    Enterprise Rent-A-Car

I almost rated this a 4-star, but I'm giving it a 5. Let me tell you about our experience…read more... This was my first time renting a car myself. When my mom said she could only get a Tahoe from the Enterprise near her, I whipped into the Enterprise near me (Peter's Creek) and I talked to the manager and another employee to secure a larger SUV for a trip we were taking. I booked this rental two months in advance and was assured it would be there and ready the morning I needed it. I was promised a Grand Wagoneer (or comparable for seating of 7 plus cargo space). It was there the morning I went to pick up, except it we couldn't have it because it needed an oil change. So the lady helping us tried to give us an SUV the size of my personal car. Which was seating of 7 with no cargo space and wasn't what we had reserved. Finally after them hunting around, they found a car for us "across the road." But it needed to be cleaned. In a hurry, the windows had junk all over them and the floor was nasty, but I cleaned it up in my driveway at home. This whole process took an hour and for the trouble, we were given 10% off. Fair enough. And we ended up with a Grand Wagoneer L which seated 8 plus plenty of cargo space. Upon return we were late. I knew we would be, and figured we'd be charged. No big deal. We knew what we were getting into. When we brought it back we made mention of the slick tires on the car. We went through a mess of rain on our trip, but thankfully we didn't end up in any danger. To even out the trouble of the tires, which we weren't expecting anything from-we just wanted them to be aware so the next person didn't end up in any danger, they only charged us for a half additional day rather than a complete day. That was super nice, and they didn't have to do that. I've always heard Enterprise prides themselves on customer service and I believe it! I will definitely use this Enterprise again and recommend them to others!

Been to this location a couple of times now, and this being a bad week where I totaled my SUV one…read moreday and got my other car broken into the next, I was in need of a rental. My insurance made a reservation for the rental as I was on my way to the location, and they had it in their system by the time I arrived. It was a bit of a wait, as they were cleaning my rental and selection of rentals seem to be at a dearth these days. Because what isn't? I'm not sure what the grizzled veteran's issue is, but I didn't share that experience at all. I also don't see anything in his review that specifies what was so "racist." Seems like someone who just loves to whine for special treatment. Or perhaps he is the racist one... Anywho, the staff here have been friendly, helpful, and engaging, and they were also very apologetic about the wait. I didn't feel like the wait was too long, especially since we needed to pull a couple of switches because the first vehicle they had for me was only a 2-door and I have kids with car seats. They only had pickup trucks available, but that's fine with me as long as it qualified for my insurance daily cost limit. They had a second vehicle available with 4 doors, but upon inspection they noticed the temporary plate was ripped half off. I suppose they could've just swapped a plate, but they went ahead and switched to a third vehicle that was just finishing getting cleaned. After inspection and taking my deposit (via CREDIT CARD, Mr. Angry Vet!), I was back on the road and back towards putting my life back together! The vehicle, a Toyota Tacoma, wouldn't have been my first choice, but I will say the interior is very clean. So far, no complaints from this location. **Just an update to point out the other aforementioned review has been removed, and you have me to thank for that, slap-nutz!

    Big Kev’s Moving

We really had the best of intentions hiring Big Kev. We like to support small and local businesses…read moreand the prices seemed reasonable. Unfortunately, this was the biggest mistake we've made in a very long time. The movers who showed up that day were friendly, but that was the only good thing about hiring this "company". I sent a specific and detailed list of items to be moved and the owner, Kevin, estimated a 4 hour job based on that list. He rented a 26 foot U-Haul for the job based on this estimate as well. He was not present on the day of the move, but sent two other movers. The 4 hour estimate turned into 9.5 hours by the end of the day, and the items I had listed to be moved did not all fit in the truck, so some things had to be left behind. When the crew arrived at our destination, a new construction neighborhood, they drove the truck up onto the yard across the street from us while attempting to back into the driveway, destroying the neighbors' newly laid wet sod into a muddy pit. Not a great start for us, as we had not even met these new neighbors yet. I had reached out to Kevin to come help his team unload the truck that evening, since we were already double the time estimated and the price was climbing by the minute. Instead of settling into our new home that evening, we had to be up early to drive the hour back to our apartment the next day to help him load up the rest of our belongings into his truck, as well as our truck. This was unlike any hired mover experience we'd ever had. Not only did the job drag out for many hours past the estimate, then we had to go back the next day and take a truckload of things ourselves. Good thing we also have access to a pickup truck because all the items would not have fit in my sedan. We have tried and tried to get Big Kev to work with the people across the street to get the lawn repaired, but he is refusing to make this mistake right, and he was reluctant to put a claim through insurance. He has had plenty of opportunities in the ONE FULL MONTH since the move. We never saw any proof of insurance in this whole ordeal, though the company is advertised as being insured and bonded. We have countless broken items, paid well over the original estimate AND the yard across the street is still not repaired. We had a new washing machine that was only a few months old. They dropped it while unloading it from the truck, putting three large dents in the front and sides, but would not take anything off the total on the day of the move because "the damage was only cosmetic". We had not plugged in the washing machine or tried to see if it worked before they made that claim. We are very disappointed in this whole experience. We chose a Yelp Guaranteed business because we thought that was on the safe side, but we have had nothing but stress over this. While we are very sad and discouraged over the state of our own personal items, we are more concerned with making the issue of the damaged front yard right again for our new neighbors. When I tried to check in with Kevin about the neighbor's property, he said that he "has it handled". It is not handled. There are good reviews here but please save yourself the hassle and avoid this company to handle your move. I've seen no evidence of being "bonded and insured" since he was so adamant about not wanting to put a claim through insurance to make things right with the destroyed lawn and your inevitably damaged property will remain damaged. The "Yelp Guarantee" does not mean anything, so don't let that trick you because they are no help in this situation and do not hold those businesses with the Yelp Guarantee stamp to any kind of standards. Original Quote: 4 hours at $120= $480 Truck rental fee: estimated $100-$110 Quote Total: Est $590 Actual Charges: 9 hours at $120= $1,080 Truck Rental fee: $200 Total Charged: $1280 Additionally, we now have to replace the broken items and repair damages out of pocket. Please just pay a little more to a reputable company who will take responsibility for their actions

I was charged for the fuel that was not in the truck. never received totals on the trucks I rented. The owner of the place where truck was picked up I spoke with to get fuel straight he went off and said we was not allowed to rent any Penske trucks. He said we upset lady and the hiker which I will not mention his name the owner said hiker told him he had to get my son and I out of office as I was irate. He bolds faced lied as he was on phone with Winston Salem and never said anything he said lady did not know what she was doing as she lost key to truck, so we all had to man handle car trailer to change trucks just to move it back to original truck. Beware they talk nice in person, but they backstab you like hiker did. Rent a U-Haul. been renting Penske for over 40 yrs. never a problem like these 2 places. Can not believe they let this place in North Wilkesboro be a rep for there company.
