We hired someone to come in and pack our loved one's belongings, only to find out after we opened the boxes months later that they literally put one or two small items and a TON of craft paper wraps in the boxes... because they charge by the box, we OVERPAID terribly! I would NOT RECOMMEND this business to anyone!

At the time of my move I was totally stressed out. My husband was flat on his back and was not able to do anything. I had had College Hunks for a pre-pack that was about Liz the owner sold me on using her moving service. She and her husband assured me that the electronics -TV computer and related electronics would be all set up. I asked if the connections could be color coded. She said definitely. 3 months later they aren't ! I paid for an unpack. Things I needed unpacked I'm getting unpacked. Workers literally dumped every tool into one kitchen drawer. Boxes were unpacked that had DO NOT UNPACK! Books were suppose to be put downstairs Our pottery collection was suppose to be put on shelves in the garage. The pottery was unpacked and put on bookshelves. Books are in the garage. Today I finally unpacked a microwave bowl that I've needed. This is a third of what went south. I found the Christmas lights but ornaments. It's very frustrating. A 4th day was added with two unpackers and 2 movers This was a worthless day.

All of the electric service was top notch, the electrician I used for my kitchen remodel told me the work was fine. However, the new mast they installed was horribly installed. They installed the flashing ON TOP of the shingles above the mast, put two nails through it and the all the shingles, gobbed some tar on it and left it at that. I called Amp Electric and gave my complaint to whoever answered the phone. Was called back later saying that is they way they do it and it is fine. It took six shingles because we had to replace the ones that had nail holes through the surface. My cost was only $160 to repair because I already had the shingles. So a mixed review. Don't have them do anything except electric work.

After inspecting and showing me the two burners, the tech said they there was corrosion on them that should be removed and would cost over $200. I consented, assuming this would take a considerable amount of time. Five minutes after taking them to his truck for cleaning he was back and showed me the burners with only some of the corrosion removed. He said "that's the best I could do. THAT WILL BE $250". So for 5 minutes of work he was charging me $50@ minute. I demurred and ended up settling for $$150 for the corrosion removal, still way to much! His response " you're paying me for my expertise, not my time". I found my experience with them to be very disappointing! Again: BEWARE! The business responded below and falsely claimed I "dumped a can of diet coke in their technician's too bag". I DID NO SUCH THING AND WOULD NEVER DO SUCH A THING! I agree with the company's claim that I consented to the charge in advance but assumed the time required for the work would justify the charge. The cleaning of the burners took no more than 5 minutes! That meant they were still charging me $50 @ minute. Although I negotiated to a reduced charge of $150 for cleaning the burners, that was still $30@ minute! I stand by my original claim that this company engaged in a bit of "bait & switch"! And the claim that I took revenge on the technician by dumping a can of diet coke in his tool bag is outrageous and false and appears to be an attempt to discredit my negative review of this business!

He did a water test and then wrote up several quotes that started at over $6K and exceeded $10K on the high side. I explained (and he saw) that the house was already plumbed with a working bypass and drain line. I also told him that their quotes were much higher than all the research I had done on replacement units. He told me they were " a bit more because they are a 'larger company' ". He also charged me the standard $100 service fee - So I essentially paid them for a "sales" call! I ordered a 48K grain system with 10% cross-linked resin and a Fleck 5600 control head for $750.00 from an online plumbing supply store with great reviews. I then ordered about $50 worth of water lines and a few PVC fittings. In 30 minutes it was hooked up and working perfectly. I am all for buying local. But I cannot comprehend what Lasco could put in their resin or what type of controller upgrade they can offer that justifies a price $5,000 more than I was able to obtain. There would be, at most, one or two hours of time needed for installation. I would encourage anyone needing a water softener to check around before agreeing to pay such an outrageous amount from Lasco. It upsets me when I imagine my parents or other vulnerable people believing these guys and agreeing to these crazy prices.
