Even though this shop didn't have the tire we were looking for, we got a used one that was sufficient enough for us to get back home safely to Temecula. I have to say, I was extremely surprised at how fast and easy this was!! We weren't even there for 20 minutes and it was a done deal!! I've never been to a tire shop for less than an hour!! Love it!! The tire was super cost efficient, Diego provided excellent friendly service, and the wait was not even long at all!! High key, they get a lot of business here and I can see why. I've used multiple brand name companies for oil changes and many were basic at best - with the standard oil change and fluids top off (one place lost 2 bolts and another one didn't even screw in the oil filter properly so half the tank leaked on my driveway). Here at Mountain View Tires, they went above and beyond. I came in with a Groupon and they did a very thorough job checking the brakes, fluids, and did a tire rotation as well! While doing a basic maintenance inspection, they found some problems and explained everything very clearly. It totally slipped my mind I forgot to replace the front brakes where I only did my rear ones prior. They were able to replace my front brake pads and rotors within the same day! The price is very reasonable and they even threw in some coupons! There's also a warranty for 12k miles for the work. All in all, a very good job. I think I just found my new shop to keep my little Miata well maintained and running :) So thank you!

While they did fix the oil leak from the brake vacuum pump (with customer provided part), the rest of the experience was a disaster of poor diagnostics and unauthorized billing. * Unresolved Coolant Leak: Charged to replace the coolant flange, but the car leaked coolant immediately after picking it up. Basically felt like I had to figure the problem out before bringing it back in, and/or I wasn't believed that the issue was still happening. I called back a few days later after coolant level had dropped, was told it was air pockets. Refilled and waited another week. Lost another quart+ of coolant. We park it in the dirt so I placed a tray under the vehicle and caught quite a bit of coolant with an observed active drip a day after the car had been resting (this was all communicated to Kenni with a picture). At this point she said I could bring it in, as I felt like the diagnostic was being pushed onto me to not waste their mechanics time. * Unauthorized Shifter Cable: Replaced a shifter cable during the leak repair completely without my consent or prior authorization. * Defective Recheck & Dismissive Attitude: When I brought the car back, they drove it hot instead of letting it sit cold to locate the drip, then claimed they couldn't find anything. Rather than taking responsibility, they acted like it was my fault for owning the car and made it clear they didn't want to invest any more shop hours into actually solving the problem. * Surprise Diagnostic Fee: Ran a $60 chemical block test without my permission, billed me for it, and still couldn't identify the leak. The owner is personable and gives off a "family-like, straight shooter" vibe at the counter, but that friendly helpful demeanor vanished once things got complicated and time consuming for the shop. The right thing to do would be to offer some kind of refund, but since that was not offered by default for not resolving the issue, I am going to assume this happens more often than not on certain repairs and is not worth my time to fight or challenge other than leaving a detailed review to warn others.
