It makes sense if the livelihood of most people in the community depends on helping convert happy trees to logs :/ I was 13 years old when I realized that most people don't wear suspenders. Started in 1962, the DEMING LOG SHOW, always the second weekend of June, is a fund raising event "For Busted-Up Loggers" that rose out of loggers' lack of health benefits or disability. It's the most popular event in Deming, and is packed with people. Don't miss events include the early morning loggers breakfast, the "Bull of the Woods" award, opportunities to drive the CATs, and the many log rolling, log climbing, log cutting, etc. contests.

We went on a whim, having been years earlier in our college days. Reserved an RV site and stayed from Friday through Sunday. We got the last site available, due to the ill health of one of the 'regulars' - and were immediately greeted by our immediate neighbors who were more than welcoming and friendly. Had a wonderful time. Here was information we were hazy on: No clue when the show started, or how the food situation worked. Rather expected a beer garden, but no. We brought our own dinner for Friday night, not knowing there was a huge supplier-hosted feast that evening. Forewent the long lines and ate our own food that night. Assumed (incorrectly) that Saturday evening would be flush in food as well, only to find all the vendors closed down tight by about 7 pm. So, no dinner for us that evening. Breakfast was available both days, and lunch/early dinners were available while the show was going. Dog friendly, which is hard to find anymore, although they are not allowed inside the arena (for good reason). Clean and well-maintained grounds with plenty of garbage containers. No recycling, which would be a nice addition. Both indoor and portable restrooms. The purpose of this review is to let those unfamiliar with the event have a bit better heads-up than we did. Even bumbling through as we did, it was well worth the experience. I would strongly suggest updating the web site so future 'newbies' can be better prepared.

The BEST little fair in the lower mainland!…read more We started going in 2012 and have been back EVERY year with our (originally 2, now 4) little children. Our daughter loves seeing the animals, especially the chickens. My son loves the motorcycle derby and pig races. My wife likes the horse showmanship and the food trucks. When it's hot out, you can cool off under one of the large mist tents (which have water spray nozzles). There's also a huge nursery / change room for the babies. As a dad I enjoy the wrestling and chainsaw competition. There are dozens of rides, games and activities, including Ferris wheel and bumper cars. After the sun goes down, we head to the amphitheater for a great live show. On Sunday night a Christian band usually plays. Our family will DEFINITELY keep returning, year after year. The Agri-fair holds a very special place in our summer memories.

I had some great potato thing, but other than that I felt like it was a long drive for something that wants to be the PNE but isn't. I ate a couple bites, watched some pretty lame bike and skate shows, heard a bunch of kids sing as part of some contest thing, and got to see some guys crack out of the back of his pants. That's about all I have to say about that. I might consider going back on an earlier day as other people apparently have enjoyed this event so I can't help but feel like I am missing something.

Amazing unique products presented by passionate entrepreneurs in the f & b industry.Way cool local foods and ingredients with a twistl; Gluten Free yummies to scarf. I personally have no prob with gluten, however I will nosh almost anything. My personal Food Show highlights include the sugar free organic dark truffles sweetened with dates and non gmo, soy free goodness. The vendors name escapes me but I did get a pic. Another stand out was the extra virgin olive oils from "All of Oils" oils & vinegar. Gimme a straw 'cos these oils are unlike any I've ever experienced. The dark 18 year old e.v.o.o. was to die for and I loved the bright clean citrus notes of the orange infused flavour. We HAD to buy some. "Republica Coffee Roasters" rocked my world with their smooth medium dark and smokey dark roasts. If u love honey "Kidd Bros." offers thee most delectable fusion of flavoured honeys ever...love their Lemon honey. "Killer Cups Coffee Bites" are a must nosh for any lover of coffee and chocolate....so decadent and rich you'd have to pry it out of my face hole. Worth every penny of admission and parking...next year put this gastro event on your foodie calendar. See u next year... Brianm foodieatlarge.yelp.ca
