AAA has always been great. Johnny on the spot until I moved to Alabama now I can't get service, I can't get anyone to call me. The website wants me to pay another 184 dollars to be an Alabama member. I was just charged 287 on my card to be a Tennessee member where I came from and I can't get them in the phone either. My daughter has been stuck in the rain for an hour after midnight in Alabama, and can't get anybody to respond for over an hour. What the hell am I paying for? I broke down in Elpaso tx. I called aaa they said they didn't have a carrier close by. They found an independent tow company. They called me back and said the tow would be $900 for a 14 mile tow. I had the best RV package that Aaa offered. With the so called long tow. They said they would only cover $500. They said they could not negotiate with the tow company. The tow company lost my Ujoint and that cost me another $250. I canceled my subscription because I can't see paying $188 dollars for $ 500 coverage. Aaa did not reimburse me for my cancellation. Been a member for over 20 years, and zero issues until the last few years. I actually paid for a tow truck this am because the hassle with aaa was off the charts. Needed to tow my car 6 blocks and after an hour of back and forth on the phone, they said they could have a truck there on a little over two hours. Three hours? No thanks- the last several times there have been recorded issues with no follow up from AAA. Reconsidering my membership. read more

I called for towing as the water pump on my truck had gone out. I was told that I had used my 4 service calls for the year and that it would cost $125.00 to have my vehicle towed. I have the AAA Plus plan, and I told the lady that I didn't know my policy only included 4 service calls a year. She then offered to have my truck towed for $100. I refused and said that I can't believe my wife and I could only have 4 service calls a year. Then the lady said if my wife called in the service, and stayed by my truck, they could have the truck towed at no charge. It all sounded like a "bait & switch" tactic. read more

I had a car issue at 1030 on a Friday night. 1. Called AAA for a tow at 10:44, toll scheduled for 12. The woman who took my call struggled to read a map and locate me. Seemed to not understand how coordinates work, which seems like the only responsibility of someone who locates people for AAA. She had some weird incorrect phone number for me, which I carefully corrected. 2. I took a nap and waited to call back until 1 because I thought maybe it was a timezone issue (dumb of me). Received no texts or updates. 3. Called at 1:15, on hold for 15 minutes, transferred a bunch of times. Apparently the Tow truck driver showed up to the place next door, didn't see me, and called "me" - completely the wrong number. The woman in the phone was rude to me when I asserted I had not received any calls. A second tow was scheduled for 2:30am. 4. Not happened. I called AAA at 2:41, passed around to like five people, informed me my tow is scheduled for 9am. Why would they reschedule a tow for 9am without communicating this to the customer after promising one at 230am? So I'm a young woman by myself stranded all night at a gas station. Finally she said they will call me back if they can find another tow for the nighttime. I heard nothing. 5. I started calling AAA at 8:45am. They promised a tow would call me around 930. The tow company did call me and promised an ETA of 9:45. When they didn't show up I called AAA again. They said I can expect an ETA of 11. So, I've now been here for over 12 hours absolutely getting the runaround in every possible way. If they weren't going to tow me I could've just hired a different company. Disgusting behavior and I'm surprised this company is still in business. read more

If anyone is thinking about getting AAA RV service DON'T DO IT. I have AAA Premier RV membership and it's never provided the service I requested. In June 2023 my RV had a shredded tire at 0215 in the morning in Ft. Myers Fl.. I called AAA for a tire change and was told a person was dispatched and should arrive in 17 to 30 minuets. At 0630 4 hours later a small tow truck drove up and informed me that he doesn't change RV tires. I called AAA back and explained that they sent out a tech who could not change RV tires. AAA said they would send out another crew. Just to save time let me say that I had to pay a tire store to change my tire and sell me a replacement for the blown one. Upon arriving in Key West I needed another tire changed. Same exact problem. AAA dispatched a tow truck but he could not change an RV tire. Again I contacted a tire store the tech told me to call and they came out and changed all my tires and sold, mounted and installed new tires on my RV from their service vech. I complained to AAA but no one ever contacted me about the lack of service. Now on 13 Oct 2023 at 1130pm I had yet another shredded tire (a new tire from the June install). I contacted AAA spoke to Trina who was very helpful and ensured that the ticket said RV flat tire change in 3 places and dispatched a company that services RV's. The guy from Casper tow service showed up about 45 min. later and he told me he doesn't change RV tires. Appearently NO ONE AAA contracts will change a flat tire on a RV. None of them carry a jack that will lift a RV. This tech told me the same thing every other tech told me." I aint surprised AAA does this all the time". Every single tech who was dispatched said the same thing. After Casper left I called AAA back very pissed off to complain that they have screwed me again. This time another AAA rep told me that the problem was that RV was not on the dispatch ticket. This really pissed me off because she was telling me a LIE right over the fone. I knew for sure RV was on the ticket because. 1. You have to answer 50 questions about the RV including make/model/length/weight/color. 2. Trina read the ticket to me and I heard RV 3. The Casper tech also verified the ticket said RV. AAA lied right to my face and wanted me to wait for another tech. Well I'm not a fool. I told her to forget it. By now I'm at a TA truck stop and I paid the 58 dollars to have them change the flat with my spare. In summary. I called AAA 3 times for 3 flat tires on my RV and never received a proper RV crew who could do a simple tire change. I'm paying for services not rendered by AAA and no one at AAA seems to care. So what they loose a couple pissed off customers every day, because they gain a 100 new or renewed customers each day to offset the lost customers. LISTEN TO ME PLEASE. DO NOT GET A RV MEMBERSHIP. THEY WILL LEAVE YOU STRANDED. I just canceled my membership. read more

Horrible. Called 1st time to request a battery jump. Called back 5 mins later to cancel jump and request tow. Called back in 20 mins later after speaking to tow provider that they had no record of tow request from AAA. Asked AAA to get tow issued. Waited another 20 mins for an update - none recd. Called AAA a 3rd time and got bounced around 3x as I was trying to get an answer on whether two request issued. Was told no tow issued and I tried to get someone to fix things. Got transferred around. Hung up and called tow provider directly and paid out of pocket. Called AAA back and cancelled service - Gabriel said I would get a $144 refund right away [will see if that happens]. Nobody called me back from AAA to try to make it right as have been a customer I think for 30 years!?!?! read more

Called to get my car towed, they said it would be an hour, then about the time the tow truck was supposed to be here, i got a call from the tow truck driver that he had two cars ahead of me and it would be at least 2 hours before he got to me.... i call AAA back and they say they will try to get someone out to me and they said they would let me know, we it had been an hour now and no word from anybody. I have paid for membership nearly 10 years and never used. My car had to be towed for repairs. It was not an easy experience working with AAA staff. I waited two hours on the tow company dispatched by AAA. Then when AAA could not determine how much longer I would wait, I called a different tow company that arrived within 10 minutes. I was told I would be "considered" for reimbursement on the tow as a plus level member. My auto insurance has towing - I will go that route next time. read more

We have been AAA members for years. We were heading to Florida on vacation with 6 passengers. Van broke down near Birmingham on the interstate. Contacted AAA and was told a tow truck would be to us in less than 45 minutes and that we were a priority. 30 minutes after our initial call AAA calls me and asks "Have you found a cab or uber yet?" I was confused and informed them that we were on the interstate, broken down, in a city I knew nothing about, and I had not been told to contact a cab or uber!!!! I was then informed that we had over the limit of passengers for a tow truck to transport and I would have to find a cab or uber to pick us up on the interstate!!! We started making calls and found a cab co. to pick up four of our passengers. 30 minutes after that I receive another phone call from AAA telling me that a tow truck had been located that would transport all passengers!! Four of them had already been picked up by the cab I had been told to call. AAA was confused in this situation and I felt we were not an urgent matter to them (1 1/2 hours sitting on an interstate ). We did not receive information from AAA timely and when we did the information was wrong - call a cab or uber, you are a priority, 45 minutes or less.....Very disappointed and I am going to cancel our AAA account and go with our car insurance carrier for roadside assistance. And, during one of the phone calls I was told that the police were on their way to assist - surprise, surprise the police never showed up!! read more
