This is my first Yelp review in ages (been off it once they censored one of my reviews), but since…read moreI can't find these guys on Google Reviews (my preferred, free-speech review platform), I wanted to leave my review here. I have used these guys three times, and the service and quality is excellent, at prices $50-100 below what I paid in other cities for the exact same thing (always for the main, front windshield). The installer (whose name I forget) literally claimed to have installed 35,000 car windshields, and I believe it: 8/day x 6-7 days/week (he rarely, if ever, takes a day off) x 54 weeks/year x 15-20 years at Blackie's....actually, I think his 35,000 estimate may be a low-ball!
And one thing I really liked about them involves a bit of a story. A few years back, we were in a fender bender, which resulted in our Scion having a badly cracked front windshield, so they put in a new one. A few days later, there was a tiny leak on the passenger side between the passenger-side window and the front windshield. My girlfriend was FURIOUS thinking that their shoddy work was to blame for the leak. The installer came over in a heartbeat, was very apologetic, did some inspecting, and.....turns out the leak was from the car frame having been bent near the passenger-side window due to the same accident that resulted in the cracked windshield. In other words, not their fault at all or even related to the front windshield's installation. He politely explained this, never went into defense mode despite us being rude, and didn't even charge us for what was essentially our mishap (and therefore wasting of their time). People could learn a thing or two from that kind of diplomatic professional, and I felt incredibly embarrassed for us having basically attacked them for something that was our fault. Hilariously, three years later, the installer came back to fix something else, and we had a laugh about the whole thing.
