    Closed for the season!
    Joe T.

I stopped by this produce place today in search of any type of produce that might be even a little bit local. They are still closed for the season which tells me they only sell locally produced food when it's in season. I will stop by here next month and check things out!

Gid as in Gideon. Very friendly.

Love them. Every time I go to South Carolina I have to stop there and get my favorite boiled peanuts.

We picked up a bag of peaches, tried the peach cider, and ended up buying a small bottle and a gallon size of the cider.

Atmosphere - Large garage, hot, empty, lots of peaches, back grocery area, evidence that this place is mainly supported by seasonal traffic. Service - Friendly and local. The first spot I went to (closer to i-85) was closing and with limited peach supply. The kind lady at this site called over to their other location to make sure the ladies there waited for me. Everyone was super nice. Food - I got 2 pecks of peaches (or 1/2 bushel), a jar of jam, and a huge cup of peach ice cream (which...btw was awesome) for about $29. This was a pretty good deal as the next day when I visited the Farmers Market in Davidson they were charging $9 for a 1/2 peck. Plus, the peaches from Lemmons were larger and better in appearance. Overall - I got some really tasty peaches that were used for some even better peach cobbler. This is my location for peaches...it should be yours too! PS: They take credit cards here if your total order is sufficient in price (i.e. over $10).

It was worth the quick detour from the highway. The location was easy to get to after exiting and getting back on the highway. The peaches extra large and smelled like it was freshly picked from the tree. We purchased several peaches by the pound. They were sweet and juicy. I can't express the satisfaction of biting into a truly fresh peach. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a restroom for you to use and plenty of parking.

There appear to be two parts of Strawberry Hill. One a fresh market with local fruits and veggies on south side of road. The other a homestyle restaurant with traditional choices and an ice cream parlor with delicious ice creams. The six of us were seated right away and brought menus. We ordered two single hot dog plates with chili & coleslaw & tots, one grilled chicken salad, two hamburger steak plates with corn & green beans, and a pulled pork sandwich made with vinegar (East Carolina) sauce & coleslaw & onion rings. Our food came quickly and was enjoyed by all. My 94 year old aunt cleaned her plate! I really enjoyed my BBQ - just the way I remember it! There was some discussion about their famous peach cobbler, but our party split. The four girls piled in one car and headed for casino nearby. My cousin and I went to his house to watch old Cowboy movies. Later we met back up to head to home or hotel. My wife was deliberately slow. After everyone had left, she said "Let's go try the peach cobbler!" We did, warmed up and with a scoop of butter pecan ice cream. It was sooo wonderful! I had to fight for a couple bites!! Great food and ice cream, great service, homey feel. There are probably a dozen or more rocking chairs under the covered front, probably to accommodate people waiting on a date night table.

So again as we are rolling up 85 my husband constantly reads aloud several advertisements about the Peaches that we never stop to get on our many weekend getaways to Atlanta. He goes on to say how they are always closed on Sunday which is the day we usually ride home. Then BAM an advertisement about "Free Peach Cider Sample" and now he's super SOLD about stopping. So he does and since our toddler was asleep I stayed in the car. He came out all excited and said let's switch and he sit in the car while I go Taste and so I did. We both liked the Peach cider with No Sugar added. We purchased a bottle as well as some Peaches that we just cleaned as they were pretty freshly picked (super dirty and ripe) which is a good thing as they came from the original source and not mass reproduced. The people were friendly and helpful and we are happy with our purchase. We will stop back in the future as long as he stop on the way going and not the way home since they are closed on Sundays.

I bought my mother a large bag of fresh shelled pecans, a few peach ciders both sugar and sugar free, grits, a peach soda and apple & peach bread along with some stink bombs for my boyfriend lol. They have a really great selection of preserves and ciders of all kinds. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly offering us samples of pretty much whatever we wanted to try. They also sell fire works here! I didn't really look too much at them but there was quite a selection. I will definitely be stopping here on my next trip to Georgia and hopefully peaches are in season when I do!

These grits get their natural, lighter, creaminess from the grits and proper cooking (stirring continuously) resulting in more corn flavor and a natural creaminess that doesn't overpower the dish. These grits result is an authentic bowl of creamy grits with complex and subtle corn notes that all too often is lost when chef's load up the cream and butter. I've heard it said that grits take on the flavor of what is added into them - well not if it starts with the "right" grits and knowing how to properly cook them. We also enjoy Rio Bertolini's Fresh pasta - their shrimp, corn, and bacon ravioli; their braised beef short rib ravioli, the lobster truffle ravioli; sage brown butter sauce; sweet potato gnocchi, and garlic gnocchi are some favorites. 3 doz en ravioli for $20, freezes well. Twin Creeks Lavender is a lavender farm with 7,000 organically grown plants located in Anderson. Their lavender candles are a delight. They also sell a variety of lavender potpourri, scents, soaps, etc. There are several farm stands represented, vegetables organic poultry, beef, pork. Lots of crafts and flowers. One of our most intriguing favorites is Forx Farms Cheeses, a couple who have introduced organic, hand crafted cheeses of all kinds into the local market reflecting their heritage from the Netherlands. Fresh cream cheese, no preservatives, same with Parmesan, cottage cheese, pimento cheese, aged Gouda, smoked Gouda, and my favorite - Leyden, a Dutch, semi hard cheese with cumin and caraway seed. This is such an outstanding market and a pleasure to visit, open every Saturday 8-noon from May 1 to last Saturday in October. It covers both sides of three blocks of Main Street from E McBee to Court Street.
