The atmosphere was cool and the decorations were very detailed but overall it was not too scary. If you are in the front of the group you will most likely get more jump scares, the back didn't get much at all. They send in big groups at a time and there were moments where we were standing still. There were many parts where the walkway was very skinny. Lastly, after we got through the first two houses we had to stand in line AGAIN to get into the last haunted house. Overall, had a good time but I don't think it's worth $40. read more

$30 entry fee for (3 houses), with an additional $5 if you want to try the axe throwing. I say skip the extra $5 because if you watch others for even a few minutes you will see it's pretty lame. So $30 for 3 houses? It's really more like two attractions because in one of the buildings (Ambush) there is no real pause or reset before you continue on into (Hysteria) Three houses is just false advertising. Just charge what you're going to charge. Be prepared to wait 1-2 hours in line if you get there after 8 p.m. and don't pay the extra $10 on top of the $30 to obtain a "fast pass". There are a number of spooks interacting with the crowd while you wait as well as a large screen showing different videos and comical clips. It's not a terrible wait if you have the time and are with the right group of people. They do sell beer ($6 a can), soda ($3 a bottle) and other snacks to help pass the time. We went with a group of 11 people, which I already thought was too large a group to really enjoy the fear experience. The staff ushered people into the house in groups of about 20 at a time. I get it, trying to get the masses through but that size group just killed the entire experience. There was no way the spooks could reset from the start of the group to the rear of the pack and anyone not in the front completely lost out on the spook jumping out or the dialogue they had to share about their scene. There were plenty of actors and they all seemed to be actively involved in their respective role. It was just grossly disappointing that for $30 they ushered us through like cattle rather than getting a true scare experience. We enjoyed the cornfield experience more so than the "2" houses. This was so because when we got into the field we stopped and waited for the mass group to get well ahead of us. When we proceeded it was like we were our own little group of 4 at that point. Great experience!! Now, if you don't scare easily, I can see where this might not be your thing. However, if you don't scare easy, but you can still have a good laugh at the expense of your friends, then definitely go. But, if you don't scare easily AND you're a negative Nancy, just stay home. No one wants you around anyway! I'm not sure what people's expectations are. I think as far as haunted houses go, this place does a great job! Now, like I said, I scare pretty easily so it's not hard to scare me. I will say this. Place in line matters. If you're in the front, you're going to get scared first! So you'll have more of a thrill than the people behind you because they'll be expecting it. There are tons of nooks and crannies in the corn field and in the houses. They jump out at you at all angles and if you're in the back, they jump out at you there too. I'll also say this, the novelty wears off after a while. After the first hour of getting scared, you kind of stop being scared. It's weird actually. Of course there are still things that are scary, especially if you can't see! But overall you get less and less scared as time goes on. With that being said, it's still great! Even when I wasn't at my jumpiest, I still had fun! I think next year I'll go to the black out one because that just seems terrifying! And it will be something new since I'll already kind of know what to expect. The only other cons were the strobe lights. I had to close my eyes and hang on to the guy in front of me when they were around. Instant headache! Luckily for me and my friend, the group that we got stuck with was very friendly. The guy in front of me let me hang on him and he warned me when we had to step up or down. I was grateful. Definitely hugged and got hugged by strangers. If you don't like to be touched or to be in close proximity of people, you should give this a hard pass. Also, and I'm not saying this to be rude because I'm big myself, but it's fat person friendly, as I was kind of worried about that. However I'm not so sure it's meant for extremely tall people... It was not as packed as I thought it was going to be the weekend before Halloween. The area is made for lots of people, they definitely seemed ready for a crowd. I'd say that paying to skip isn't worth the extra $10. Again, it might have been a fluke that it wasn't actually that busy. We did wait until 9 to leave. It's a 30 minute drive from Bayview, but it's an easy drive. The place is not hard to find at all and they direct you wear to park. The price was seriously was sold me to begin with. We went on Halloween Night. You know, the night that we got 5 inches of snow? There was zero wait time. We got to go in our own group of 4. It was amazing! Great makeup. Dedicated, scary and in-character actors. The scenes were well thought out and I could tell that alot of time was put into the design and art aspect. The strobes and lights were disorientating at times, which went perfectly with the haunt theme. We wlll be back next year! read more

We drove almost 2 hours and were very disappointed. The groups had 20-25 people sent in and that really sucks as only the 1st couple get the scares. Walked thru so much without any scares at all. In 1 house our group caught up with the previous group, so then it was 1 long line of people just walking thru a maze. The corn field had barely any people scaring. Not sure if they just didn't have enough actors or what, but definitely needs more. read more

Got free tickets from Instagram and was super pumped to come here from Chicago and didn't disappoint! The only disappointing thing was I didn't think only one haunted house was open instead of both:( but the one me and friend got to go through which was called Stalker was awesome! It was a haunted corn maze and actors stalked the entire area and also lead you through buildings with amazing designs with actors inside that came at you during perfect timings to scare the shit out of you! It was a nice long haunt that made the drive over there totally worth it! Just wish they had all haunted houses open.. (fuck covid).. but can't wait to go again next year! LOVE THIS HAUNTED HOUSE! There are 3 awesome exhibits- a corn maze "Stalker" & 2 houses "Hysteria" & "Ambush" and both were very very good. We have been coming here for a couple of years and we plan to continue! The actors keep it interesting and fun while waiting in the lines and keep it scary while in the houses! The tickets for all 3 are $30 (a good deal!!!!) and though the lines can get long, for $10 you can upgrade to a fast pass which is a super good deal also. Will always recommend this attraction. Frightful and delightful; this is a must-do for any Halloween or spooktacular enthusiast. It's worth it to do all three events (and if you're not a fan of a long line, the fast pass might be worth the extra ten dollars!). If it's cold, the one dollar hand warmers are a must. I love going to haunted houses and I was bummed that I missed this one last year so I was determined to get to it this time around. Maybe is was all the hype or the possibilities of greatness they could accomplish with this building but I have to honestly say, not impressed. I was actually very disappointed and bored walking through. As with another review, I completely agree, the entire thing is filled with smoke and too dark to see anything. Some may say that the dark makes it scary but for those of us who are not afraid of people dressed up screaming in your ear until your ears bleed, I like to see the scenery and the efforts put into a haunted house. The absolute best part of this haunted house was the beginning, which is when you are standing in line before it opens, so about 6:45 and they do a countdown on a huge outdoor screen. When the countdown is up, all of the actors bust out from behind some wooden gates with fire and loud music blaring and they go through the crowd before entering the house to take their positions. That alone was the coolest part of this HH. So to sum up my review. Get there early so you can see the pre-haunt show. Inside has potential but you will basically go through two haunted houses of fog, blackness, people banging on 55 gallon drums, loud death metal music and people screaming in our ear until your ears bleed. Not scarey, just annoying. Dear Abandoned Haunted House, please take the summer to think of some unique ideas where the customers can "see" something new. read more

This place is a lot of fun! Highly recommend going. I haven't been to many haunted houses in the area, so I don't really have much to compare this one to, but I these guys definitely made you jump! There were 3 attractions when I went - 2 back to back indoor haunted houses plus a haunted corn maze. Each attraction lasted about 20 minutes, so I definitely think I got my money's worth. They were much longer than I had anticipated. You're still guided on a specific path within the corn field, and through several buildings, but zombies can pop out of anywhere, so be on your toes. The haunted house has several twists and turns and keeps you on highest alert around every corner. I didn't know if I would be one to get scared easily, but Abandoned did it! They make you jump, and then you laugh about how funny your reactions are with your friends. I highly recommend getting the fast pass to skip the lines. It's only an extra $10 for all 3 attractions and you get in right away. read more

I have been to many scary haunted houses in my day and was really excited to visit Abandoned. I had heard and read a lot of good reviews on the place. I have to be honest.....I don't understand all the hype. Four of us went on the Saturday before Halloween, so anticipating the place would be extremely busy, we purchased the fast passes online at $30 per ticket. When we arrived there was maybe 30 people waiting. Not too many at all so the extra $10 spent per ticket was a huge waste. Usually there are characters working the parking lot and waiting line area to get you scared and hyped up to enter the haunted house. Here, there was 1, yes 1.....and he did nothing but basically stand around. I will say there were a couple times in the first 5 minutes or so that got me but then it just got really hot, dark and smoky. So much so that we could barely see anything. Half the fun is seeing all the gruesome and vulgar staging that goes in to a haunted house and that was not happening here. We also got tired of fighting off all crap hanging from the ceiling hitting us in the face pretty much the entire time. Sorry, this place didn't do it for any of us. read more

I liked it so much I'm going back this weekend with my sisters! We love Halloween and this haunt is definitely better than last year! I think the second portion was closed off last year. I got to see it last Saturday 10/4 and oh my goodness! There was so many different things that played with your senses! There's ramps and the actors are scary! I showed up early and watched them go into the house with the chainsaw going it was amazing and it was soooooooo worth the $20! I'm excited to see my little sisters reactions! She's the scary one!!! Went with my boyfriend on 11/1/19 and Had a really great experience for the first half of our visit (Stalker haunted cornfield). Then as we stood in line at the next haunted houses (Hysteria/Ambush)... we were super excited. However, that experience was ruined. I was so upset that none of it scared me. What happened you ask? A former employee, young lady (who clearly had some issues) loudly announced to us everything that was to be expected in the experience. I mean the girl went into details. But wait there's more, because that wasn't enough... Once inside she also shouted out all the things that were supposed to scare me before the actually could. I mean for God's sake, I knew the zombie's name(actor,Eliot), she kept stopping him to chit chat. Soooo why the 4 star review? Here's why, I called the next day and spoke to the owner Corey who offered to have us come back in 11/2/19 for the "lights out" behind the scenes and full VIP treatment. However, due to work schedule we could not return. He didn't give us a refund or even half (since it wasn't all bad) but did offer to compensate us by giving us two tickets to enter for free next year. I appreciate Corey taking the time to listen (even giving me his cell number in case we could make it there on short notice), his genuine apology for a former employee's behavior and his professionalism during this whole ordeal. Only reason they got 4 stars is because they will get the 5th star once we get our passes next year. read more

Not as scary as it seems to be. Very dark through the whole house and very foggy. My boyfriend and I went on a Friday night, the wait was not long. While waiting there is a large projector playing music videos. Actually entertaining. But some of the workers in the haunted house in my opinion are extremely inappropriate. My boyfriend and I both had sexual comments made to us. I understand its a haunted house and there doing there job by making us scared but there is a limit. I will never go back there. read more

Pretty cool haunted house, this is no small operation! $20 for a huge interior that literally takes a minimum of 30 minutes to get through (I thought the guy at the gate may have been exaggerating, but he wasn't!). The only problem I had was the heat!! It was the 2nd week in October and was still like 70 degrees out, which made the inside really really hot and sweaty. There was a bridge with some crazy lighting that made you feel like you were drunk and about to barf, and some crazy giant plastic (reminiscent of a bouncy house) tubes you had to push through so do NOT come here if you are claustrophobic or have a great/fancy hair style/outfit. read more

This haunted house is one of the best haunted houses I have ever been too. It is one of the longest haunted houses for such an affordable price. I went with a group of 9 people and there was a corn maze that lasted 20 minutes and a haunted house that I think lasted about 25-30 minutes all for $30! They had plenty of characters ready to make you jump out your shoes and the props were fantastic. I could not tell in the haunted houses if the people were real or fake, thats how good they were. And when they were real, I most definitely jumped! The complex is organized and I had a blast!! The wait for each attraction was about 20-30 minutes without a fast pass and they had a screen with music and videos to entertain while you wait. It went by fast! This house should have stayed abandoned.I visited 10/26/13. $20 for a 20 minute walkthrough with constant stops because of bad patron put through times. The sets and transitions weren't too bad when you could actually see them. The entire haunt is fogged out and way too dark. I ran into the actors a lot because they couldn't even see me. Most of the time the actors would just stare at us walking by and growl softly. I even heard one actor getting yelled at by his boss behind a curtain. I'm not really sure how to review this one. It was good, but at the same time it wasn't. It was very detailed, but at the same time you couldn't see anything because of fog and darkness. You get your money's worth for the length, but at the same time it seemed a little long due to the lack of actors. I'm all for people jumping out at you, but when a house consistently uses actors behind panels, it gets old. There are only so many times a picture or wall can be slammed down with someone yelling and the. Instantly resetting to do the same thing in five seconds...while you're still there. Loud noises are startling. Horror movies rely on that. Take out the noise level in a scary movie and you'll see it for what it is. But a haunted house doesn't need to rely on that in the form of doors and such, keep the music up to distract, but that's it. If the actors roamed the house more and hid from people, it would have been terrifying. No joke. It is so claustrophobic in there that if they make some areas a little bit bigger for an actor to run through, they would probably have the most people chickening out, because you feel trapped. You feel like there is no end. The maze has got to be one of the most creative and best uses of space. It has got to be the longest house I've been in, at least that's how it felt. But the actors aren't scary. The ones you do encounter are lame and the makeup isn't that good. They spout their typical haunted house jargon and that's about it. I think that if the owners put half as much thought into the actors as they do the sets, next year will be better. Like I said, this house isn't bad, but it isn't good. It's immersive, but at the same time somewhat boring. One more note for next year, please reduce the use of hanging objects. It got to be annoying and then at some point everything seemed wet, which is gross. I shouldn't have to purrel my face after I get out of a house. I'm not going next year, but if I hear improvements I'll make this trip again. It could be great. It could be THE destination house of the year. It could be the scariest house of all. Just recast, revamp and retool for next year. Become terrifying. Here's your goal: 1 out of 10 people leave crying. read more

Two houses and a corn maze made it the longest haunt I have attended. That being said, there was only like 4 actors in the entire maze, disappointing. The building itself is amazing and the perfect settings for a great haunt. I am a fan of good scene rooms, helps to submerse myself in the moment, very few actual scene rooms. Plenty of actors doing pop out scares, which is cool but gets lame after awhile. A lot of growling and white paint but no real attempt to get you into the moment. Crowd control in the houses was pretty poor. We went about half way through the first house when we hit the group ahead of us and there we stayed. read more

This is one of the best haunts I've been to! I am a Halloween fanatic! I have been to haunts in Kansas, California , Missouri, Colorado, Illinois, and now Wisconsin! It is plenty long at around 40 minutes for only 20$ or 18$ if you like them on Facebook! Their monsters run into the haunt at opening and you really get to see their makeup! The first haunt is hystria and it has many different scenes but they flow well from on to another and then you enter ambush which is just that! It assaults all your senses. They have out side roamers and even if they can't scare you ( I am immune) they still entertain either with humor or plain awkwardness! I loved it make a point to see it at least once!! read more

Didn't Enjoy the overall haunting experience. Went with 2 buddies on a saturday night. I was aware the line could get lengthy, we waiting roughly around 2 hours, which was to be expected. However, when we were in line, they had a projector displaying videos at random from youtube, some were metal music videos, random pranks, many low quality youtube videos, hell they even had something on the muppets we watched for 20 minutes or so, didn't really make sense to me why they would be showing this at a line to a haunted house. When we started the haunted house, you could tell they put some hard work into this the decor looked great, but there was a lot of people and random characters hiding right behind the corner your about to walk past. The biggest thing that really negatively effected the experience was they would put 10-15 people in one haunt group, now we were in the back of the line for our group so we could see every scare and trick they had just cause we were in the the back of such large group. Attended this attraction last weekend. Our overall reaction was extremely impressive and had exceeded everything we imagined on an opening weekend. The complex itself covers a good stretch of Real Estate. They had 2 haunts in 1 building & the 3 haunt was a corn maze walkthrough as well as an additional attraction shooting gallery. Needless to say there was plenty to keep us occupied from the moment we got on the property. We did arrive early as we weren't quite sure how to judge lines being an opening weekend and we're glad we did as surprisingly they had a very nice turnout. Just equally as impressive was how quickly they moved the lines, but we were never rushed through the attraction during our experience, all while managing to balance the fine line between Adult and Family. The pre-show was incredible inclusive of preshow video, pyrotechnics and an Underworld football like sporting event entrance for all the actors. The shows are very detailed from start to finish and it definitely shows. I would say the only downfall is I really thought that the entire show is they were kind of missing a an impactive intro room. This was most definitely worth every penny we paid (it is worth more) and you need to allow yourself some time at this venue as it's going to take you quite some time to make it through the events alone ( approximately 1.5 hours to attend all 3). read more

I had an interesting experience at this haunted attraction. This was from October 2013. While standing in line one of the actors approached us and asked my friend to spit in a cup. He then drank my friends spit. Yes it was frightening but also extremely disgusting and disturbing. This same actor smashed a lightbulb on his head and there was blood everywhere. This was real blood and he actually had to see a parametric. I was entertained but also a little freaked out about the safety of everyone involved. Blood Born Pathogens and just different sicknesses and diseases & sickness spread through saliva. This guy was way over the top. I can't imagine if he had done this in front of a family with children. Luckily it was me and my friends who are in our mid twenties and we've seen some shit before. The house was alright. read more

I went with a group of friend from school to Abandoned Haunted House Complex, and had a great time, we came on a Friday night and came early to see the rising. The rising was a really cool experience that gives you the opportunity to interact with the actors and really see what it's all about. We got the package of all 3 different haunted houses for a great deal. I thought that each haunted house had it own personality that changed the experience in many great ways. I also really enjoyed the detail that they put into it and it really shows how cool these haunted houses were. Each house was about 20-40 minutes, and every second counted with the actors roaming or popping out and scaring you. I really liked stalker too because of the outdoor experience. If you are looking for a place for fun and it's awesome thrill, I recommend Abandoned Haunted House. read more

Just checked this out for the first time ever tonight. I was nervous that it may not be that great and boy was I wrong! Get there by 6:45 because all the actors come busting out of this wooden shack! Amazing! You get to see everyone before you go in the houses. This place looks small on the outside but there is so much going on in there. The actors, detail to sets, and atmosphere are top notch. I was the last person in our group and the actors would follow me and scare me multiple times. I was legit scared and freaked out that someone was always behind me. The actors definitely play mind games with you. There were no problems with fog so I believe they fixed that problem. There are a lot of surprise obstacles in this house that add to awesomeness. I was caught off guard multiple times and would highly recommend this haunted house. Don't let looks fool you because this place is worth the trip! read more

SUPER DISAPPOINTED! We went the past two years and had really good scares and it was all around great. This year was pretty pathetic, the cornfield was not scary and you can tell where actors are due to fencing. The houses were Way under staff compaired to the last years. I will agree with others statements that there were pretty horrible inappropriate sexual comments. We brought friends and we were sooo disappointed that it was not scary at all compared to last years. There were large chuncks of the houses with no actors. Huge let down. read more

This is my second year going, and it's one of the best haunted houses I have ever been to. Great production values all around. We always do the two indoor ones, so I can't comment on the Stalker maze, but all I can say is 1) fun 2) scary 3) long 4) totally worth it. We came on a Sunday at 9pm and there was no wait, which was awesome. Love the unique elements and creativity that make this place awesome. I just went this last weekend and I was so impressed I literally had to go to Yelp to tell the world, and I never go to Yelp. This is the most carefully thought out and constantly entertaining haunt I've ever been to. There's two parts to the house, and it takes about 30 min to go through. The first part is more of a sensory experience, so you feel totally disoriented and on edge (in a good way!) the entire time. Lots of cool lighting effects, elevation changes, and overall psychotic creepiness. Then you go through this tunnel that I swear seems like it's rotating even though it's not. This gets you into the second haunt, where you get to walk through all these intensely realistic scenes. I remember a hospital, a prison, an asylum, creepy woods... and the actors are EVERYWHERE. Popping out of corners, dropping from panels in the wall, above you, below you. They're really interactive too, it's not just about jump-scares. One guy even heard me call my sister by her name and he followed her around saying "Megan, Megan, Megan..." and it totally freaked her out. The lighting, textures and props blew my mind. You would have to go through 100 times to even catch a glimpse of all the detail they put into this. I'm definitely going back again for the black out night on November 1. read more
