Snowee-Belle has been such a Blessing to our family! Shawna, Toni and Rosie were so helpful and their love for their animals is so apparent. The process was thorough yet quick and efficient! I'm am so grateful I found out about A Wish for Animals and would recommend them to anyone that truly understands how to care for the precious gift of a pet! Let all that you do be done in Love.- 1 Corinthians 16:14 God Bless A Wish for Animals.

Their 501(c)(3) status has been REVOKED by the IRS and yet, they are falsely advertising online that they are a no-profit!!

I am pleading with anyone reading this that is considering adopting an animal from this "non-profit" to run far away! They are falsely purporting to be a 501(c)(3) non-profit, when in reality, they are nothing more than a for profit operation selling puppies and deceiving innocent people. Their 501(c)(3) status has been REVOKED by both the IRS and the California Attorney General. See attached screenshots from the IRS and AG's websites. Here's my story: I just adopted and paid $500 for a puppy from AWFA on 02/19/23 and to this day, they refuse to provide me with any adoption paperwork and they also refuse to substantiate my puppies vaccination records. The vax records look like they were made in Microsoft Word. Total joke! The records state that my puppy was adopted and partially vaccinated at Riverside County Animal Shelter. I called the shelter and they told me that they can't provide me with any information without an animal record number. I asked AWFA for his animal record number, and they refused to provide it to me. I just left their shady "adoption event" (3/04/23) at a private residence in Mission Viejo where I was told that I would receive a folder with adoption paperwork for my puppy. They provided me with NOTHING and wanted to self vaccinate my puppy which I would NEVER allow. I am currently paying OUT OF POCKET for my puppy to be seen and vaccinated at an actual vet that I know and trust. I have filed complaints against these monsters with the IRS and the California Attorney General's Office. I also have text messages to substantiate everything that I am writing in this review. It's truly sickening and horrifying that these people are taking advantage of innocent animals and people in such a way and they must be stopped!

Everyone at this rescue is incredible!! I am so grateful for the education they provide to adopters regarding holistic nutrition, medicine, steps to take with your new pup, and vaccines necessary. Thank you for matching me with my beautiful boy, now named Písco. He was just 8 weeks old when I adopted him at his foster home via A Wish for Animals, and I have stayed in touch with his siblings who were adopted locally as well. They were very thorough with the adoption and interview process which I loved- that's what all shelters & rescues need to do!! I was so relieved to find they had been giving him home cooked meals from DAY 1, which made the transition to live with me much smoother as I already cook for my pups. He is the most amazing Blue Heeler mix (we got a DNA test done). Excited to grow with him & continue training and traveling with him.

They provide ideas and how to care for your puppy

So happy with my experience!!! My family adopted a young puppy that was great for 3 days. Then took a turn and we thought it was going to be it. We went to the emergency room for animals and they told us parvo. Well this shelter took it upon themselves to help guide us through. Toni was available at all hours and she provide us Laura who came by on Christmas Eve and Christmas to provide care. This was at home care and not something they have to do. Not only is Chip back and acting a like a puppy but a wish for animals helped nurse him to perfect health. Why for you: They provide ideas and how to care for your puppy They provide updates and instant feedback They want it to work ( you get interviewed and need to send videos of where the dog will be) You spend 1 hour with the puppy before you get to adopt the puppy to make sure there is a connection They take care of booster shots and other processes for the first 6 months I highly recommend as this experience was a first!

Oh my gosh... just adopted my forever pup via "a wish for animals" a non- profit Animal Rescue! 100% recommendation!

I have worked with Toni for almost a year now. I started by fostering Jenny. I have had NO problems working with Toni and the rescue. She is always available for questions, advice and assistance. I added another foster, Maddie which now has turned into a hospice case. The rescue continues to support Maddie during this time. I have adopted through this rescue and it is the best! I would highly recommend adopting from this Rescue OR even becoming a foster.

We adopted a dog from Wish for animals 7 years ago .. he is the best dog ever!! This is a great organization and thank you for saving his life!!

I adopted a puppy and I was so impressed with the help I received from Toni, Laura, and the volunteers. The application process was thorough and fast, within a couple days they reviewed my application and called for a phone interview. They requested a video tour of my home to make sure a new puppy would thrive. I appreciate the time they took to make sure I was a good candidate. They went over so many details that really helped me welcome my new little guy. I'm so happy to have Ash, thank you!!

Little Squirt now known as Hoshi (Star in Japanese).Named for his white star on his chest & he is definitely a star in our life!

I ventured over to PetSmart during an adoption event and immediately fell in love with a black and white 5 month old. Took my hubby and son back a few days later and there was my little kitty but this time she had a roommate! He was just as cute and sweet and we all fell in love. What sealed the deal was the foster mom answering all our questions and taking all the time we needed with her. We adopted them both and couldn't be happier. They are healthy, well socialized and fun! Thank you Ark for our new family members. We love them so much!

The handling of the adoption application process is absolutely appalling. Don't put your kids or…read morefamily through this, it's heartbreaking. Volunteers aren't upfront & instead pass the buck to "the board" (Barbie & Robin) & keep you in the dark about the decision making until you find out the cat you're applying for has already been adopted (!) even though you were told in person that you'd "receive a decision soon" & that you were "first in line" once the decision is made. Then they backtrack & say they don't "hold" cats. I spent over an hour at PetSmart meeting 2 white kittens on Friday evening & talking with their foster Louise who was prepping me to take them home. We discussed how & when to introduce them to my 2 older cats, what kitten food they eat & more. Once I was ready to pay the fee she asked me to fill in the application. It felt like a formality since we'd already talked about integrating them & my husband & I got to hold them. Other people picked up their cats, took photos, & took them home. After filling out the form, volunteer Mary, who I'd never spoken to before, asked about whether I had a balcony. I gave a detailed description of our small covered master bedroom balcony, which we affectionately call a "catio," since we rarely use it & on the rare times I go out there sometimes my 7-year-old well-trained intelligent Siamese mix comes out for 5-10 mins under my close supervision. Mary asked if the balcony had a cat door & I said it does, and it has a cover to keep it closed & a wooden rod along the bottom of the sliding door so my cats can't get out. I also explained that I would remove the pet door completely since I was adopting the kittens & that we keep the bedroom door closed, so the balcony is behind 2 CLOSED DOORS. Mary's inquisition focused ONLY on the balcony. She never asked about my experience as a cat owner & foster, the cat-friendly setup at my home with multiple scratching posts, litter boxes, drinking fountains, cat beds, sunny window spots, or that I feed my cats premium food including human grade. As an experienced cat owner & foster, I completely agree that letting kittens anywhere near outdoor access would be INSANE, especially white cats, & yet that's how I was treated - like I was reckless, irrational, & untrustworthy. As Louise got ready to take the fee she checked with Mary & Mary whispered something, then I was told my application needed to be reviewed by "the board," spoiler alert - thats code for declined. I later got an email from an anonymous person saying my application was declined specifically due to concerns about the balcony. I wrote back assuring the balcony would be off-limits, describing my donor & fundraising work for cat orgs, experience fostering & my safe, cat-friendly home. I fully understand the need to vet adopters, but Mary's alarmist approach left no room for context or seeing me as a reasonable, responsible person. EVERY new pet adoption requires adjustments & I was fully willing to make them. 10am the next morning as adoption opened, I said hi to Mary & the first thing she said was "I don't think the 2 white kittens are coming in today, but there are plenty of other cats that need adopting". So I wasn't allowed to adopt the only 2 cats I actually wanted? How mean. I knew Mary was lying because foster Louise told me she'd be in at 11am. When I saw her she explained that past adopters had left cats unattended on balconies & they'd fallen or disappeared. I assured her this would never happen since the balcony is behind 2 closed doors. Board member Barbie pulled me aside. Even after I repeated that the balcony would be OFF LIMITS she insisted on seeing a photo of it, which I supplied. She said it wouldn't be fair to my existing cat not to go out there anymore. I explained he rarely goes out & has lots of other window seats inside. I showed her photos of my rescued cats from Downey shelter full of dust, disease & fleas as kittens + recent photos of them thriving & happy. She said "your caretaking ability isn't in question, it's about the balcony." She told me she'd "let me know the decision soon." Earlier Louise had said I'm "first in line" after a decision is made. I left in tears, waiting 2 hours with no response. When I returned to check, Mary saw me & whispered to another volunteer. Seconds later, a a volunteer told me with a goofy smile that "one kitten had already been adopted and is being picked up tomorrow". She said they "didn't know" I had an application pending on that kitten, but later admitted Barbie & Louise allowed it to be adopted. My family is devastated by this carelessness & we have missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to adopt 2 white kitten siblings who were look-a-likes to our adult white siblings. This organization jumps to conclusions, fails at basic communication, passes the buck & takes satisfaction in turning you down & redirecting you. "We're just volunteers" is repeated often, as if absolving them of responsibility.

We thought we found the one at Doggie Bonez. We initially reached out via the website asking for more info on a specific dog. After a day with no response, we filled out an application because we were serious about adopting and called to follow up. Our calls went unanswered and unreturned. A few days later we reached out via social media and finally got a response from a volunteer. However, everything is managed and run through Jackie so the volunteer offered to reach out to her. Several days later Jackie finally texted. We were so excited! She confirmed the dog was still available, offered to get us updated photos and coordinate with the foster family about setting up a time to meet the dog. Days went by with no reply from her. We reached out again with no reply. At this point we decided to cut our losses and move on. We had been trying to get even the most minimal information for nearly two weeks and ultimately we were ghosted. I understand being the point person for an entire rescue organization can be daunting but a simple acknowledgement that she was working on it or it was on her to do list would have gone a long way. Opening our hearts and home to another dog was a big deal for us and part of our journey to heal after loosing our best boy. Our experience with Jackie and Doggie Bonez was an emotional rollercoaster of being hopeful and excited then being let down with silence. The whole experience was traumatic for me and I would caution anyone choosing to engage with this particular rescue. These dogs deserve loving homes so I wouldn't discourage anyone from adopting but it would be remiss if I didn't share our experience. I hope we were the exception and not the rule to how this rescue is run.
