Went here on Tuesday to take wire in. The process was pretty easy. They have some cool stuff up front and the people working there where pretty chill. There scale was correct too. At least for my 300 pound run. Tuff area though, saw a bunch of cops on the way in and lots of homeless around. It's east oakland not somewhere I go alot but still got paid. read more

This is by far the best recycling center. Today was my first time at this one and I will never go to another place. You pull up, they empty your recycles into bins FOR YOU and then take them to the scale. The process is quick and painless. Adam at the weigh station gets you in and out with an awesome attitude. The prices are pretty high too! I collected a cool $620 for some scrap wire today. Easiest $$$ I've ever made. Keep up the awesome work folks! read more

Aaron Metals recycling center in Oakland has always been spacious, organized, & clean for its environment with a helpful & friendly staff! WHERE: Off 105th, btw San Leandro Blvd & Edes Ave; right next to some railroad tracks, but not the ones along BART. Not too hard miss, but you should browse your navigation instructions before you attempt to drive out. My sis tried to "wing it" on her 1st trip, but realized she had to have missed the turn somewhere...she figured it out tho ^_^ CENTER & SERVICE: Pull your vehicle inside & find parking on the left side closest to the booth. Grab your bag of cans, have your CA ID ready, bags get unloaded & weighed, give ur ID to staff employee at booth, get receipt, then walk over a few meters to office, next available window, turn your receipt in for cash, & you're done. Friendly staff from the moment you drive in to direct traffic, to the time you get your cash. Keep up the great work team! RECYCLING CANS: I've favored this place a loooong time to recycle cans & you should too! Aaron Metals runs a tight ship. With all those grocery store parking lot recycling centers closing this Oakland firm is the best place. Always was great but not as convenient as some of those store sites. You should drive carefully in getting there and you'll find the location itself is well run and safe. Safer than many of those former grocery store locations because Aarons doesn't allow people to hang out or loiter. Also it has the best prices paid for aluminum cans which more than compensates for the extra gas to drive there. Week days never seem to be very busy so you can get in and out within 15 minutes. Only wish they'd take bottles, but I understand they do so at their Hayward location. I used to find coupons offering a extra 10 cents a pound, but I've been told they no longer issue such coupons. Instead they just give a fair price for everyone. Good company with nice employees. read more

For better or for worse, we drink a lot of canned fizzy water. Fortunately we have the good sense to save our cans to recoup the CRV. Please note this location only accepts cans, not bottles or plastic. Aaron metals is historically busy on the weekends but not unmanageable and very well organized by their team of employees. The refund value offered is fare and given in cash. Don't forget your photo ID. We love saving up or cans for a few months and enjoy walking away with money for Saturday date night. read more

Great service for any big metal recycling job. I had a big 400 ft food manufacturing equipment to take out. It took over 20 full size scrap metal boxes and 2 flatbed trucks. All I had to do was to load the equipment in the boxes and on the flat bed trucks; the rest was arranged and done by Aaron. Ask for Brian. He will take care of you! Brian was professional, straight forward, and no gimmicks. He made my job easier. read more

Aarons and your stupid mask policy! Hey why don't you treat your reoccurring customers a little better you got assholes running around telling people to put on a mask when your county doesn't even mandate it! I asked the guy nicely if I could have one since they were in the middle of weighing my copper but he made me get out of line to go buy one, but you don't take debit card so I couldn't get one so I got back in line with my shirt over my face, but here comes asshole again! Kicks me out of line. What is the fucking difference it's covering my face! Fuck you guys making your employees wear that shit in the heat!... FJB read more

Quick and easy service. It's hard to find a recycling place in Northern California like this spot

I never thought I'd be reviewing a metal recycling station, but here I am. This team has it all together. They are super organized, meet you right away and sort and take it all to be weighed and dealt with. Very friendly staffers and I've even made a bit of cash from the exchange. So a win for everyone. Thank you Aaron! read more

I had a tough time finding a recycler or metals dealer who would both accept the year's supply of empty aluminum cat food tins and reimburse me in some way for the metal value. Aarons Metals was the only one of the many I contacted who filled the bill. It was an experiment, saving Casey Cat's alulminum cat food tins for a year and then actually involving myself in the process of returning the metal to reuse. Aaron's was efficient, and all the employees, without exception, were cheerful, efficient and helpful. If you need to recycle metals I recommend them wholeheartedly. read more

Found Aaron Metals Company on recycleworks.org as a place to recycle Christmas lights. I brought a grocery sized bag full, planned to just drop them off, and was almost forced to take money for them! Sure - now I'm $4 richer! This place was buzzing with contractors and cars and trucks going in, dropping off loads, and coming out with green, green, green! It was intimidating and chaotic for a first timer, but there's plenty of staff to guide you and don't be surprised if you leave inspired to buy a used pick up and circle your 'hood looking for scrap metal to sell. read more

My family and I have been coming to Aaron Metals for our can/bottle recycling needs for over 20 years. We've always gotten a good amount of money for our return and the speed of service is phenomenal. It can get pretty packed, though. And parking is minimal with 10-20 slots inside. The work areas have always been clean when I have come here, and they guarantee to pay the best. It can get a bit noisy as the machines crush the cans, the workers move loads around, or or when the train goes by, but you can still hear what the person next to you is saying, at certain times. This place is located in the ghetto and the homeless are frequent supporters of the business, but the workers do try to get them to stop their panhandling. They know that you got money, but just try to avoid them and leave once you're paid read more

I don't have the prices to compare to anything but the folks who run this place are excellent! I came in on a Saturday after closing time and they still let me drop everything off. Monday morning my slip was all ready for me. If you have an ET card and forgot it, you can ask for them to look it up on their computer so you can get paid the same day. read more

My husband and I go to Aaron's all the time they pay the best however the owner who is a white man constantly harasses my husband my husband is a welder who is a member of the union yet every time we go the owner asked my husband for his union card even though he's already in the system and has been in the system for over year he is always asking forall kinds of documentation yet the white owner never bothers his own people he harasses us every time I wish there was other places that paid as much as Aaron so we wouldnt have to deal with this every time we go there where a regular customer however the harassment is very uncomfortable . Actually he shows his union card and ID every single time but we see lots of people that the owner does not bother or harass and question every single time we go I don't see him bothering others . I have witnessed it myself on a regular basis . So SMH read more

I always go to aarons metal because they pay well and are the FASTEST. I bring in copper wire 3 times a year in macro bin used to haul wine grapes. There is approx 800 lbs in each bin and aarons metals has forklift that is not only equiped with adjustable hyrdaulic fork spreaders, they also have a rotator on them. With ease, the forklift adjusted the forks to fit my abnormal size container and then "spilled" the copper wire into one of their wheeled carts ready for the scale. Arrons metal's fancy equipment sure made thing easy. read more

I got a couple of big bags full of beer cans in the kitchen. I refer to them as my "retirement fund". The last time I went to this wonderfully-named place I took away $80. Yes, it is in a part of Oakland that I tend to avoid, be aware of that, but if you have more than ten pounds of aluminum cans (buurrrp!) you can print out a coupon from the website and get a bonus. This place is hectic but they have a experienced staff who will guide you through the process. It's very near to 105th and San Leandro Ave, but the part where San Leandro Ave goes underground (I got lost the first time I tried to go there) Your best bet is to follow the directions from the website! They also take other metals, but I haven't gone that route. I have heard the market for recycled stuff has flattened out, but any beer cans have CRV, and are still a good investment. The best part about this place it the name. I love it!!!! read more
