or buy liquor often so I don't know one from another. When I asked them questions they gave one word answers. Even when I said I was unfamiliar, then I got 2 word answers. The only time they were super helpful was when a manager (regional maybe?) was there and I was buying lots of liquor for my sons wedding. First let me say I gave it three stars only because they had what I needed . The staff are a bunch of assholes especially the cashier. He wrapped up a bottles of wine and I reached to put them in my cart and he shook his head and said " I'm not done yet " in a real condescending manner. Pretty ludicrously large selection of wine and liqour, some top shelf choices but nothing exotic, i.e. they have a few popular single malts but none of the hard-to-find scotches, e.g. Macallan yes, Glenmorangie no. Normally I really like this place, although employees have a weird habit of slamming things around. (It's fascinating, perhaps passive aggressive job hatred. Don't know). I do know what I drink--white wine. Discovered that you can order wine and they'll deliver via FedEx. I did that and found that 4 Argyle Pinot Noir somehow made it to my order. It was on the enclosed packing slip, but not on my order. Some employee deliberately substituted my whites for reds. It wasn't the right winery, where you could understand the slip up, or four bottles of Pinot Noir vs Pinot Gris because I didn't order four of anything. I've given them every benefit of the doubt and can't come up with a way for it to happen accidentally. So, ABC on Glades/441, how did that happen? (Argyle is a good winery just not what I ordered). And you charged me for four bottles I didn't want. Do I get my money back? read more

Overall? Good. If you need a quick 6-pack of beer or a decent bottle of wine, it's fine. 6-packs are at least $1 more than at Publix. They also have large, single bottles of varying types of ales & beers, all fairly pricey. I've tried a few, they've been fine, but I don't often pay $8-10 for 16 oz of ale. I'm strictly an IPA drinker, so they usually have something, but for as large as they are, a bigger selection would be appreciated... although, 3/4 of the store is wine, so that must be the bulk of their sales. The young women at the check-out are professional & pleasant. Someone below said that they're not conversant as far as making suggestions & I believe that's as they don't know about the products, they're strictly cashiers. I've asked for recommendations before & they always say they don't know. It's not a big deal to me, as I generally stick to my favorite IPAs. If you want help with wine, the owner is usually there to help & he knows a lot about wine & seems to enjoy talking about it. Extras? They also have a small glassed-in cigar room in the front & there's usually someone in there when I've visited... they seem to carry a fair amount of product. There is a small deli case in the front of the store for pricey, last minute cheeses & salamis. Parking right outside is convenient. There are plenty of spaces & they're wide to accommodate SUVs. They have shopping carts right outside the door, if you're buying cases. Verdict? It's a solid place, nothing extraordinary & nothing awful... there's often a line or 2, but they move quickly & instantly open another register, if needed. To save a few $$, I usually go to Publix for the same IPA, unless it's a time of day when I know the long lines in the market are less appealing than paying an extra $2. No longer the only box house in town. In truth, this USED to be my favorite store. Close to home/office and with a decent selection - it was my go to source. I now find myself driving further (considerably!) away to TOTAL WINE because of their selection and pricing. Mind you, ABC is amazing compared to the typical wine shop. They've bargain items as well as the top shelf product. However, and while the staff is great, the sheer volume at TW outstrips ABC's merchandising efforts and, on that alone, a trip usual yields not only incredible "finds", but experimentation due to the buying power and size of their competitor. If you know what you are looking for and need to do a surgical strike for commonly found beer or spirits in West Boca, than this a great choice. My local beer run spot which serves its purpose, to get beer. The staff never really initiates conversation like I'm used to in more liquor stores. (Star, Total, etc.) I always like to talk and get recommendations on new stuff to try, but I usually wait for someone to ask me if I need any help before getting into this conversation. Being a craft beer drinker, this store does NOT have a very wide selection but they do carry the more common craft brews. If your looking to grab a quick bottle of wine, a bottle of liquor, or a case of beer and already know what your looking for, ABC serves its purpose well. A mildly decent alternative after Total Wine. Their selection is fine, but let's cut the sh*t, their selection is inferior to the Home Depot of Wine & Beer, that is Total Wine. Their prices are also more due to the fact they're not being in the same amount of volume. As a consumer, we care about three things, selections, availability and price. If you're in need of scooping up a bottle of wine right before dinner, then ABC will serve you fine. This location doesn't have the most friendliest people working there, especially the older manager who looks like the guy who managed Ivan Drago. He always has a remark about how much better his store is, yet why am I spending $4 more for this Cigar City bottle of beer? When I told him the reality, he said "well you don't have to buy it." You're right, I don't and you don't have to be such a commie d*ckhead either. Don't tell me why your pinot noir selections are better. Just put on a smile and guide me to that area and I'll decide. I can learn more from watching Sideways than whatever crap you're trying to sell me. This isn't Inception pal, I'll make my own choices. You and your inflated ass prices can chill. I do understand that when we have to work on the weekend it might bring a not so sweet taste to our life. That being said as far as running/managing a store you must put all personal feelings aside and greet your customers nicely, welcoming your customers should be the first thing on ur mind. Thanks to high paying customers the service industry still exists!!! Other than that we are never impressed with the variety on their beer. Having them behind glass doesn't really let the customers appreciate the merchandise. I don't think i will return, specially when the staff is so sad and unwelcoming. read more

My husband and I frequented the Boca Raton location regularly up until now. Yesterday, we purchased items totalling over $200 for a party . One of the items (a $50 bottle of tequila) had a notice under it; buy two save $6. We purchased two of this item and the savings did not ring up. When we questioned the cashier, he said you had to purchase one bottle of the tequila and a bottle of Titos vodka to get the discount. To not hold up the line, we paid, then my husband went back to double check the sale ticket. No where on the notice did it say purchase vodka (only buy 2 save $6.00). We were ready to leave - and eat the $6 -but on our way out we informed the cashier that he may want to check the notice since it did not mention you had to purchase vokda. He gave us a disgusted look and rolled his eyes, which only then angered us! Now, rather than leave we asked to speak with the manager. The snotty cashier referred us to the Asst manager who then went to get the manager. The manager did not have the decency to come out to speak with us, but sent his Asst back to tell us 'it's not our fault the vendors put those up, you have to buy a bottle of tequila and a bottle of vodka'. First off, his attitude explains why his employees are so rude and secondly, if he was a good manager he would have given us the $6.00 off even though his advertisement was incorrect. We will not return to ABC liquor again but will drive the extra few miles to another liquor store. Very poor customer service at this Glades Rd in Boca location read more
