We arrived around 7:30 p.m. and found the place very busy. The place was small and had six tables that could seat up to 25 people. Thankfully, we found an empty table, so we sat down and grabbed a menu from the cashier. My friend recommended chicken paratha rolls, so we decided to order four of them (two with green chutney and the other two with red chutney) and a chai. While waiting, we shared the chai. It was hot and fresh, with a blend of spices to warm us up. After a few minutes, the cashier called our order number and my friend went to the front counter to pick it up. The chicken paratha rolls were delicious- the chicken pieces were juicy and succulent, the chutney added a nice small spicy kick, and the paratha was soft, crispy and chewy. The portion size of the roll was large, so I was only able to eat one (and took the other one home). If you are in the Scarborough area, I highly recommend checking this place out!

If you eat enough ramen around the world, this is pretty average but priced higher I guess with no competition around. Also you pay the premium for the ambiance. Would be nice if there was an extra slice of pork. Also bad pork donburri and could use a little bit more meat/rice. Chicken karaage was nice and crispy and came out hot. Staff are super nice and do a good job. I'm only giving this 4 stars as it could be better value for the price (I don't mind paying but at least make your portion sizes bigger...it's just noodles and rice). $70 for two pork ramen, one pork donburri, one chicken karaage which covered tax and gratuities.

There was a Crosstown Craft Barbeque (CCB) popup that I wanted to check out. I did grocery shopping to roast a turkey for Easter and more. This popup started at 1 pm. I got here at 2 pm. I parked on the street. All parking spots in front and on the side of the building were taken up. I walked in and noticed the long line for CCB. I lined up. It was risky coming so late. This place has something like twenty different varieties of beer on tap. I got to witness this awesomeness while I waited in line. The bar was busy, especially with the Canada-Finland women's hockey game on. This bar-eatery-brewery is spacious. There is a lot of seating to accommodate popup and regular customers. Sure enough, there were maybe five customers in front of me when we got word that all meats were sold out. I was oddly not as disappointed as I should have been. I knew that my late arrival would have consequences. There were sides available, which made me happy. The owners felt bad about running out of proteins, so anyone in line got free banana pudding. I got the following items: - Smokey beans - Potato casserole - Banana pudding I paid for the first two items with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got my items in a plastic bag. I was happy and headed to my car with my goodies. For lunch, I ended up going to Wendy's to get some protein to compliment my sides. I just realized that I went crazy for beans, as I got chili from Wendy's. The smokey beans lived up to their name. They were smokey. I loved them. It had three types of beans, either pork belly or bacon, and the best smokey sauce. The flavour was perfect. The potato casserole was excellent. It had cubed potatoes in a creamy sauce with green onions. It was like a baked potato, but without bacon and in casserole form. So good! The banana pudding was yummy. It was naturally sweet from the ripe bananas in it. I liked the nutmeg in the pudding with bread pieces here and there. Having this dessert made me happy. It was great stopping to check out Brunswick Bierworks with the CCB popup. I hope to return and try the menu at Brunswick Bierworks and have a beer. (146)

My wife and I have been here a couple of times now and got: - Beef bulgogi bento: Beautifully presented, really tasty, great sides. The beef was tender and properly sweet. And as with the other bento, great sides and presentation. - Torched salmon dragon roll: Heavy and packed, pretty tasty, though would have liked the salmon a bit more torched. - Shrimp tempura: Standard and pretty good. Overall, the bentos are easily the standouts. That said, Hanamaru's other offerings are pretty good too. We'll definitely be back to try their other stuff.

I like to have a nice amount of the pink pickled beets (I think that's what they are?) for sourness, which plays well with the roasted dark flavor of the meat and garlic in the hummus. The bread was just a touch thin and kind of fell apart, but that was fine as the paper held the wrap together. If I were to be picky, I would add more onion and perhaps offer a side of garlic sauce. Totally yummy and I'd order it again! Service - there was one woman taking the orders and serving the food. You pay at the counter, and she brings the food to you on non-disposable plates. There is non-disposable silverware wrapped in napkins at the table. Once she drops off the food and pitcher of water (with paper cups), you are on your own. There's no checking to see if you need anything, but I suppose you could always walk up to the counter to ask for something. We were the only people in the restaurant the entire time. Ambience - Some Middle Eastern art on the walls, just okay. Kid friendly for high chairs, but we didn't have a chance/need to visit the restrooms. Parking is ample, as it shares parking with the mini-mall and grocery store. About the bakery - If you're coming for the bakery, don't bother. The bakery is around back and is dark, stuffy, and tiny (the size of a large walk-in closet). It didn't appear to have many ready-made items, and seemed more like a convenience store for Middle Eastern food, with some bulk items. I wonder if perhaps they do more catering orders, but I didn't see menus on the counter. The bakery had several cookie-like and small flaky items, which is nice, but I had no idea what I was eating. The sales clerk didn't know what the items were either, so CAUTION if you have food allergies. At $3.99 a pound, it wasn't horrible, but I didn't find pastries that I'd order again.

The interior décor is a feast for the eyes, it is covered with murals and discreet paintings. I took a few minutes admiring the art. Orders are placed at a servery style setting at the back of the restaurant and you pay in advance for your food. However, they provide all utensils and anything else you would expect in a sit down restaurant. So it's a definite mix between a sit-down and a take-out setting. My friend and I were fairly new to the offerings presented and asked questions about some of the dishes. The staff were so kind, they gave each of us a small plate with samplings of a couple of the offerings to help us decide. We both quite enjoyed the mild yet exotic flavors presented to us that we ordered a larger portion of what we had just been given. Single serving portions are quite filling and I brought the leftovers of mine home to enjoy tomorrow, as did my companion. Everything was great with our meal until I bit into a hot pepper (at least that's what we think it was). It just seared my mouth and I found myself drinking tons of water over the next couple of minutes. My companion who has a much higher tolerance of spicy, had a similar experience a few minutes later and she confirmed that it was overwhelming even for her. However, aside from that, the meal was a real treat. Price is amazing! The total for the two of us including drinks and tax was less than $20. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. They could be a bit speedier in cleaning tables after customers leave; however, that was a minor concern and it was easy to clean the table off ourselves.
