The vehicle needed to be towed from Evergreen/Northwestern service drive to a repair shop in Canton. He was given a towing rate of $250 (outrageous) and was told they would be there within the hour. I arrived at 1pm to sit with him. At 2:15pm (1:15 later) we called for an ETA. Was told by a very unconcerned young lady, that she wasn't the one on the road and couldn't give an exact estimate. But the truck was currently dropping off another vehicle and the drive time from there to our location was 22 minutes. At 3:15pm (2:15 later) we phone again. Was told the same thing but that there was no ETA, and when the driver was on his way, he would text us. At 3:45pm (2:45 later), we received a text asking for our location when that information had already been provided to the dispatch. Instead, we called back to cancel the towing. We were able to reach T&Ts Towing who arrived in 10 minutes and offered us a much more reasonable towing rate and with a flatbed truck. I will never contact this company again, and it's unclear how Henderson got a 4.1 Yelp rating.

Let me tell you a little story about Sol's so a young person had their Nissan cube act up trans…read moreoverheated common problem with the cubes. Fine mechanics took the chance to stick it to somebody that had no idea what they had giving them a very confusing expensive option, then started trying to charge him 50 bucks a day storage after what they knew would happen not being able to pay the repair bills or the storage fees they gladly took the car resulting in the kid having a sign over the title. Bingo bango Nice Nissan cube with an easy fix that they'll probably make a bunch of money on. Now the kids out the 5 grand they paid for that car not very long ago. Trying to save up again to buy a good car hopefully not get taken advantage of.

Henry, who must be the proprietor despite the name of the shop, is an old-school grease monkey who is plain-spoken and quick with a quip. He and his crew are thorough, polite and efficient. Here is the caveat: you are paying a premium for the service and "staying local," as the term is used. In other words, an oil change may cost a bit more at Sol's that. A Quick-Lube chain shop. That premium becomes pro rata higher as the repair becomes more expensive. I believe in supporting local business, and I am very loyal to Sol's, but the last time I went in and learned the a/c compressor needed replacement on my Lincoln, it would have been between $600-$1,000 more at Sol's than other shops nearby. (Sol's was $2,250; I found competitors charging anywhere from $1,350-$1,750.)
