Milan has to be the ultimate veggies paradise! I have spent a small fortune in here over my…read morelifetime.
A very regular and favourite restaurant with many Asian communities, it's a very well trusted establishment with high quality food.
I've been going here for years with family and genuinely LOVE their food. They have a huge plethora of great Indian food, including; mixed thalis, take away Indian sweets, samosas, pakoras, curries, Vegetable wraps, snacks, rasmali.... etc.
My recommendation would be try the mixed thali at £4.95, which includes 2 curries of your choice, dahl, rice, yogurt, and 2 roti's or 2 naan breads. Great value, not too spicy and the taste is brilliant. For take away, try the paneer samosas ( if they have any left! ), and ask the attendant to make up a mixed box of sweets for you, you'll be hooked. And finally, the ice-cold Mango lassi to wash it all down with.
If you have any money left, ask for the chickpea curry, a medium sized box is enough for 3 people to share.
They also cater for special occasions, and on several visits I have seen customers pre-order up to 50 samosas to takeaway. There are always queues, lunchtimes are busy, and on special Hindu festivals, such as Diwali, you can't get into the shop, as it's packed out, and they queue goes onto the street.
It's extremely popular, and the food uses traditional authentic and fresh ingredients. The flavours are as you would expect, but they know good Indian cooking. Milan's has a name for itself, and you'll always find families, business men and even youngsters eating out in here on a date!
You will not be disappointed with the food, service and quality. Maybe 1 day I can buy some shares in this business....
