The session involved a lot of very light pressure and holding pressure points, which was not the type of massage I was looking for. I was hoping for a traditional relaxation massage and felt disappointed that this was not clarified before the appointment. I also let the therapist know that I do not like having my calves or stomach massaged. When I expressed this, she pushed back and explained that she needed to work on those areas and that I could decide after the session if I liked it. Even after I repeated that I did not like those areas being worked on, she continued to return to them. She also offered to incorporate CBD lotion, which she said might help. I agreed, but later found out it added an additional $25 charge that was never mentioned beforehand. After the session she also suggested that energy work might be good for me in the future. I explained that energy work has never been helpful for me, but she responded that I had simply never experienced her energy work -- similar to how she insisted I would benefit from the calf and stomach work. Overall, I felt like my preferences and boundaries were not really listened to. I simply wanted a straightforward relaxation massage with medium pressure. Because of this experience, I would not return.
