We had another repairman out in the past that stated he didn't know what the problem was and thus couldn't bill us. We then called Affordable Appliance Repair in Terre Haute. Before the serviceman even came out, my husband asked over the phone if he was qualified to work on GE refrigerators and he said yes. This serviceman was at our home for 2 hours stating he wasn't certain what was wrong but he "thinks it's the control board". He had no diagnostic tools and in particular, nothing to test the board, thus this was his assumption. He suggested we replace the board as he "thinks this is the problem" in which we replied that we are not going to pay to replace something under an assumption. He finally packs up and proceeds to write us a bill for $85 for not fixing a thing. I stated I would be agreeable to paying his gas to show up but he hasn't properly diagnosed or fixed anything. He the states - "well, I want to replace your board but you weren't agreeable so it's not my problem you don't want the item fixed". I pointed out that I could have assumed it was the computer board without calling him and ordered/installed it myself, but I thought I was calling somebody who said he was qualified to diagnose the issue to avoid spending money on unnecessary parts. His answer- well if I replaced the board and that's not the issue, I won't charge you a service call to try another option". To which I said- so you're not going to charge me another service call, but I will continue to pay your for parts until you find the right one ? He just shrugged at this point and continued to write his handwritten receipt charging us $85 for wasting our time and money and fixing nothing. Oh, and his moto on his fb and site is : If I can't repair it, you don't pay! Please go elsewhere for your repairs.

7/18/2024: I am EXHAUSTED dealing with these guys. Just left…read morea voicemail with them again as when call them, 99% of the time it goes to voicemail and 1% get to talk to a human. And anyways, they never return voicemails. Let me start from the beginning our service with them... On July 8, 2024 - First call was made my by my husband to request their service as our refrigerator section of the fridge was NOT cooling anymore. The freezer was working as expected. My husband talked to Pat and Pat said that he will call back. It took 5 days of every day calling to finally have someone come in to look at our refrigerator on Friday, July 16 after 6 pm. The tech supposedly fixed it & within less than 24 hours, it goes bad again. So on Monday, July 15, I started calling them back & they either pick up the phone and say they will call us back, which these guys notoriously NEVER do. OR it goes to their voicemail that apparently no one from their office ever returns the call to the customer. After calling 13 times on Monday, July 15, Li (one who picks up the phone other than Pat / Nick) finally committed that someone will come on Wednesday, July 17 between 1-6 pm. Then yesterday (7/17/24) morning, Pat from their office calls & confirms that their tech will come between 1-3 pm. And guess what - NO ONE showed up nor got any call that the tech won't be able to come. I called today morning already 3 times & it already goes to their voicemail. Left another voicemail. Jeannie's TV & Appliance is the the the WORST WORST most IRRELIABLE business. NEVER EVER work with them!

Had no insight on how to fix the…read moreissue and left within 25min with no resolution. 24hrs after no word 48hrs after no word 52hrs after I called and no answer 66hrs they called back with no resolution I've been without a washer for 3 extra days because they couldn't diagnose the issue. If you want to fix something, in a timely manner, don't expect it. At this hour they still have no resolution. Don't worry they will send an email to the manufacturer of the machine and not keep you updated. Maybe should have sent over a fax, used USPS, or a crow. Trash service.
