The Allstar Insurance agency provides insurance from Progressive (and a few other smaller brands)…read more This review is for Allstar, NOT Progressive. This was my first experience buying car insurance on my own (previously I was under my parents' coverage). Allstar's offices are modest, but the staff was nice and seemed like a well-organized group. The whole process was very easy, and Jason, my agent, patiently went over all the different liability options and coverages. He didn't push me to buy anything higher than the state requirements, but own my own I did decide get coverage a bit above the minimum requirements. I don't know what else I could ask for, the people here were friendly, easy to work with, and I got what I think is a very good rate.

I was very disappointed by the service I received from this Allstate Insurance location. My family…read morehas been insured through this location for about 30 years, but the owners changed about a year ago. Recently, when I contacted them for an auto insurance quote I was lied to by an agent, and told that they ONLY offer a package policy and if I wanted an auto policy I would NEED to also purchase either a renters or life insurance policy. When I responded saying I was only interested in car insurance and asked if this claim was actually true, instead of apologizing and sending me the car insurance quote I was requesting, I was told that, without renters insurance, I would be responsible for any damages caused by fire or theft. No, really?? Finally, after explaining I was aware of this and asking a THIRD time for a car insurance quote I was provided with one. In a business where prices are so competitive between different providers, I am surprised this agent hasn't learned that customer service is important and that flat out lying about their policies is not excusable. My family members and I will be finding new insurance elsewhere.

I actually went there about three years ago when I had a frozen right rear brake caliper and needed…read morequick service, so I went there, primarily because of the name, as I was new to Lincoln and didn't have a local mechanic. They carefully explained which parts I needed to replace when they easily could've convinced me to replace the whole brake set on both rear wheels. I was pleased with the speed, efficiency and honesty, so I had them do some additional work on the front end and changing the automatic transmission fluid. I was very pleased with the work and thought the price was reasonable. I'm writing this review now because they also recently helped me over the phone. I was having trouble with the left rear brake caliper and couldn't remember if they had changed the rotors on both sides when they worked on it previously. I called and they had the records to tell me exactly what they had done at the time. I mentioned that I was considering doing the work myself, and they were very understanding, agreeing that the price of labor for such work was considerable no matter where I would have the work done, and that they could certainly understand the rationale for trying to do the work myself. I also recently spoke to a neighbor who has gone to them for years, and had nothing but good things to say. I would highly recommend this business.

DR/TL: Darrin was SUPER nice and helpful and knowledgeable. If we have an auto issue in Lincoln I…read morewould definitely take my business there. We were traveling from our home 45 minutes west to Springfield/Branson Missouri area. We stopped in Lincoln for food and noticed a weird sound from the car. We called my brother-in-law who is knowledgeable about cars, told him what was going on and sent him a video. He said "Oof! Get it to a shop!" He said the harmonic balancer needed replaced. I asked him if he had any recommendations on the area but he didn't. We looked up mechanics on the area online and Urgent Care Auto came up and the name was very fitting. We were very close so we headed over. Darrin saw my video and also said it was the harmonic balancer. He was willing to fix it right then given our situation of needing to be in Missouri by 10am the next morning (it was around lunchtime) BUT he could only get the part the next day do to part availability (because of COVID). He did tell us we were looking at about $350 to fix but it might be a little cheaper at our home mechanic. We couldn't even find a rental and didn't have a way for family to bring us our other car so we had no choice but to go back home. He was a little nervous about that but he said some people drive around with this problem and never have an issue (although they shouldn't). He said keep the RPMs down so we took it easy on the way back. We got home and dropped it off to our local mechanic, who also said the same things, and they had it fixed while we were gone. Total fix cost: $350.
