But not to worry, the fields are a 1km walk away! It's a sea of flowers, and while the fields aren't nearly as grand as Roozengarde down south in Mount Vernon, WA, the variety is huge and the photo ops are many on the periphery of the field. My cousin and I went on a drizzly weekday, so there were maybe like 10-15 other people enjoying the fields. It was a really nice time! Pre made bouquets are sold out front, and they're decently priced.

Here's what you should know: 1) Price: It's expensive. You need a ticket to enter and then everything except the smaller shows (dog show, horse racing, etc) costs extra. An unlimited ride bracelet cost $42 per person, including for kids. Deep fried Snickers cost $8.50. The fair's margin is huge, making them a lot of money. Pro-tip- buy as much as you can online in advance to shave some money off the steep price tag. 2) Rides: It's no amusement park, but there are some decent rides fir the thrill seeker. The vertigo ride is fun if you don't get sick from spinning. The swings go high and fast. The Rock Star ride left your stomach at the top. The kids ride section my four-year-old daughter loved. 3) Games: Most are rigged I'm sure, but if you're playing to win a prize for your kids, okay the balloon one or the rubber duck game. You win a cheap stuffed animal every time. 4) Food: There's a lot of it throughout the park from burgers to corn dogs to Chinese food. A few favorites- roasted corn, "moowiches" (ice cream sandwiches), elephant ears and poffertjes (Dutch mini pancakes). It's all expensive, but alas. When in Rome. 5) Shows: my daughter loved seeing the dog show, horse shoe and the juggling. The Northwest Washington Fair is a cultural experience, but it's worth noting that we witnessed a number of staff treat people of color differently. On one ride, the staff member running the ride singled out a Black man for absolutely nothing. At the bar area, the bouncer made deeply racist remarks about the type of people who live in D.C. upon seeing my wife's drivers license. It exposes an issue in this community people would rather ignore.

I enjoyed the livestock most off all. Horses, goats, llamas, pigs, etc. A little bit of everything can be found at the fair. Pricing is kind of high; you get what you pay for. $14 pays for day of entertainment. I can't imagine that organizing a large fair is cheap or easy, so try not to grumble too much. Rides are not included. Parking is also not included. Gate 5 had some decent paid parking across the street.

Maan farm offers a lot to see and do: a tulip forest, photo ops, a kid's play zone, animals, and wine tasting. When we arrived we wanted to do wine tasting. We got to try 4 different wines for $10 and were also given the option of a free tasting with the purchase of a wine. The employee, Alejandro was very helpful in answering all of our questions. He even explained that all fruit is grown on site. After wine tasting, we visited the animals. The animals were well cared for and in clean encounters. Finally, we visited the tulip forest which offered photo ops, tulips, and a peaceful environment. I couldn't recommend Maan Farm more!

We were there at 10 am and there was barely anyone there. This was great as I was able to take lots of pictures and pet animals. Since we came during BAE days, there were 5 kinds of baby animals for viewing: pigs, goats, sheeps, highland cows and rabbits. My favorite was the baby goats. They were 1.5-2M old and they were adorable running around. Beware that they will chew on your shoelaces or jackets. We got a few kind of food. The lemonade was mediocre and butter chicken Mac and cheese was a rip off at $15. There were 3-4 tiny pieces of chicken and the rest was just macaroni. The butter chicken taste was also very light. The samosas were yummy but they're somewhat spicy. My personal favorite was the carrot cake. You can actually see lots of pieces of carrots in it. It was $7 something a piece. The icing was a bit sweet, however. The entire farm was to be enjoyed by both adults and kids. My toddler really liked the bubble zone. She basically got to wave the twin wands around and out came big bubbles. We bought the membership which was $10 off if purchased prior to 4/12. We'll be back for summer and their pumpkin patch.

And one person at the Sunflower picking field to guide us. Its my first time at a flower U-Pick field, so any guidance was helpful. They give you shears to borrow to cut the flowers There were large boards with maps on site to show the location of Sunflowers, Field flowers, and Lavender plants (peonies, lupins and hydrangeas will be ready in 2024) They had many photo opts set up: colorful benches, swings, picture frames, and even a boat! My only complain during my visit was the there was no pathway to the Field Flowers section, so walking on the dry hay and grass, scratched my legs. Also, the pathways in the field are uneven, so may not be easy for some visitors It was easy to spend an hour here, you can probably pack a snack too! Once the flowers are picked, there is a tent available at the entrance to tape the flowers, trim off the leaves prepare for a simple bouquet They have a hand wash station, portable toilets, and adirondack chairs for visitors to enjoy and relax Overall, a pretty good experience, and would recommend to visit here on a dry sunny day.
