Came in to renew an International Driver's Permit (IDP). While an IDP appointment cannot be scheduled online, it is a 'walk in' service. Arrived with all requirements, total processing time less than 15 minutes. This review is really for the front desk / customer interface who processed my application. Lisa was a rock star, friendly and professional, great smile. Just giving her a shout out - if you need an IDP - this is a good location to grab one. Larry David / old man rant: While I pay the $20 and take the permit abroad just in case - not sure how the DoS / AAA keeps lobbying congress to keep this process in place. Having an IDP abroad is the equivalent of having your seat in the upright position for landing, probably does nothing, but why take the chance. read more

I had my homeowners policy with AAA North Branch from April 2022 thru 2024. We switched to Stare Farm in 2024 because State Farm was far more affordable. We are selling our AZ townhouse and I need a clue report from the time we lived here. I had to contact both companies. State Farm provided the clue report in 15-minutes. I ordered the AAA clue report from Brittany on 3/25 at 11:00 am and was told she would email the report within 48-hours. On 3/27 I reached out to AAA again since I didn't get the report. Spoke to a Tosha who said there is no record of my call. I had to start all over again. Problem is I can't sell my home without that report. We never filed a claim so the report should be very short. read more

Meanwhile the boss with the most displeasing look on her face all the time sits in her office and doesn't address any issues. I had come in to get my passport pictures taken and was helped by a young man, Emilio. Not only was he quick but he was extremely knowledgable about my trip to Japan. During my entire visit to this branch, Emilio was the only person that was friendly, professional, and helpful! Something needs to be done about the atmosphere in that office because it is beyond toxic and being run by someone who can't interact with customers to save her life. My name was misspelled for the car rental and it was impossible for me to adjust my reservation online or on an app. Furthermore, no phone service available other than roadside assistance. I just moved from CA to Arizona. It was a nightmare to stay insured with AAA , just because I changed my address. AAA disabled my online login. Then as soon as I buy my AZ auto & home policies, the agents want nothing to do with me. I asked for a paper copy of my auto proof of insurance cards TWICE. Both times, never received them. Then they tried to sell a $3000+ security system. I said I didn't want it, then they said "when can we come & install it ?" That is no longer the case. I've been a loyal AAA Insurance member for NINE years. I had no tickets or accidents for years, until 2019, when I was rear-ended by a driver who tailgated me for 2 miles or more. He received the ticket, yet my AAA Insurance Company found me 50% at fault. Now I'm stuck with an insurance company that I don't want to have anything to do with for 5 years. I was eligible for some discounts which I have not been receiving for years until recently. I found out a year or more later, which was by accident, that AAA has an Accident Forgiveness benefit which I never was informed about. WHY? I'm not sure what my agent does other than collect commissions off of my insurance policies while kicking back in her office. I have had to call AAA for road side assistance twice in years past. The AAA dispatcher tells me in both instances that they will arrive within the hour. Two hours later a tow truck shows up, but it is some fly by night company. The branch that I have been going to for years is now closed and I have to drive clear across town for anything and everything. Last, but certainly not least my auto insurance renewal just went up $516, while homeowners renewal just went up $321! When is AAA changing their name to ZZZ TRIPLE ZILCH! read more

Got my truck stuck in the sand yesterday afternoon, spent 3 hours. Decided to call AAA. Not even 20 minutes later David showed up. Due to thick desert and narrow curvy dirt road , David was unable to drive his truck to our location. So I met him near the main road and we walked thru the desert to the truck. Admitting that I'm an AAA member (American Automobile Association, not its liquorous counterpart) seems as cool as wearing Large Marge bloomers that go all the way past my belly button. But having a junky car has made AAA a necessity. Junk car needs a jump? Call AAA! Junk car gets stuck for no reason and needs a tow? Call AAA! Junk car's driver has a nervous breakdown, because she doesn't know where she's going and her cell's dead and she doesn't have a map - call AAA! On a Friday afternoon we stop by the AAA to get a couple of maps, in order to prevent my next vehicular nervous breakdown. Going to an AAA is much like visiting the post office, or another government institution. You got long lines of irate people waiting and few clerks available. The customers don't know what they want, and in Tucson, where the median age is older than the collective age of all of the hiking boots I've ever owned, the AAA works in siesta slow motion. An elderly man ahead of shuffles in and demands to see all the staff who are not working there on that particular day, naming them one by one by describing what they look like and wore and not by name. Another service rep speaks to a customer slowly, in case the customer can't catch what she's saying through her hearing aid and myopic lenses. Once I do get to the front of the line, the service rep is helpful and overloads me with maps and books I can carry in my flabby arms. AAA also provides travel service and has ratings for different motels/hotels in their TourBook. And as an AAA member you'll get all of this info for FREE. As I troddled off to my car with my new maps and books, feeling my large marge lady bloomers bunch up at my crotch, I'm comforted in the knowledge that one day, the Large Marge bloomers will be age appropriate, and I will fit right in with the other customers at the AAA Tucson. read more

AAA never fails to disappoint us in there service and I truly feel scammed from their subpar membership. I have been a member of AAA for about twelve years and they never fail to disappoint us in their services or their so called membership discount. We have tried to use their membership discounts, but their no discount or benefit. As far as I can tell they are marking up services that are subcontracted for extra profit for them. Their rental car discount is a joke. Again they must be marking up the fees, because they are always the most expensive. I absolutely truly believe all the extra benefit services are just fluff to make their towing insurance seem like a "GREAT DEAL". Also don't let them sale you one of their battery, they are junk! I have witness AAA causing many Tucson auto repair shops to go out of business due to their greedy ways. What they did is they sold membership for large amounts of money to independent auto repair shops and in return they would tow their members in to their shops. That scam worked well for decades. Then AAA decide to open their own shops one on the North West side and later another on the Eastside. After they open they took their mailing list and tows to their AAA shops. I guess there is no honor among thieves. Their auto repair shops are no benefit or savings to their members, but only another money maker for AAA. I have only kept my membership with AAA for my wife and to keep from getting the call from her if she has a car a problem. I could write a book on how horrible their service is, but what I'm really tried of is them push us to use their shops. After today I'm done with AAA, we called them and guess what they trying to steer us to their repair shop. They sent out an AAA tow truck that was very dirty and rough looking that was huffing white smoke out from it hood. The driver looked like he was homeless with dirty clothes, T shirt and ripped jeans. After the driver was rude to my wife, refused us to watch him load our vehicle and then told us "I don't have to tow our vehicle". Then he left honking his horn and yelling god only know what. We call AAA back and were told they refused to tow our vehicle because I hurt the driver's feelings. As my wife as my witness and my hand to god, I was completely reasonable until the driver told me 'I DON'T HAVE TO TOW YOUR VECHICE". After the "BS FROM AAA",I called the first tow company on Google, they showed up in ten minutes, had a very nice truck, driver look and acted very professional. Also didn't mine us watching him load our vehicle on his truck and only charged us $45.00. I am sending AAA the bill, but doubt they will pay. read more

We have been members of AAA for over 20 years, and we stop in and pick up the information we are looking for to plan trips. We get the tour books and use them to plan activates, places to eat and stay. We often get the road maps to see how we can go differently to see more things. We check on discounts and see what is available, and often return to buy the discounted tickets. They also have a wonderful travel agency that can plan everything, and we have used them in the past. read more

Requested assistance while in Europe regarding acquiring our obtained Inter Natl Drivers license number only. We are seniors stranded having forgotten our recently acquired, at this office, license at home. A mistake compounded by their lack of assistance. We requested our license number (all that is needed to rent auto) .. NO RESPONSE from this issuing office from any of their 'international' agents (read 0 out of 4 contacted). Truly a simple email request, we just needed the number of the license that is surely on file in their computers. We were/are shocked, the euro auto rental agency is/was shocked. A total disregard from this office to our awful plight, helping to ruin our life trip. How dare they. Read: no response to our multiple requests from this office. Obscene neglect. This office gave me a Trip Tik with directions that were disastrously wrong. We carefully followed the detailed directions that were supposed to take us to Homewood Suites in La Quinta, CA, but instead dumped us in a residential neighborhood about ten miles away. We had to call HS to get directions to them. The cost to us was more than an hour lost. I don't see how we can ever again trust AAA's driving directions, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else. This was miserable service by an apparently incompetent office. Giving driving directions is supposed to be one of AAA's core functions, and they just can't do it. read more

We used our local AAA office again for passport photos for a toddler and high school student and were pleased with the results. I had called in advance and told they take customers on a walk-in basis. We were warned that they couldn't guarantee a good photo with a young child, as it depends on the child's ability to stand still and look forward, but Derryl was able to help get a great shot. My review as a 4/5 is just reflective of our wait time, as a number of other agents weren't trained to do photos and we needed to wait for an agent who was, so a number of customers were able to go ahead of us. Not great to wait with a toddler, but we got in and out in less than 30 minutes, so not bad. Cost was roughly $10 for member photos. read more

Had to wait 30 minutes past the appointment time. I thought travel agents were supposedly knowledgeable if they specialized in a certain area. I won't use them. Spoke to an agent in the Tucson office in person and we were all excited about the great service we anticipated getting because she was going to email us itineraries, information, etc. for an upcoming trip to Hawaii. The first day or two we did get some information on a "package," then when we started narrowing down dates, places where we wanted to stay, etc., it apparently got to be too much work for the agent. We wanted first class airline and four star accommodations which was going to require some customization as it is outside their normal run of the mill package deal, and it's been a week and we never heard back from her. read more
