This review is about professionalism and communication. Despite showing up on time, tipping, and maintaining positive interactions at every visit, I was abruptly told that I should no longer return because I was "not a good fit." No explanation was given, and there was no effort to discuss the situation or retain my business. Ending a long-term customer relationship without notice or clarification is unprofessional and creates unnecessary confusion. Basic communication would have gone a long way toward handling this appropriately. I am leaving this review so others are aware and can make an informed decision. Transparency and customer service is something this business needs significantly improvement.

Now in my forties, yes, its ok to say... My forties... have brought many changes, from opening my own art consultation business, publishing my own fine art magazine to grandiose family adventures. Well, this was the year that I decided to try Hamilton & Co, owned by Boerne-ite, Ben Schooley. I was previously told of the exceptional customer service, the complimentary beverage service, the décor and much more. In planning for this new 'experience' I took some prep time and grew out my hair past the point of social professional acceptation. I went in about 20 minutes early for my appointment on Blanco Rd. in Boerne and wanted to check out what I was getting myself into. I was happily greeted by the front receptionist and asked about that adult beverage I would like to sample. I opted for the whiskey on the rocks. I sat down on a very comfortable couch in front of a nice large screen T.V. playing the local sports channel. On the table adjacent to me was a wide array of magazines to flip through while I sipped my drink. Yes, issues of Cordillera Ranch, Explore, and Dominion magazines immersed me in the hill country culture of the SMV publishing efforts. With no delay and right on the time of my schedule appointment, my stylist, Morgan called me back to the chair for a quick consultation. In the transition from the reception area with the periodicals and big screen, I was able to squeeze in "Can I have another drink", which was promptly delivered when I arrived at the 'chair'. Morgan was attentive to what I was trying to accomplish with a simple 'clean-up' approach. Yes, the wisps, broken ends, fluffy-ness and overall maintenance was evident. Morgan explained the top tier professionalism of Hamilton & Co.'s culture as she tilted the chair, placed a warm towel smelling of sweet essential oils on my face and began the journey I had been avoiding for almost 30 years. After the gentle shampooing and relaxing scalp massage, I was up-righted and we launched into small talk as Morgan began to cut. We discussed the shop, the guiding principles of the business and other things that were unique to Hamilton & Co. With her explaining every step, from warm towels and shampooing to massage, cut and straight razor finishes, I was confident in her abilities and set at ease with trusting someone else to take the scissor reins for a change. I left knowing I would be back. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my experience at Hamilton & Co. I would definitely recommend it to my own clients and colleagues.
