My biggest complaint is that when I was talking to them on the phone a few days before I went, they didn't mention that they had moved! So I showed up at the old location and they were not there! Mom and I went here to renew her handicap pass. The parking lot was empty on a weekday at 1115am. There was a greeter right when you come into the building; he was very nice. Mini offices lined two sides of the main bull pen and lots of seats to sit and stand inside. We expected to wait and were pleasantly surprised how quick it went. Everyone was very nice. The parking is shared with Trader Joe's and a bunch of other small businesses so it does get a bit packed. Walking in, there was a wait- I was a bit nervous as a woman was loud and shouting at the employees that she had been waiting a long time and was getting impatient as people were being called before her. I checked in at the front, took a seat and no later than 4 minutes I was called to the front. I came in to transfer the title of my car, and the gentleman at the front was so helpful and quick! Honestly it was painless and cost $23! It was amazing! I can't recommend heading in the this branch as the employees know exactly what they're doing! Friendly staff but absolutely useless for out-of-state title transfers. They cannot give you the VIN-verification paperwork to take to the DMV (only good for title transfers at AAA apparently) and were unable to complete OAS title-transfer for a pickup truck. Ah AAA. That last bastion for paper maps (Who remember the trip tic?) and expedited DMV services. I have had a long history with AAA, dating back to when I was 16 years old and I had just gotten my drivers license. My dad handed me a AAA card and said, this was an important part of being a driver and you just never know. While I still pull paper maps for trips (and lets face it, cell phone coverage is still not 100%), the real gem is the DMV services. Its simply way faster to get your DMV stuff done here. You still may have to wait but its a fraction of the time. That being said its not a 100% coverage of what a DMV office can do so check the website to make sure that you can get done what you need to get done here. But to register or renew plates its super convenient and they give you the tags right then and there. The maps became very handy when we ventured into the center of Puerto Rico. My teen became unglued that we had no cell phone coverage thus no navigation. "Let me introduce you to a friend of mine, I call him MAP". We had a somewhat painful teaching session (anybody with a teen will understand) but hopefully in the end he got it LOL Parking can be tight and they do not have a ton of spots. read more

I've been a customer of CSAA and their road service for over 20 years. Today after the pandemic my car battery is dead. I have a new charged up battery ready to go and tried to change it, but the previous battery is stuck in the battery box of my car. I worked to pull the battery out, but no go, I just cannot get the leverage I need to pull it out. So, after racking my brain, I decided to try AAA road service. The service I have been paying for for over 20 years. What they told me is that they do not provide road service, or battery service. They will jump start my vehicle. and they will go through all the steps to remove and replace my battery - but ONLY if I buy a AAA battery. I have bought their AAA batteries twice before and they last about half as long as a regular battery. When they first offered this service the batteries were priced high, but reasonable for the service they provided, but today buying a AAA battery is paying 3 times as much for 1/2 the battery. Even though they have to go through the same procedure, in fact even less work, they will not help me to remove my battery. They will send someone out to jump start the battery and test it, but in a crunch they seem to be extorting me and forcing me to buy an inferior battery for a highly inflated price. How is that road service? How is that battery service. How is that customer service? No matter that I explained that all it would take is their tow-truck technician maybe 1 minute at the most, three different representative of AAA, two were supposedly managers, said that helping their customers was not a service they provide - even when what was entailed was something they would have to do anyway in the course of their jobs. They held the hard line against this just repeating and talking over me with a condescending insulting tone of voice. They ways AAA service in both insurance and road service has degraded and become an extortion racket at this point is not something I can recommend, and honestly have to warn customers against. So, when the technician arrives to help me with a jump start and battery service I will see what he does. Most of the actual road service guys are pretty cool and glad to help, but how far down does this corporation extortion racket go. It is also very odd that my alternative if the technician refuses to help me is to call a tow truck and get a free tow to the service station where I will might have to pay for someone to pull the battery out of my car. It just makes no sense to me, and the attitude and decision making of AAA's representatives is so anti-customer it just astounds me. A customer of over 20 years, and I have the special license plate holders to prove it. In the next cycle I will change my insurance company and never look back, and I advise anyone thinking of doing business with AAA at this point to find another company, or not to expect that AAA will actually think creatively and productively to solve your problems, or theirs - but to always push you to spending significantly more money than need to. UNACCEPTABLE, anti-customer, not creative, not sensible, not able to think outside the box or do anything for the customer of their own autonomy. -- Thanks for pretending you care McKenzie, but right now I am royally pissed at your company, and the last thing i want to do is take this offline. Before this my last experience with Menlo Park CSAA was to go in for a little bit complicated registration of an out of state friend's car but we both use. One reason I went with AAA was for the quick registration ... all I got was - can't do. I knew that had to be wrong, so I drove all the way over the Mtn. View where ... sadly I forget her name ... but I got helped and the registration done and a new sticker. It just hit me how much I dread having to go to the Menlo Park AAA and be disappointed in a new way every time ... at least that is what it seems like. I could go back to the long waits and poor service I've gotten at Menlo Park but I guess until now I just accepted it. And, by the way, when the Tow Truck Driver arrived he was gracious and helpful, cheerful and could hardly do enough to help me get my car up and running. I really thank him for being as cool as those drivers usually are. I get the company has to have boundaries or some customers will get unrealistic expectations ... a long time ago I used to do customer support, so I also know what good customer support looks like. My technician experience was top rate, a lousy contrast to the over half-an-hour on the phone with CSAA road service saying no, no, no, no ... and then telling me it would be two hours before anyone could respond. Flat tire on a family vacation... while this Branch is not responsible for roadside service... it's where I have been a member for 12 years. I called the 800 # at 9:33 and was told a tow truck would arrive at 10:22. At 11:33 I called confirming my earlier request and was told dispatch would return my call and give me an estimated time of arrival in 15-20 min. I called at 12:10 and was told the file was closed at 11:33 and didn't know why. Yes you will reimburse me for my cost and time... and yes I did call my USAA Roadside service and got the tire changed and dropped off at a tire shop for repair... THATS SERVICE! read more

Leslie is amazing in customer service. She is super professional and always expedient. She knows what is going on and doesn't take up all your time. The other reps working the counter are painful. We have an embarrassing number of cars and i prefer to renew the registrations in person because of the US mail delivery being so undependable. I'm there several times a month. They see me often yet, there is one person that never recognizes me. She consistently in a loud voice, with several people very near in the waiting area, blasts out my name, address and phone number. AFTER saying that every this is current and correct. She ignored me and still said all my details out loud. I'm a Private person and in this day and age of so much identity theft in careful about my details. They take no steps toward privacy. I will never go to this branch again. they did not follow through to correct my father account after his passing. After me reporting all law documents in order to close my father account. According to AAA can bill or charge after a members. Has passed away. California state law states no foundation or organization can bill a deceased person. It's taking many hours and many calls to find a right person to know state laws. I'm very disappointed with their customer service l. They need more experience employees. I had set up an appointment the previous day, and was seen timely with all the information I had provided already loaded and ready for our review. The whole process was quick and easy, with Hamid proving friendly and kind. Great rates as well. I also used the DMV area to register my out-of-state car into California. Wonderful customer service there as well. The whole location was meticulous clean and set up well for distancing. Also appreciate the greeter who welcomed me immediately and made sure I was taken to the right person for each portion of my transaction. The Mountain View location is the closest to me, but the crew there is like dealing with the Adams Family at times. So I would drive further to the office in Palo Alto at 430 Forest Street which was like an hidden gem until AAA decided to close it and open a new branch location in Menlo Park. Curiosity got the best of me and went the extra mile to check it out. It is a larger facility than the one that was in Palo Alto and the person that waited on me told me they had been open since Thanksgiving week of 2015! There are about 20 employees at this location and it is a full service facility for AAA Insurance, memberships, and travel assistance. I was there to get some free maps and tour books for an upcoming trip. So when you walk in it is bright and airy open space with a kiosk to direct you to where you need to go. The new facility was designed by Gensler, the San Francisco based firm that designed Facebook Headquarters, Apple Stores and Virgin America's San Francisco Terminal. They are open from 8:30 to 5:30 P.M. Monday through Friday and 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturdays. If you are traveling north on El Camino Real you will have to make a U turn to come back as there is no direct way to turn in going North. The exit takes you to Harvard street. I got great service there and am sure you will too! read more
