The website SUCKS and I'm unable to make payments as I want to. There's a limit on additional principal payments that IS NOT DISCLOSED anywhere on the website. Regardless, this branch, specifically, applied my payment incorrectly and REFUSED TO ISSUE A RECEIPT with my updated balance. They gave me a slip that says I gave a certain amount in CASH (not a check, not a debit card, but actual cash). Why can't you confirm my updated mortgage balance when you don't have to wait for a check to clear? The teller (LXSAUC1 is her ID number) confirmed to me verbally that my payment would be additional principal. Instead, she applied it as a prepayment of my next payment (how convenient that I pay them the FULL INTEREST AMOUNT A MONTH IN ADVANCE.) Stay away! They will do whatever they can to take your money and use it to THEIR BENEFIT.

Ironically, this is not my "base" chase bank; but it is the Chase bank that I "prefer" to do all my business at! If you are like me, and need to depend on "people" rather than "a bank"; I highly recommend this branch to do all your "in-person" banking! That was not a "dig" on Chase banks, I like most every Chase bank branch (except the chase branch in Skokie on Dempster & Keeler; that branch is a nightmare! Keeler is the only Chase banking branch that strives to say; "No!" and feels pride in having power over their customers!), What's different about this Bensenville branch? The tellers/cashiers: They smile... They are polite.... And after a few weeks of banking with them, they are even friendlier and remember all the little nuances about how I prefer to deposit, withdraw and even the denomination of bills I prefer! They are people, not bureaucrats! The karma at this branch is "We strive to say; "Yes!" The best example would be that, , if I need to do something that may be "an exception" or "beyond a teller's scope", the employees there will say something like; "I can't do that, but can you hold on a minute so I can talk to the manager..." In other words, all the employees here are "proactive!" and positive! IN THE RED   Even if…read moremy checking account is firmly in the black, this irksome branch of U.S. Bank has me seeing crimson.   A brief search on Google maps reveals an abundance of U.S. Bank locations in the western Chicago suburbs, some of which are ATM's inside other businesses (Meijer, Target, etc).  This standalone building is at the intersection of Mill Rd & Lake St, in Addison.   This is one of the ONLY banks I've seen that doesn't have a drive-up ATM.  Yes, they have one inside the bank (which was broken on at least one occasion), but that means getting out of your car.  And on days when it's snowing, icy, raining, the last thing you want to do is exit the confines of your warm, dry vehicle.   (by the way, I realize that statement sounds a bit privileged, like "oh poor baby, you had to be outside for a minute".  But you know where that problem doesn't exist?  Nearly every other bank on the planet)   Because there's no way to "quickly" get cash here, you'll have to leave the car and go inside the little antechamber to use their ATM, or manually fill out a money withdraw slip like a CAVEMAN and airtube it over to a drive-thru teller.  Convenient?  Not in the slightest.   Also, the parking lot situation isn't great.  There's a random speed bump (drag racing deterrent??) connecting their lot to the adjacent Caputo's lot, and there's no easy way to leave (a left turn onto Lake St is damn near impossible due to the angle the street's at).   * TL;DR *   Compared to literally hundreds of others, this U.S. Bank just plain sucks.   When it comes to my finances, I'm all for ease-of-access, and this location is wretched in that department.  I'm shocked that in 2022, they haven't made any attempt to modernize by adding a drive-up ATM.  Get with the program, guys!   Not that it factors into the rating at all, but during one visit there was a hobo napping in the rightmost teller lane......who I almost ran over.  That was a first.

My husband and I recently got married and we are trying to have one bank account, he really likes LCU so we compromised and decided to stay with them. Today, my husband tried adding me to his account so we both can manage our money, and guess what- the representative denied me. Why? Because she said I needed a piece of mail that matches my ID. I tried explaining that I don't receive mail I only get all my bills through online. Apparently that's not enough. I pulled up my utilities bill that had my full name AND address, I even went a step further and showed her my ID. She still said no. It's 2017, people rarely receive mail. LCU really needs to update their system and allow their customers to show online statements. They get our money but when you want to even touch your own money they make you jump through all these obstacles. Thanks LCU. Never recommending this credit union.
