DO NOT USE BLACK BART CHARTERS. IT IS A SCAM!!
OK here's what happened. We are on a cruise in Alaska. The ship docks at Sitka Island and this horrible woman tries selling us a 3 hour "Wildlife Adventure" tour. The whole thing seems a bit shady but my wife wants to go. So I ask some questions.
Here is what the lady tells me (and two other couples standing nearby):
This is a 3 hour cruise
You are GUARANTEED to see
Bears
Eagles
Seals
Birds
(and a couple of other animals of which variety I do not remember).
Whales are not guranteed but are seen 90% of the time.
I say "are you sure we will see that stuff because I dont want o pay $260 just to see some seals" (we had seen plenty already on our trip).
She says everything but whales are guranteed.
We sign up..
So...the cruise was only 2 hours instead of 3. We saw a few seals and nothing else. I mean nothing else. The "captain", when asked, avoided the question about how often his customers see whales on his charters.
When we got off the boat everyone was talking about how we had just been ripped off.
Did we get our money back? NO. The "captain" claimed that there was no guarantee. He claimed that the cruise was advertised as a 2 hour cruise.
The whole thing was a TOTAL RIP-OFF.
Stay away from this charter service. Make sure you get any gurantees in writing. I will from now on. read more
