I am posting this review to document my experience and warn other consumers to obtain all estimates and approvals in writing before allowing Abaco Breeze AC to perform any work.
I own a condominium with an AC system that was installed approximately two years ago at a cost of about $10,000. When the system stopped cooling properly, I contacted Abaco Breeze AC at the end of May 2026 and specifically requested an estimate before any repairs were performed.
After receiving an email stating that a leak repair was going to be performed, I immediately contacted the office because I had not authorized any work. I was told that it was likely an error and that I would be provided with an estimate before any repairs were made. No estimate was ever provided.
Despite my clear request for an estimate and without my authorization or approval, the company proceeded with the repair and later sent me an invoice for $910. Had I been informed of the cost beforehand, I would not have approved the repair.
The most concerning part is that the repair did not solve the problem. The AC still does not cool properly and the condominium continues to reach temperatures of approximately 88 degrees.
When I attempted to discuss these issues with the owner, I found his attitude dismissive, condescending, and unprofessional. During our conversation, he suggested that the failure could simply be a defect, comparing it to purchasing a new car. When I responded that I purchase my vehicles new and understood the comparison, his reply was, "Then you can afford $910." I found that remark inappropriate and disrespectful, especially considering that the dispute concerns a repair I never authorized and that did not resolve the problem.
Consumers have the right to receive estimates, approve repairs before work begins, and expect professional treatment when raising legitimate concerns. In my experience, Abaco Breeze AC failed in all three respects.
I am disputing this invoice and filing complaints with the appropriate consumer protection agencies regarding the unauthorized repair, billing dispute, and unresolved AC issue. I encourage other consumers to insist on written estimates and written authorization requirements before allowing this company to perform any work. read more
