Each train car was packed once we arrived at this station so the train had to park there until everyone was able to get off. The bottleneck for getting out of the station were the stairs. It's got the lot, incredible value, never to be repeated again: views (including water views and Harbour Bridge views), close to transport (yeah, literally, but ferries, f(r)eeway and buses are also not far away), close to shops (a couple of restaurants and cafes down there), heritage building, lifts built-in, gardens at your (non-existent) door-step. The list goes on. It also has got two bathrooms, an unknown number of rooms (probably more than your average home), but no parking spaces and no swimming pool:( Ok, in terms of real estate value I've lied a bit here. Circular Quay station is equally good (just see my review of it). The best part of this is you get to enjoy this value every time you check in here, and it only(!) costs you the price of a CityRail ticket. The interesting thing with the transport hub 'Milsons Point station' is that you won't even really notice it's there. Once you step out of the station building, which on its ground level really is just an arch-way under the extension of our Harbour Bridge, you're either in Kiribilli village, or Bradfield Park. From either side, it's just a stone's throw to the harbour. One last breath of harbour air. Breath-in...aaaahh fresh air: "Please stand clear. Doors closing." Oi, bummer.

There are machines to top off your Opal card (or even purchase one if need be). The steps down to the ferry (or up to the street) are a bit difficult if you're not super mobile (or are dragging a roller bag after a 20 hour flight). Ferries are typically every 30 minutes at this spot. Still you can commute on a ferry which is awesome.

Wentworth Park Light Rail Stop is a station on the Dulwich Hill Line of the Sydney Light Rail. This…read moreis the closest station to the Sydney Fish Market as it is located across the street. It is a bit hidden as you need to walk through a pathway next to a residential apartment complex and then cross the busy intersection in the area. Make sure you don't cross the Western Distributor freeway to the other side of Pyrmont Bridge Road as you will have walked the wrong way. The market is on the same side. The previous Light Rail station is called Fish Market which is a bit deceptive and misleading since it isn't the closest station to the complex. Saw a lot of people get on and off at that station, not knowing there was a closer station. I think the locals keep this station a secret so they can get on before the tourists do as the train heads toward Central Station. As for the station itself, it is a simple stop with a waiting area and an Opal card reader which you swipe to pay your fare. As you get on, there is a person that polices the train car to ensure that you have paid your fare by checking your Opal card. If you are going to Sydney Fish Market, be smart and use this station instead. It is closer than the "supposed" attraction stop and you get on to the train before the riders at the tourist stop.

Although the outdoor temperature was a bit cold on the day we visited, they have outdoor heating and blankets to keep us warm. They have a top cocktail list and we began with one each. The flavours of these were lovely and refreshing and the presentation also fit the setting. Brunch always has to have a Bellini and this one was a nice mix of Champagne with white peach and vine peach liquor. The skyline swizzle was a mix of rum, açai berries, raspberries, fresh lime and bitters. Gin, pineapple, lime and bitters made up the Honolulu cocktail and it was awesome. Food wise, we left it in the hands of the waiter to order us an array of foods, beginning with some beautiful oysters and a vinaigrette. The menu is predominantly seafood, a natural choice given the proximity to the sea. From the sea menu, we tried the Balmain bug risotto, which was cooked just as risotto should be, and with the addition of nice small chunks of Balmain bug. Beautifully presented with edible flowers, Creme fraiche and edamame, this was a popular dish amongst our group. We also tried the yellow fin tuna tartare with avocado, black sesame and ponzu, accompanied by some rice waters. The kale and avocado salad with quinoa, chickpeas, seeds, pine nuts and mint was so refreshing and nice and light to go with the meal. We also had the swordfish steak special with sugar snap peas and a romasco sauce, a seafood lasagne and a side of bread and butter. It's a perfect location, lovely food and efficient service.

But this station's got the lot too: views of Harbour Bridge, Opera House (take that Milsons Point station!) and harbour water. It could be passed in as waterfront property almost, which in Sydney terms slaps another few hundred grands on its value. Circular Quay station is also close to transport: many bus lines end and start here, there's a taxi rank nearby and six wharfs to choose from (Circular Quay 2 - Milsons Point 1). Close to overpriced shops, heritage building (sort of 50s building, but that heritage here), lifts, 2 bathrooms, floor art on the platform, First Fleet garden, The Rocks. Alas, no parking spaces and no swimming pool here either. And so many train lines to choose from. Get a ticket! In terms of village feel, Milsons Point station wins, so it's a draw: Circular Quay 2 - Milsons Point 2. One last advice to impress visitors from overseas: Take the train from Wynyard to Circular Quay. Not only are you on the water front side, but when you step out you'll immediately see the duo Harbour Bridge and Opera House. A real winner!
