I was debating posting this, because the tattoo itself is fine. I do like it. And he was friendly during tattooing afterwards. But it's been bugging me. But it took almost an hour of arguing and fixing it to how I had already asked in the initial booking email to get to that point. I do not recommend going to Aartistic Inc in Winooski. I thought I was going to a tattoo ARTIST that would at least take the 2 seconds to read what his client wanted, not a tattoo copyist who just wanted to copy paste someone else's tattoo. I sent multiple reference photos (3) and explained what I wanted out of each photo prior to being booked, but when we arrived he basically was like "just pick one of the references and I'll copy it exactly". He even used the words "I'm not interested." I would have walked out if I didn't really want to get a tattoo on that exact day (our 11 year anniversary). Even with copying, he couldn't even at least be bothered to move one of the parts to the spot I had asked. (The sword being through the crown instead of the crown being above it) Until after being rude about it and me having to point it out in the email in front of his face that I in fact, did ask for that. He had papers printed of the wrong thing, I asked why they were like that and he had an attitude and was like "because that's how YOU asked for them" I just said "uh, no." And he went and pulled up my emails on a big tv screen and still tried to argue with me by pointing to my references I sent. I literally walked up to the screen and read off what I had asked for while pointing to it with my finger. He STILL CONTINUED to argued it because I sent the reference pictures and he "just goes by what picture I send". I said "well I didn't know you were just going to not read my email and just copy a reference image exactly." He said "that's what we do here." lol ok then say that and deny the booking, don't accept custom work if you don't do that. As soon as we walked in the door he had an attitude and was acting like we were a bother to him. Next time don't accept work if you don't want to do it? Every other tattoo I have I didn't have this experience. My thigh tattoo, the artist spent 5 hours drawing for me before tattooing it. And this dude couldn't even be bothered to read one sentence and copy paste one part. read more

Look for another tattoo shop in Vermont. There are plenty of them. I'm no expert but I have four tattoos and have scheduled plenty of tattoo and other personal service appointments to know that the way the anonymous Aartistic employee handled my attempted booking was all sorts of wrong. I reached out on a Monday for a Saturday appointment. I knew it was possible there were no openings, but I'd had a good experience with this shop in August (we worked with Will). So, I hoped we could get in. I was upfront that there were three of us. The anonymous person said the shop was very busy but s/he would check to see if the shop could get us in. In the meantime, s/he said it would be helpful if we could tell him/her what we want and send photo references if we had them. I responded quickly. Our request was simple, all text: 1. Matthew 7:12-14 2. [infinity symbol] + 1 3. 1938-2023 (under an existing tattoo) In response, s/he sent a link to myfonts.com and wrote "if you don't already have fonts picked out, we recommend this website." That was it. Not having heard whether we had an appointment, the following day, I followed up: "I assume y'all have time for us on Saturday. Is that correct? Is 5:00 okay?" In response, s/he wrote "We can check the schedule for you but we need all the detail before we schedule such as which fonts you want to have the three tattoo done in before we can schedule. Send that over we can give you quote and then confirm a time. The faster you send that info the more likely we can get you in on Saturday." I responded right away that they didn't need the fonts before scheduling an appointment. I promised to send font choices in advance and acknowledged there would be a minimum fee (which we would pay). I closed by saying if they could not accommodate us, they should just say that. S/he took to arguing with me about why they needed the fonts before scheduling an appointment. Not interested in arguing, I sent the fonts for two of the three tattoos. For the third, I noted that I wanted it to match an existing tattoo, that Aartistic's own artist picked out the font for me, and I sent a photo of my existing tattoo. S/he offered to ask Will but decided (without asking) he would not remember. S/he then asked some clarifying questions about our "designs." Having heard nothing, on Saturday, I asked if we had an appointment for that afternoon. S/he responded that they could get me in but I needed to send the font name for my tattoo: 1938-2023. I responded that I don't know the font so we could skip my tattoo. In response, s/he decided we needed to reschedule everyone! S/he said when we reschedule, we needed to send the font type and (for the first time) size and placement. I wrote "We are visiting from California. Please do not reschedule. This is a birthday gift for my son." I tried to call but nobody answered the phone. I then wrote that we would arrive at 5:00. I made note again of the two tattoos and fonts and said where each should be placed on the body (forearm and finger). S/he did not like that. S/he told me I was rude and bullish and I should go elsewhere. I pointed out that s/he was the one being rude and had strung me along from the start. Then s/he called me a bunch of names. Scheduling an appointment is not complicated. S/he could have handled this much better. Instead, the artist lost a quick $300+ for an hour and a half's work (maybe two hours). Note to Anonymous: I was able to get an appointment elsewhere with a quick text exchange: Me: Can I make an appointment for Monday morning? Him: I have 2:00. Me: okay, bummer, we are heading to the airport. Him: I can accommodate you at 9:00. Me: Perfect. Thank you. Here's the font we want, and it'll go on his forearm. We were in and out of his shop in 35 minutes and he was $180 richer. Like I said, there are plenty of options in Vermont. Choose wisely. read more

Had a great piercing experience at Aartistic. My friend and I went in as walk-ins and did not have to wait, Nobody was able to take care of us right away. He was very pleasant and asked what and where we wanted our piercings and took the time to ensure the placement was correct. It was a safe and sterile space. I went in as a walk in for a piercing and got seen right away. Gina did my piercing and she was super friendly and my piercing came out super cute. I also went in for some finger tattoos. They were done by Olive and she was very unprofessional. I needed a touch up which I already paid for during the first session and I called multiple times to schedule and either she wasnt there when she was supposed to be or she never returned my phone calls so I gave up. read more

First let me say I have 4 tattoos and working on two full sleeves. I've been in a lot of tattoo shops in a lot of areas but I came to Aartistic Inc on a whim. Isaac & Tim are the two artists I encounter most often. Both of them have very unique styles and both are worth giving a visit if you want some ink or some ideas brought to life. Out of all my friends tattoos and my tattoos I've gotten from Isaac & Tim, I didn't need a visit for any touch ups. Even though customers get free touch ups for life. There are two other artists here as well, Amanda and Tyre. I guess Tyre runs the shop, I've never met him but I've seen some of his work and it's amazing. I've also had the opportunity to see Amandas work and it's also a very unique style. Each of the artists I've encountered have been really awesome, easy to approach and very professional with their equipment. I've healed every time without a hitch and they are extremely sterile with every process. I highly recommend this parlor to anyone. read more

She was very helpful and was able to create the vision I had in my head without imposing too much of her own opinions on it. That being said, she also has an amazing eye and was great in helping me position the tattoos on my body. My experience has not been good in this shop both times I've gone. Once for my own tattoo and the second time with my wife. Racial conversations, conspiracy theories, tattooists watching TV while tattooing, and an uncomfortable atmosphere in general. Similar feelings amongst friends who have gotten work done there as well. I'm the type of person who likes when people redeem themselves so I tried again recently. I understand Covid is scary, but when you get aggressive and attempt to shut the door on someone's spouse, whose been vaccinated mind you; most people aren't going to want any part of that shop. I have been going to this tattoo shop for the past 4 years. I got my first tattoo here and I was very nervous. The staff treated me with respect, adding a consultation with me for an hour and a half just because they saw my nervousness. I have gone back 3 more times, and each time is just another reminder of how amazing it is there. My tattoos have needed very little touchup, the staff is efficient and makes me feel comfortable, and the parlor is very clean and well kept. I have never once regretted spending my time and money there. They are professional, knowledgable, warm, and welcoming. I have advised many of my friends to go there as well. Highly recommended. Stopped in yesterday to get a Dragonfly Tattoo. The receptionist was delightful but not really helpful. When I told her what I wanted and why, she asked me to find the image I wanted, check Facebook to determine which artist would be best and email the picture to that person. Seven family members got tattooed here on the same day. Out of the seven two almost completely lost their ink within a week and three needed touch up after a week. After being butchered at Event Horizon, done by Tooth although I was warned not to use him (ask for pics for proof-blow outs,bleeds,needle drags, limited to one style and not even good at it), I went here. Ty was amazing at getting me in, has a great deal of tattooing knowledge,... and a bonus for my political nerd self, he's highly educated in that world as well. This place is clean and sharp, great set up. Ty was very professional and polite and my emails were answered same day. I was in the next day for the tattoo. I've practiced tattooing before disability hit, have been tattooed by at least 12 different artists, and Ty was on point. His machine was set at such a perfect speed that it made my ears sing. He didn't force the needle, with the machine set perfect and a light touch I didn't feel a thing. I've had mosquito bites that hurt worse. The finished product was golden. I get asked almost every time I'm out in public if I can recommend a tattoo artist, I've never had a recommendation, just advice on who to avoid. Now I have an answer. Check out this guy's stuff online, then make an appointment. You won't regret it. Unlike the other shop I mentioned, you pay Ty with cash and not drugs. After having over $800 of work done by his underlings (and always being shuffled down the line to the least experienced apprentices) , I attempted to get tattooed by the much-lauded owner himself. Big mistake. He totally brushed me off in a 5 min "consultation" by saying, "oh yeah I can do that. Email me some images and we'll get started asap." Two months went by where he NEVER responded to or otherwise acknowledged the numerous emails I sent, as per his instructions. He finally emailed me to say he'd been busy and would i resend the images bc he couldn't find them!?! Major waste of time but in the end I found Event Horizon in downtown burlington where they do infinitely better work and also treat u with the mutual respect all humans and, indeed, customers deserve. read more

I had five circles in a line tattooed on my inner bicep, not an easy tattoo (try drawing a circle, let alone five in a line). The tattoo was perfect. No bleeding of ink, wobbly lines, anything. I live in NH but one of my friends suggested this shop so I went there. I live 4 hours away and while I was getting ready to leave, the artist called me to let me know they're running behind about 2 hours so don't get there until 3:30. At about 2:30 he called to ask where I was because they were expecting me. Probably should have been the first red flag. When I walked in, while it was a nice shop, the employees didn't even acknowledge us. The rest of the tattoo was fine by Tyre and he warmed up a bit as time went on. 2 months later, I decided to get a smaller piece that was just a shape w/ some line work while I was there for my touchup. When I arrived, they seemed confused and after they asked my name, they said they didn't have an appointment for me. I showed them the messages about the appointment and the confirmation and they said that it obviously wasn't communicated to them. After I got my touchup, Tyre said they were crunched for time and the apprentice would take the small piece because she could do it well. I agreed because I was tired and at this point was not about to fight. It went fine, but about a week later once it was healed, I realized that it was not filled well, the liked were skewed, and it was shaped incredibly odd. It was not a complex tattoo, but the messed it up pretty bad. Not going back. read more
