DO NOT USE ABC Appliance Rescue unless you welcome sitting all day, waiting for the scheduled repairman who NEVER shows or calling the company, only to hear your frantic calls roll to voice mail (when they already have your deposit money for "parts," but never show up to install them & never call to explain why). We dealt with them last year with no problems. This time, despite knowing the make/model of ice maker that had died, they arrived without the right part, collected a check for $112.50 to order same & promised to return 3 days later & install it. Well, here it is, three days later. They never showed up. They will not take our calls. No response to text messages. No answer to an email. But THEY DUD RUSH TO THE BANK TUESDAY AND CASH OUR CHECK. So at least we know they are alive. SAVE YOURSELF & YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY. Call another, honest & reliable refrigerator repair company or order the replacement part(s) online and do the install, yourself, if you can. read more

I saw someone in a neighborhood group recommended Robert as affordable and fixes whatever the issue may be. So I decided to call him to have him come out and see if he could figure out why my washing machine was leaking every time I washed clothes. Well first bad impression was he told me he would be at my house at 12:00. Didn't show up until 1:15. Then he removed the panel looked at everything and said there was no leak anywhere (did a spin cycle). I showed him that there was water in between the water heater and washing machine and he told me it was because my floors weren't "leveled" and that it would happen if I did a LARGE load of clothes. Well one we didn't do a load we just did a cycle, and two I have lived here for over TWO years and this never happened. He left and I asked my roommate to run a "small load" to see if water was leaking. Once again water WAS leaking. I called Robert to tell him and he said that he checked and nothing was leaking. I asked him to come back the next day to see if we could figure out where this leak was coming from. I had to call him the next day, and he said there was no leak. I told him that he was very unprofessional as he cashed in my check the same day, and didn't seem to care that my washing machine still was leaking. Well today i opened up the panel and ran a load to find out water was leaking from the MOTOR. I would NEVER EVER recommend this company to anyone! Very unprofessional. read more

I had a very costly and unpleasant experience with Robert Perez the owner of ABC Appliance Rescue. I called him to install a washer and dryer. Unbeknownst to me, he never connected the drain line on the washing machine. When I did my first load of laundry a few days after installation, my laundry room, kitchen, and dining room were completely flooded. The drain line was just spewing water onto the floor because it was never connected to the wall. Needless to say, it will cost me thousands of dollars to repair the damage done to my baseboards (they will need to be replaced in the flooded areas) and bottom kitchen cabinets. I called him immediately and told him what happened. He arrived while we were still getting the water out of the house and he saw that he had failed to connect the drain line. He never offered to pay for the damage, never apologized and wouldn't even refund my money for the faulty installation. When confronted, he tried to say that this flood didn't cause the damage. That I must have had a previous flood in the house, which is not true. This was the worst experience I have ever had hiring someone to work in my house. He has no insurance and in my opinion is incompetent and rude. read more

Had Robert come out to install a microwave over my stove, should have been pretty easy install... charged me 150.... ok so one month later one side keeps slipping down off the screw. I called him and told him what was happening I even tightened it myself but it keeps slipping off the screw. He came out and tightened it. ( I allready told him over the phone that wasn't gonna work) it slipped immediately after he left, I called him repeatedly and he just doesn't answer. Will NEVER use him again for anything!! read more

My washing machine was making a lot of noise in June of 2020. June 11 Robert came out and said it was the bearings and they needed to be replaced. He said that it would cost $347.00 to fix. I gave him $150 on the 11th. On June 16 he came out and put in the new bearings and said the machine was fixed. I gave him the remaining $197.00. The next day the machine started making more noise than it ever did before. After pleading with robert to come out and re-fix the machine. He came back out 12 days later but did not have the right equipment. I continued pleading and he finally came out in August 13 (two months later). He said it was fixed but it still made a lot of noise. Now he no longer returns my call. He just cannot manage his time. I will never use him and I would not recommend anyone use him. 4 months of tolerance as a nice person, just does not work. read more

Robert, the proprietor of ABC Appliance Rescue, embodies the incredible and deadly combination of arrogance, greed, and ineptitude. If you are reading this in time, pay him his trip charge ($75 as of December 2018) and say you are going to get a second opinion. If you entrust Robert (hereafter R) with your repair as likely as not you'll regret it. How can I make such a categorical statement? Read on. So badly bungled was the repair of my 5-year-old LG refrigerator that the total repair costs just about equaled the price I paid for it, a display model from HH Gregg. $390 of the total $1140 went towards paying a competent technician to correct R's poor workmanship and get the unit up and running. I was without a working refrigerator over Christmas, from December 23 to December 27. I called ABC on December 15th because my refrigerator was not cooling. Some of my experiences parallel those of the other people posting. He said he would come in one hour, showed up in 2 1/2. He brought the wrong compressor (before even looking at the appliance?) and had to return the next day. On the 16th there were more warning signs of his lack of skill. He seemed disorganized. His small parts were all jumbled up and he would constantly rummage through them. He broke his torch and had to run out for a new one. He made several calls out for advice on what to do. He took several hours to "complete" the job, much more than is usual. I decided to be indulgent and give a guy a chance - it being Christmas and all. By December 21st the refrigerator had stopped cooling again so I called him back. On the same day he drained and refilled the coolant and said that there had been a restriction in the line, maybe a tiny piece of solder that had broken off. This was, in fact, bull****. And by the evening of the 23rd the freezer contents had begun to thaw. The refrigerator had stopped cooling a third time. By this time I had lost all confidence in R and called a factory tech instead. They could come out no earlier than the 27th. When LG showed up that morning, the technician nearly refused the job on the basis of an unqualified person having had access to the sealed system. Three of the welds made by R were leaking - one heavily and two slowly; the refrigerant had simply escaped into the air. The LG tech tested the joints with a spray bottle and then did a vacuum test. R did neither. And finally there was no charge for labor because.....the compressor was under warranty. R charged me for a new compressor. So, in addition to being only marginally competent at best, R is a very shady character. I don't want to end on a overly negative note, so I will say this in favor of Robert and ABC Appliance Rescue: His diagnosis of a faulty compressor was correct. He accepts personal checks. He works on Sunday. He did not cause an explosion or start a fire. And only 3 of the 10 or so welds he made were defective. Sorry for the length of this post. Hopefully I will have saved someone money and frustration. In summary: a disaster, almost comically bad, going to small claims (will update with result). read more

This company sent Robert to fix my refrigerator. He toolkit apart. Had trouble putting it back together and now my ice machine does NOT work. Seems that he really did know what he was going and more guessing. I would never recommend this company. He put in a new circuit board. It did not work. I asked why and his reply was I don't know. Took it out and put back the old one. Stay away. Find more knowledgeable people read more

No. But wait, when you object to this nonsense, you get screamed at then hung up on because "Ain't nobody got time for dat." Just run....run far away and get someone else because this is no rescue unless you are the Taliban or something cuz this stuff has got to be similar to a hostage situation. HELP YELP! read more

The worst repair EVER! Robert installed wrong part into my high end wine cooler and practically destroyed it. He then, did not show up for any of about 10 appointments he personally scheduled to fix the problem! I had to call him and remind jim about the appointment(s) and he would tell me he is on the way and 20minutes from my house and did NOT show up!! He is not honest! another company rescued my appliance without any problem or lying. ABC Appliance Rescue owner Robert is not honest and anyone in need of appliance repair should run away from this guy!! read more

2 months ago after Irma my fridge didn't work. They came out and diagnosed it as a bad compressor. They were supposed to be back the next day. They didn't show up. Finally on Saturday just hours before I was to fly out they put a new one in. When I got back into town 3 weeks later fridge was warm. I called them and they can out again said compressor was defective and replaced it again. Still freezer not staying frozen. They came out again and said it was leaking and they fixed something else and put a circuit board in. Still not working. They said they would order more parts. 3 weeks later no calls no returned messages nothing from them. I text them and no response. Very pleasant people but not good service people or business people. So 2 months after first repair I still have a fridge that doesn't work. read more

Gave Robert a $120 deposit to fix my landlords stove. landlord decided not to fix it. Called Robert to cancel and he says 75 service fee. So I ask him for my 45 dollars back and he gives me the run around about how inconvenient it would be to give it to me. I told Robert I would meet him anywhere. Robert asked me for my bank account number to deposit a money order. "Yeah right, pal." The one star reviews are for real people. Do not call this home based business. read more

I feel bad for the guy, but I only wish I had read any one of the reviews before calling ABC Appliance Rescue so that I would not have called and asked for his services. Came out on a Sunday emergency call, tried to fix fridge, took apart several boards to see if replacing it would fix it, nothing worked after putsing around for 2 hours and accomplishing nothing , was told he had to order the parts , came back next day with another part, probably from another fridge, couldn't fix it, said it would cost more to fix than a new fridge......GOD DAMN probably didn't have to buy a new fridge had I known he had no clue as to what he was doing!!! should have called another reputable company!!! Paid $200. FOR EMERGENCY CALL OUT AND PARTS then when returned the next day could not fix fridge , said I was due a $75. refund, about two weeks later I called to see where refund was and he said sorry ....blah blah blah will get it out to you today, another two weeks go by and no refund. another two weeks go buy and now not answering my calls, until one day I called back 10 times in a row and finally got the pick up and background noise so I decided to call phone number from mapquest and he answered first try (probably no caller i.d. on transfered calls) he then says its inconvenient to drive around and find a post office!!! and he would drop off at my house since he is near by. well 2 months later I received the check.. dun dun dun.. with note that says good on Monday, so I waited till tuesday and of course I knew I should have called him to make sure but figured it would be good, NOPE cost me $12. in bank fees for returned check. not to mention still out the $75. "refund" from 6-15-14, it's now 8-21-14 DO YOURSELF A FAVOR DO NOT CALL ABC APPLIANCE RESCUE!!!!! I have my doubts as to his license and certification in this field, not sure if he really knew what he was doing, I will attempt to contact Robert and see about my refund and bank fees, not expecting much Hey we've all been in a bad time in our lives but at some point you have to do the right thing and if you are burried in your business it might be time to just shut down, regroup and find something else because eventually ABC will be forced to shut down by the County or State or Channel 5 read more

Worst company! Have been trying to get my refrigerator fixed for one week. Have been out three times, each time 2-3 hours late (making me late for work, missing hours needed) then misdiagnosed numerous times. Thanksgiving is tomorrow and still my fridge is not fixed while I have 15 guests coming to my house tomorrow. stayed home until 3 pm waiting for the tech who never came. And we already paid them - waiting for refund. The worst. read more

We called ABC (Robert) to come out and fix our washing machine. I knew what the problem was, a defective motherboard. He arrived for his scheduled appointment reasonably on time with the part. He then proceeded to give me his estimate to fix it which was $300!!! he was already there so I said "go ahead". He replaced the motherboard and it works fine. Only problem is...he broke the door and the machine started leaking the next time I ran it. I called him back frantically, later that evening to come make good on his work, no answer. Ended up getting another emergency repair company to come out and fix the issue. I spoke to Robert the next day and told him what had happened and we agreed that he would refund the labor portion of his charge. Its been over a week now no refund, not answering calls. This guy is dishonest and shady, do not use this company! read more
