Unlike other companies that tried to give me "satellite guesstimates" or asked for my own measurements, Dennis came out in person and provided a precise estimate. His expertise was obvious, which made choosing them an easy decision. We booked the job for May, and communication leading up to it was excellent--Dennis kept me updated via text and answered all my questions. On the day of the install, the crew realized they needed different equipment and promptly returned the next day to get started. During the excavation, they discovered my irrigation system hadn't been installed deeply enough by the original contractor, resulting in a couple of broken pipes. This forced the crew to hand-dig the old grass out around the lines. Fortunately, Epic Horizons also handles irrigation, so they had everything needed to fix the lines on the spot. While they charged me for the pipe repairs, they didn't charge for the extensive extra labor required for the hand-digging, which I felt was very fair given it wasn't their fault the original lines were too shallow. Once the new sod was laid, they did an immaculate job cleaning up both my property and the street where their equipment had tracked mud. I typically wait to post reviews to see how a company handles post-job follow-up, and Epic Horizons didn't disappoint. When I reached out with questions about a few patches and a separate leak later on, Dennis was quick to respond and offer help. They handle unexpected issues incredibly well, and I highly recommend them. Oh: and our new lawn looks great!!!

Extremely unprofessional work. Helpers were slow and lazy, they didn't even pickup the trimmings…read more The "services" provided were not as we discussed. Cleaning up the weeds in the back was a priority. I cannot touch any of them. They DID NOT pull the larger ones as they said they would - some are growing as high as the top of the cage and there are still potato vines by the shed. They cannot be sprayed as they are growing within the bushes. They have not responded to calls after were paid.. I repeatedly said that I cannot touch any of them and the whole purpose of hiring a landscape service is to do the things I can not do. I could spray the weeds, but can't touch them to remove them. Also, we discussed cleaning up the grass plants around the pool -- I said I did not want them cut down, just the dead stalks removed- they did nothing to them. The areca palms still have many dead fronds near the tops and many healthy cut offs were left on the ground. The cedar tree was NOT "elevated" nor trimmed as discussed on the first visit. The landscape Timbers all around the house were to be completely removed.- We were charged for total removal. On the day of work, it was decided that a few timbers should be left at the corner of the pool where they are acting as part of a retaining wall. THE ENTIRE back of the pool and still has timbers. The front bushes were roughly wacked at an angle. When I requested that it be straightened, which YOU also said you noticed they were crooked, I mentioned that they COULD go as low as the wall. You, "the expert", should have stopped when it was obvious that the wall height was too low. A large gardenia was full enough to trim neatly --it was hardly touched and is very irregular, cutoffs were left on the top of the bush-- no skill at all was used to trim it. The final walk-thru was done when I wasn't home and Richard told my husband that I had approved everything & he demanded payment Response from the owner We did in fact respond to your inquiry regarding your service questions. You and your husband were both present when we reviewed the scope of work to be done at your home, so he was well aware of what was supposed to be completed. During work, You continuously requested additional trimming in areas that had already been completed and in an effort to accommodate your requests, the result you ended up with were bushes that were over-pruned, Which of course you were told this would be the case if they were trimmed how you were demanding it be done. We removed more than 4 full truck loads of debris from your property. All of the weeds which were not hand removed, were treated with an herbicide, per the reviewed scope of work. Once we were complete with the work that was approved, we reviewed everything with your husband John, and he provided payment accordingly. We spent a total of 4 days cleaning up the overgrowth at your unmaintained property and then collected payment for the provided services. You were continuously unpleasant to work with; threatening to contract alternative companies, talking down to staff and insisting on additional services not within the scope of work. We wish the best for you and for future contractors. Reply --- You may have been here on FOUR different days, but only worked a couple hours a day. I never had any conversation with any of the helpers, other than to offer to let him park on the side to shorten the walk between bushes and trailer. Nothing that was "sprayed with herbicide" has shown ANY sign of dying. I repeatedly told you all the weeds needed to be removed-- I am allergic to them and that was the main motivation to hiring you. YOU NEVER ANSWERED any phone calls after you were paid. I need to know what chemical was sprayed.

I soon learned why - so he could jack up the price once he arrived on site. I foolishly accepted. Such an amateur. He and his assistant managed to break my water main and flood my yard. No water in the house for my family all day. Then he dragged the entire downed tree through the mud rather than cutting it up. Broke my rock bed curbing and two water sprinklers and left a huge rut through the yard. He promised to return the same day for the stump grinding and to clean up. That was a lie. He grabbed the check and ran. Left the entire mess for me to fix. Avoid C&P at all costs.
