They told me they could touch it up within 3 days for free and I asked what they could do and was told it's better I just grow it out. Disappointed that they didn't offer me a solution to how they could fix it and yet they are the "expert" and still charged me full price ... now my dog has a botched haircut. Definitely DO NOT go to them if you have a doodle/poodle. This is poor service and quality. Pictures say it all, you be the judge. Out of all the haircuts and groomers my dogs been too this is by far the worst experience. I got charged $55 for nail trim and slight hair cut around the eyes. Unreal. AVOID! Also, one of the groomers grabbed a beautiful cat but the back of the neck and put her on the table and said " I freaking hate this cat" Do NOT RECOMMEND!

She is one of the friendliest, sweetest dogs you could ever meet and has been to other groomers without ever having a bad experience. She usually enjoys going. This time was completely different. When I came back and asked how she was doing, I was told, "I don't know, I didn't touch her." That immediately concerned me. I could not even see my dog at first, and when I asked again, I was told she had been isolated because she was barking. When I finally saw her, she was in a small cage, shaking and clearly terrified. This is not normal behavior for her. As a dog owner, you know your dog, and something was clearly wrong. I calmly expressed that I did not appreciate how she was being handled and that something did not feel right. Later, instead of addressing my concerns, I received a message from the owner accusing me of being rude and telling me not to come back. I was not rude. I was concerned about my dog. I have taken her to multiple groomers, and she has never reacted like this. That alone tells me everything I need to know. I will never bring my dog back here and would not recommend this place to anyone who cares about their pet's well being.

The experience with Shaggy Dogs from start to finish was wonderful. They do book up quickly so call at least a month before you plan to have your dog groomed to get an appointment. But the wait is worth it. The place is clean, Ximena and her team do a great job, and our mini Bernedoodle always comes home looking fresh, smelling great and thoroughly clean. Prices are very reasonable, and our medium-sized dog (34 lbs) takes about 3 hours.

This change is due to the very recent pain they caused my dog and the Owner's unprofessional, ghetto, mean, and uncaring texts. The Owner became unhinged and paranoid. On 9/14/26, I picked up my dog from the Owner who checked me out. The Owner didn't mention anything about my dog or my dog's nails. My dog started licking her front, left paw when we got home. I didn't think anything was wrong. On the morning of 9/17/26, I put a cone around my dog's neck to stop her from licking her paw then examined her paw and saw a blood clot on her front, left dew claw nail. I immediately scheduled a Vet appt for that afternoon. The Vet said the dew claw nail was cracked and infected. They gave her antibiotics and pain medicine and said to leave the cone on and come back for a re-check on 9/30/26. On 9/18/26, I texted Shaggy Dogs' Owner to let her know what occurred. I also texted her pics of my dog's infected dew claw nail. The Owner responded how she forgot to tell you about my dog's dew claw nail being cracked when I dropped her off with her. She also said she was out of town for the wkend and I could swing by on 9/21/26 to look at a video she took of my dog's cracked dew claw nail when I dropped her off. I asked her what time worked for her and she didn't respond. On 9/24/26, my dog's infected dew claw nail worsened. I took her back to the Vet. The Vet said they will need to sedate her so they can cut back her dew claw nail then bandage it. They prescribed a stronger antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicine for pain, and Gabapentin to take the edge off. They said I will need to remove the bandage in 24 hours and leave the cone on her. They made a follow up appt for 9/29/26. On 9/24/26 & 9/25/26, the Shaggy Dogs Owner and I texted back and forth. She told me to read the contract, things happen, she isn't responsible for my dog's injury, and I should have brought my dog to her first instead of making a decision to bring her directly to the Vet first. The Owner also said my dog's nails were long and she will not be paying any Vet bills. I told her that her texts sounded mean and I never asked her to pay anything. She then started texting me in Spanish. I asked her to please email me the video she said she had or I can come by to see it. She said, "I am not showing you the video. You will try to use it against me. Have your lawyer contact my lawyer. This conversation is over." Beware! If you continue bringing your fur baby(ies) to Shaggy Dogs, please: 1) Check your dog's body and nails when dropping them off there. 2) Check your dog's body and nails when picking them up from there. 3) The Owner has another side to her that is unprofessional, ghetto, mean, and uncaring. She can easily become unhinged and paranoid.

But, today was different. Both tubs had visible dog hair all over the mats, inside the tubs, and even in the drains. Which clearly hadn't been properly cleaned. When I politely asked if the tubs were sanitized, I was told they were sprayed down. But when I asked for gloves to clean it myself, the staff member came over with a dismissive attitude. removed the drain piece, set it aside, and walked away without actually cleaning it. Cleanliness should be a basic expectation, right? Especially, at a self-wash facility. I was disappointed not just by the filth, but also by the way I was treated for asking. I ended up leaving without washing my dog, after driving all the way from Escondido and coordinating with my husband to meet me there. It was a waste of time and a really disappointing experience.
