The massage therapist was very friendly and nice but It was more like a rub down than a massage. It wasn't very relaxing. The massage therapist pressure was a little harder than I normally prefer. My skin was extremely oil after the massage, which I didn't like. I purchased a Groupon about 6 months and just realized, I hadn't used it. So I made an appointment. I went on a Saturday, it wasn't very busy at all. The waiting area had an odd unpleasant odor to it. But the massage room And sheets appeared to be clean. Unfortunately I won't be returning. If I could give 0 stars I would. During one of my husbands acupuncture appointments he was burned by too much of the herb material. He jumped up after he felt it burning his back. No one was around to help him. When he went to the front they said oh it happens. A week later he went back in and the response he got was it looks like it is healing good. " We Had A Very Good Massages " My wife and I went to AB Acupuncture yesterday to have 2, 60 minute massages. When we walked through the front door we was nicely greeted by Chip Boardman the receptionist. Chip was very nice and personable as he gave me and my wife the paperwork to fill out before our massage began. Chip was nicely answering the phone, and setting up appointments for customers while we filled out our paperwork. Our massage therapist Alona M. Bradley then came out to take me and then later my wife, to a very clean room where she asked me a lot of questions about my health and body history, and gave me instructions on what she was going to do during my massage. Alona asked me several times during my massage, how I was feeling, and is the pressure Ok. Alona's strong hands gave me relief from my neck and back stiffness, as she massaged my entire body from head to toe, bringing total relaxation to my entire body. My wife also had a stress free time with Alona and she again was very specific and caring about making sure my wife was happy with her massage therapy treatments. When I called to make the appointment I was encouraged to do the massage and acupuncture together and I did. I walked in and noticed the place was not warm. The decor gave me a chuckle, Asian meets down home country. The massage room had a heated mat on the table and a tiny space heater. Massage was good and relaxing, areas I was asked about were addressed. Pressure was reduced when I asked and I didn't have to ask again. I went to put my clothes back on and discovered a heavy NON-absorbing oil all over me. Nothing takes the relax off like having to use the sheet I was covered with to rub oil off my body. Stepping off the small mat in front of the massage table onto the COLD tile floor really...really didn't help either. When I left the massage room the place felt cold. The Acupuncture room was cold NO space heater. I asked if there was heat, I was told the thermostat was set on 74 but I just had a massage and my slowed heart rate would give me a chill!?!?! and then she put a sheet around my shoulders. After waiting 10 min for the Acupuncturist my toes were cold. Once again the table had a heated pad on it. I'm assuming they invested in heating pads for the tables in an effort to keep their heating bill low? The needles were painlessly inserted in me. Then a sheet was draped over me and immediately removed, when I yelped in discomfort from the pressure it applied to the needles. I noticed the bottom of my feet were dark gray and I was told it was from the oils on my feet from the massage and walking on the floor...mop your floors! read more

I saw a "GroupOn" for a massage for my wife (she'll yelp her own experience). As I was looking at the "GroupOn" deal I noticed another one for some acupuncture. As this was something that I had wanted to try, I signed up for an appointment. I arrived on time and observed a business in the back of a local strip mall. I didn't know whether this was going to be positive or negative. I entered the sparse waiting room and met Chuck. He explained the paperwork and had me fill them out. I explained that my reason for going was arthritis in my hands. I had never experienced acupuncture so I had no prior expectations going into this. A short time later I was brought into a room by Amber. She asked a number of appropriate questions based on the paperwork and my goals. She then fully explained the process. The room was a small couch, shelf & massage table. The floor had a small carpet over tile. A small room heater was also in the room. Amber began placing the needles in various locations, some had heat/aromatic moss burned on the ends of them. The process took approximately one hour. I found the experience very relaxing, and no longer had any pain in either of my hands. The negative thing about this location is how the rooms are set up. They have VERY thin walls and you can hear everything in all the other rooms and at the front desk. This is not very conducive to relaxing during the massage/acupuncture procedure and in meeting HIPPA regulations. I have returned four times since then and each time I have been very pleased with the results. The intervals without pain in my hands last about two weeks. read more

I got to try this place out through Groupon and it was the best place I've been too. I have been getting acupuncture and massages before for the last 5 years because I have neck, shoulder, and upper back pain. And this place is the best compare to many others I've been to! The staff there were all nice and friendly. The place is at the end of the small strip mall so you might not see it driving down the road. But it doesn't matter. Service and skill are the 2 things that are very important in this business. And they were awesome in both! My acupuncturist Lisa was super awesome! And she was very good and friendly. After the acupuncture, she gave a brief deep tissue massage of the sore area and did some other chinese "technique" using heat to help with the sore muscles and pain. Not only she helped me on the sore muscles but also on re-balancing my energy. If you are on the fence about acupuncture, give it a try. If you are needle shy, they have massages there too. This place is HORRIBLE!! The main problem I have with this place is their scheduling for massages. If you can go on Sat., it's fine, but if you work on weekends, they only have massages on Tues, or Thur., after 1 PM. I like to go in AM, so I can wash off later. The asian masseuse is good, but after I had one by the black lady, I was more sore than I went in. Then after my second massage the guy had the nerve to ask me for more money. Giving 2 stars instead of one because they were able to accommodate me for a 90 min massage after they had me down for a 60 min. Anyway- throughout the massage I could hear the front desk receptionist on the phone or talking to other customers. I could also hear the rolling squeak of my masseuses rolling chair. No clue why she needed it. I told her that I had some low back pain and she didn't even massage there. In fact I feel like I had a 90 minute leg/arm massage with only two different kneading techniques. I came in with knots in my back and left with them! The office staff was very friendly and caring. I met with Amber and she spent a lot of time to talking to me about what I wanted to work on. She was very friendly and I felt comfortable talking to her. She took her time to explain what she was doing the whole time. It was quite painless. It was AMAZING how I felt afterwards and for days. From the start, getting a massage booked was an arduous task. While in the process of trying to purchase the Groupon deal, the Groupon deal was taken down. Before even attempting that purchase I did a lot of research on all the offers available and checked reviews online, looked at company websites, etc. Luckily, there was a very similar Living Social deal which I was able to purchase. I called and asked to make a same day appointment for a thai massage. This was around 10:30am. They were able to offer me a 5:15pm appointment. I'm just happy they had an appointment available the same day, as I've been dying to get a massage! An hour later I received a call back from the person who scheduled my appointment. He was very apologetic and at first I thought he was calling about a mix up in the scheduling. However, he was calling to inform me that the Living Social deal was only for a "regular" massage. Not exactly sure what that means because I only have had deep tissue massage from my sister years ago when she was going through massage school. I specifically wanted a thai massage because of it's similarity to yoga which I've read about. And I do enjoy yoga, especially the restorative type. I checked the ad on Living Social as well as my actual voucher and NO WHERE does it state what type of specific massage it is valid for. There is also nothing stated about any restrictions for coupons on the AB Acupuncture website. The massage therapist, and possibly owner? got on the phone to explain what a "regular" massage was to me. It sounds like it incorporates deep tissue and I'm gonna guess Swedish since I read that is the most popular therapeutic massage. She assured me that it is a custom massage tailored for the person and that a customer's comfort is the most important. So still trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt, even though it does not exactly make me happy to be informed about a restriction I had no way of knowing about. Plus, on the AB Acupuncture website all the different massages cost the SAME! So if one is more specialized than the other why doesn't it cost more?! And if they all cost the same why can't I use the coupon on whichever massage I want??? Anyway, the massage was just ok. It was mostly a Swedish massage which was not what I wanted. read more

I love getting massages and I'm always looking for a good deal and found this place on Groupon. This place has saved me a lot of money!!! I'd been here 4X so far, with 4 different masseuse, and I just had to write a review for Precious. She gave a remarkable full body massage!!! At the beginning of the session, she sprayed a wonderful concoction of frankincense and lavender essential oils and that immediately put me in a relaxing state. The pressure was perfect, she was very attentive, and covered my entire body from head-to-toe. I didn't want the massage to end, but walking out of there I felt very relaxed and my body felt light, as if the stress melted off of my body... It felt great!!! Now I gave it 4 stars because it's not super quiet inside. There are plenty of massage rooms but the walls are thin. Make sure you get a room towards the back, but not next to the bathroom or receptionist!!! I was in the very first room one time, the closest to the male receptionist, and I was able to hear him conversing with another employee/customer. Now imagine if that went on the entire 60-90 minutes during your session? That will definitely get you out of relaxation so make sure to get the quietest room as possible. Finally, remember this is not $100-$160 massage so don't expect just that!!! This is a good place whenever you want a reasonable massage for a reasonable price, but tip generously if you're more than satisfied. read more

I bought a Living Social coupon for a one-hour massage here after reading the good reviews for this place. I'm sorry to say that the other Yelp reviews did not prepare me for the horrible experience I went through here. After filling out the preliminary paperwork, indicating that I like a lot of pressure, I was introduced to a "massage therapist" with a LOVELY face piercing, who I think was named Danielle. Danielle started rubbing my back softly, which I figured was just how she was starting out. However, this never developed into a real massage, no actual rubbing the muscles or anything. I told Danielle repeatedly that I wanted more pressure, and her attempt to do this was to dig her elbow into me. I've had massage therapists who lacked on pressure before, but never to this extent. I told her after 10 minutes that the massage wasn't doing anything for me, and she told me I should reschedule with a massage therapist who could go deeper, since she wasn't capable of doing so. I asked the guy at the front desk why I was even asked what sort of pressure I wanted if their massage therapist was completely incapable of applying any. I told him that I wouldn't have even qualified what I received as a massage, and that I wanted a refund rather than to reschedule with someone who could do a deeper massage. The guy defended Danielle's incompetence in her profession by saying that she had a different "style" and that not everyone is going to like the same style. He also said that "some girls just aren't strong enough to really get in there and apply pressure." I told him that massage therapists ought to be able to apply at least some pressure. If you can't do anything more than rub your hands up and down someone's back, DON'T BECOME A MASSAGE THERAPIST. I went through a hassle trying to get a refund with Living Social, since the man had marked the voucher as used already. It was irrelevant to Living Social that I was calling during the time I was scheduled to have the massage, indicating that I hadn't even been able to use the deal because the place was so awful. I was on the phone with Living Social for over half an hour, trying to explain to a robotic woman why I wanted more than just a few Living Social bucks to compensate me, while she kept telling me Living Social doesn't do refunds. After finally speaking with the woman's manager, I was able to get the manager to say she'd "make an exception" and credit me Living Social bucks for the amount of the massage; she repeatedly told me the bucks would appear in a few minutes. Ten hours later there were still no bucks, and I had to write and complain until I was finally given the credit (plus five more bucks for all the jerking around Living Social put me through). Groupon does allow for a refund policy, although it was a hassle figuring this out (so FYI). I'm definitely going to be preferring Groupon to Living Social from now on, because I don't want to completely lose my money on an awful deal should this happen again and should I be refused a refund entirely. Obviously some deals can be sub-par, but when a business isn't even capable of providing the services that it should, e.g. a massage place with an employee who can't give a massage, I think a refund is in order. read more

I've had many massages so I have something to compare to, and I give AB Acupuncture a solid A+ for massage. I had an 1-1/2 massage and Sarah did not slow down. She was very careful to follow my instructions on what hurt and what needed more pressure or less. I felt wonderful for the whole day after...my muscles felt much better for the whole week. I will definitely return, and I will ask for an acupuncture appointment to as I have had great results before for the arthritis pain in my ankles and for muscle knots in my shoulder.
