And get this: instead of awful elevator muzak, they've got Dave Matthews Band and Pearl Jam softly serenading you--like your teeth are getting a VIP concert while getting poked and prodded. Huge props to Sherry at the front desk, she runs the joint like a boss; Jeneae, the assistant who's basically Dr. Thompson's right-hand legend; and a dream team of hygienists who don't just scrape your teeth--they basically give them a five-star facial. When they finally got called back the assistant explained that it was going to cost $425 out of pocket for a mandatory CT scan that insurance would not cover. Again, this needed to be told to us up front as we have never been charged for this out of pocket by any other specialists given the cost of service we end up receiving. Given this My wife and daughter left an hour after we arrived without seeing the doctor. Absolutely terrible experience and customer service. Very unprofessional and lacking in transparency and communication. They were very adamant about my wife taking her herself, yet negligent in communicating fees or seeing us in a timely manner. The reception staff was very friendly and welcoming when I was making my appointment and when I checked in. The hygienist who took the x-rays and completed the cleaning was very friendly and gentle. Dr. Winburn came in at the end to review the x-rays and my mouth. He was also very gentle and I appreciated his calm demeanor. Calling the morning before Thanksgiving and not being regular patients I was a bit concerned but they told us to get there as quickly as we could and they would see us.
