Fantastic gym to drop in when you're in the area. I've dropped in here around 4-5 times now over…read morethe past year when I'm in town for work. Coaches are friendly and approachable. Good classes. Solid no frills programming. Ridiculously nice space - it is HUGE. Great gym!

Since this place is the only reason I can claim to have some semblance of sanity (okay, okay, take…read moreit easy)... it's time to not only bump up the star rating but also mention some changes/updates. I moved out A2-way during the earlier days of COVID last year and needed a place to exercise. Remembered enjoying Wolverine Strength and Conditioning several years back and decided to give it a go. At that time, they were doing outdoor workouts, which was a big bonus! Plus, there were a lot of really great people both training and being trained. It was the most social thing that I was doing at the time - so not only did I improve my health by exercising regularly again, I also improved my health by having a social connectedness that was lacking in so many other areas of life. After the summer months, we headed inside. They made nice little "parking spots" with all the equipment separated out so that you had your own space. Of course they required face masks, per state regulations. But they also took extra precautions by giving us cleaning towels and products to wipe down the equipment after every use. They also had us go to the common areas in groups to keep contact down. Now that the weather is turning nice, they have told us that we will be going outside periodically again. It's SOOOO great of them to do that since it really is hard on the equipment, plus it's labor intensive. I honestly can't say enough good things about this gym. If you're looking to get your health in check (especially since we know that health is SO IMPORTANT when it comes to infectious disease) - definitely check this place out. You can drop in for free (one session), and then the $160/month is for month-to-month without an annual commitment. It's like getting a personal trainer - but for a LOT less! I cannot believe the changes I've seen in my body in less than a year... and how much more agile and good I feel. For the record, I'm 47 years old and feel better than I think I've ever felt. I may have gray hair... but I wouldn't mess with me if I were you! ;) Haha.

I had a lot of health issues but I never dreamed of joining a gym in California, see I'm overweight and had never seen the inside of a gym. I joined this gym Applied Fitness Solutions about three months ago and it was the best investment in my life, no regrets! In California the gym's are intimidating because everyone that goes to a gym, in my opinion have perfect bodies and everyone is big on their looks. That being said, AFS is so different and so much better! Their trainers are highly qualified, supportive, knowledgeable in every aspect of the body. They are there to help you reconnect your mind to your body. The gym members are regular people that have an interest and investing in a better lifetime with the body they have. You make an appointment and you follow the process so they get to know what your goals are for you. I truly know if you take this step to invest in yourself you will not regret it and will see results and like everything in life it's hard in the beginning but eventually it becomes a way of life with great health mentally and physically. I highly recommend Applied Fitness Solutions!!!

The trainers and clients are all friendly and supportive. Clients run the full range of shapes, sizes, age (high school to 70s+ years of age), ethnicities... i attribute my lack of medical problems (I'm in my 50s and take no meds), being mindful of good form/avoiding injury, and reaching my goal of being no more than 10 lbs above my high school weight to this gym! They also have great HIIT workouts for boosting your metabolism...but it's too far for me to go more than 2 days a week, so I just stick to the strength (weight training) workouts.

He is extremely knowledgeable and well-credentialed in many facets of the industry, from strength and mobility training to injury prevention and rehabilitation to nutrition coaching, and more. Perhaps more importantly, he is constantly learning and growing to stay up-to-date on the latest scientific information, data, and best practices. As a trainer, Andrew listens to his clients' needs and tailors programs to fit what they want to accomplish and how to realistically achieve their goals within the context of the busy lives, schedules, and calendars that we all have. He is open to feedback, and actively seeks out information from his clients about their athletic/exercise background, injury history, nutritional and sleep habits, and other lifestyle factors that allow for a truly personalized program for each individual to reach their exercise goals and remain healthy, active individuals long past their athletic prime. As a person, Andrew is fun, easy going, and lighthearted. He creates an environment in his gym that is simultaneously motivating and appropriately intense, while never making you feel intimidated or judged -- making it seem as though anyone from a professional athlete to a first-time exerciser would feel equally comfortable in the space and in his presence. Whether you are seeking competitive or sport-specific training, injury rehabilitation, weight loss or strength gains, or simply want to stay healthy and mobile as you age, I could not recommend Andrew highly enough. We are very lucky to have someone in our community with the knowledge and skills that Andrew posses. Thanks for all that you do!

Without reservation, I recommend Paul to anyone considering learning how to golf. Since my…read morechildhood, I have had many different personal trainers and coaches for various types of exercises- from Pilates to water skiing; still, Paul is the best coach ever for the following reasons. His teaching style/philosophy, professionalism, experience, strong yet encouraging communication style, and organizational style are unequaled in this business. 1. At the beginning of the sessions, he consulted with clients to set a clear and achievable goal and reached the goal by the end of the promised sessions. It was my first time learning how to golf (I started from zero background knowledge/experience, didn't even had a club), and my goal was to get to the point where I can enjoy golfing without sabotaging myself from establishing any bad habits or postures. What I like the most about Paul's teaching style was that he gave me immediate feedback when I was learning 1) grip, 2) stance, 3) backswing, 4) full swing, 5) follow-through, and 6) body turn. This immediate feedback style tremendously helped me not develop any bad habits from the beginning, which I appreciate SO MUCH. Additionally, whenever I had questions, I was able to get my questions answered promptly. Paul shared online and offline (book/media) resources to get his client informed with the correct information. 2. Paul is professional and experienced with appropriate credentials. I firmly believe his professional demeanor and attributes came from his long years of experience as a trainer. Having an adequate amount of knowledge is important as a trainer. The thing is-just because trainers have the knowledge, this doesn't mean they have real-world experience. But, Paul does and gets results for a client. Period. 3. Also, another aspect I really liked about my learning experience with Paul was his clear yet encouraging both verbal and non-verbal communication style. This style also aligns with motivating his clients intrinsically. His empathetic listening as well as the way he gets the information across to clients are top-notch. As a person who speaks English as a third language, I felt lucky to have Paul as my coach because he was patient enough to explain until I understood his cueing. Also, this is more about organizational style: whenever we needed to set up a schedule for following sessions, he shared a google invitation with a client. In this way, both clients and the trainer were able to keep the schedule organized on both ends. Taken together, I am super glad that I was able to learn how to golf from Paul and wish all the best for him and his business. Thank you, Paul!

We'd been on a downward spiral for several years with our eating habits and lack of exercise, but we had no idea things had gotten that bad. The doctor's diagnosis was actually a blessing in disguise, because it led us to finding Paul. We knew that we needed to see someone who was a nutritionist as well as a trainer, mainly to help my husband with his blood sugar levels. He was great at helping us understand how what we ate would impact us throughout our day, tailoring his advice for a diabetic and a non-diabetic. I'm a bit of a self-professed foodie, so this was the hardest part for me personally. Paul made it easier by forcing me to be accountable for what I was eating and to really examine my nutrition as a whole. Then there is the training...I was a little curious as to how he'd handle me and my husband training at the same time. We're pretty much opposites when it comes to working out. I enjoy it and while I may balk at certain things, I'll generally do them. My husband on the other hand is pretty new to the gym and doesn't really enjoy working out. Paul is an amazing trainer! He's able to motivate both of us equally, pushing us to do more reps/lift more weight than we thought we could. He's great at challenging each of us to get the most out of our sessions. And I can say....it's definitely paid off! We've both gained more muscle and lost more fat than I think we would have been able to on our own (I dropped from 47% down to 33% body fat in 6 months). The overall improvement to our health has been dramatic as well; we both have more energy and make fewer trips to the doctor's office. While we still have a ways to go to hit our goal weights, after seeing what can be accomplished in just 6 months with Paul, we're confident that it will happen!!
