Pool cues weigh between 18-21 oz. Better cues can be adjusted with weights. Looking for more control with my Cuetec cue, I wanted to get a couple of weights. It seemed a hassle to order $10 parts online. A-1 has all of supplies. Sho'nuf, they have the weights in 1oz increments. $4.95 read more

My table is almost 20 years old, a nine ft. Brunswick. Mid-range quality table, nothing great but still nice enough. It was out of level and the rails were pretty dead. Carl and Alonzo came out, arrived right on time, re-leveled the table, and tightened the rails. It's playing the best it's played in years. Level is spot on. The rails are much better, but still need replacing. I will do that in the coming months, and when I do A1 and Carl will definitely do the work. Highly recommend them. If you're considering having something done to your table better get to it. Carl told me he's 73 and doesn't know how much longer he'll work before retirement. Warm and knowledgeable service with fair prices! We got all the accessories we needed for our new pool table. We're beginners, but we didn't feel out of place and were made to feel welcome. We got one and two piece pool cues, triangle, chalk, a cue case, chalk holder, practice cue ball and table cover. I was so excited to see they had the pool cue I had been eyeing online so I was able to try it out. She even threw in a pamphlet about how to play pool right, but I think I will still make up my own rules when I sink the cue ball or eight ball. :-) read more

My mom and dad, both in their 80s, recently started playing pool on a regular basis at Rossmoor. I've been playing my whole life, and I couldn't be more delighted and impressed with their previously unknown skills on the table. For Christmas 2017, I wanted to get them his and hers cues. The house cues at Rossmoor are in good shape, but there's nothing like playing with your own cue to help with consistency. I found A1 on Yelp (thanks!) and was very pleased with their service. Mom and Dad are enjoying their new Nick Varner cues, and as it turns out, A1 takes care of the tables at Rossmoor and knows the president of their billiard club well. read more

A1 broke down and moved a table that a jabroni previously set up with a bunch of garbage filler and sealant. They fixed up the issues, delivered on time, and set the table up perfectly. I have a pretty nice electronic level, and they balanced it out to 0.0 degrees on an upper level wood floor with deflection issues. Every shot I take is line perfect. The table is so level I've found problems with my cheap cue on shots. Only the cue or spin makes the balls deviate direction. Secondary contact never deviates. The floor is flat. You can save maybe $100 using some bozo with a pickup truck. These folks have been doing it longer than I've been working in my own career. Total pros. read more

David with A1 installed our pool table on time and very professionally. Our previous install was not done properly which was evident by all the shims that were used. David, his wife, son and 2 other crew members worked almost 3 hours. They removed the old felt, scraped plaster and old wax from the slate and put everything back together like new. I can't say enough good things about our experience with Stephanie and Carl at A-1 Pool Tables. My daughters and I made the trip over in search of an air hockey table and Stephanie couldn't have been more helpful. She was delightful as she showed us what was available to order and even took us to their storage facility to show us a used pool table that included a slide hockey insert. We ended up ordering an air hockey table and purchased the pool table, which included accessories and new felt in our choice of color for no additional charge. We had such a great experience here I feel compelled to write a review. We were a bit of a special case because they had a used table that worked with our limited budget. That didn't stop their kindness. They gave us new balls and new cloth with no additional cost. After installing our table, they exchanged some of our used cues to fit better in our garage. They also threw in chalk and cue clips at no additional fee. These are the nicest people and we couldn't be happier with our table. It's used and plays like new. Stephanie and Carl are awesome. They have run this business for decades and this has given them unsurpassable knowledge on their products. Stephanie went out of her way to make sure we got the pool table that was right for us and the color of felt that was exactly what we were looking for... she is such a sweetheart. I mentioned it to Carl when he came to install the table. He told me he got lucky and she gets more compliments than him. But I don't believe that. He was also amazing. He made sure that we got what we wanted and he gave us a very good deal. When he did the install he was meticulous to ensure the table was perfectly level and aligned. He takes pride in using his tools which included and engineers level and assured me that things were perfect. His level would detect a difference as thin as a sheet of paper. We bought a Cue for my son months ago. It developed a slight change in weight and even though was perfectly straight, it rolled to one spot when set on a table. We showed it to A-1, and she said, "if it bothers you, we will replace it", and she went over and grabbed a NEW Cue off the rack, let my son inspect it and then let us trade ours for the new one, no questions, paperwork, or money needed. I went in to ask what they thought, I had no intention of asking them to replace it. What a fine way to run a business. Give them a try for your pool needs. I purchased a 8 foot oversized Olhausen on Craigslist and had A1 do my transport and installation. Very good experience overall. They really went out of their way to educate me as I tried to decide which table to purchase even though I wasn't purchasing it through them. The moving of the pool table was quick and seamless. The installation was very efficient and with a high level of quality. The installers were very kind and courteous.
