My daughter has monthly appointments to monitor her ADHD medication. Every single month, right before her appointment, I receive a call claiming I owe money. I always pay the copay immediately after each visit, and my patient portal consistently shows a $0 balance. Despite this, for the past several months I've been bombarded with calls, texts, and emails--sometimes multiple times a day--saying I owe money. The text messages in particular are poorly written and unprofessional, to the point where they honestly feel like a scam. After my daughter's October appointment, I contacted a supervisor and went through everything with him. He confirmed that I did not owe anything and even emailed me verification showing a $0 balance. Since then, my daughter has had her November and December appointments, and I paid those copays as usual. Yet today (1/9/2026), I received another call claiming I owe copays going all the way back to September. This is beyond infuriating. At this point, it feels like a money grab, and I am actively looking into reporting this billing practice. That said, I want to be clear that my daughter's psychiatric provider is wonderful. She is attentive, compassionate, and truly seems to care. It's really unfortunate that the office staff--especially billing--completely undermine what could otherwise be a great experience.
