Meet the Business Owner: Jhon R.
I’ve been tattooing for more than 30 years. I started my career in Bogotá, Colombia, largely self-taught, at a time when there were very few opportunities to learn tattooing. I ran my own studio in Colombia for 17 years before moving to the United States, first arriving in Vermont. My journey later took me to Miami, where my daughter was born, then to Portland, Oregon, back to Miami, and eventually back to Vermont, where much of my daughter’s family lives and where I chose to build a home. Today, 100 Candles Tattoo is a private studio in St. Albans focused on custom work and a personal experience. My style is influenced by traditional and Japanese tattooing, bold color, botanical and Victorian botanical imagery, and Art Nouveau. I also created the Rail City Tattoo Fest to bring artists and the local community together.
