Hired them to clear my vacant lot and they left an excessive amount of vine roots so have to pay someone to remove and grade before sod is put down. Based on what was charged it should have been included. He does have the right equipment to pull up the vine roots as they started to and then quit. Read your list of what they include on the quote. FYI ... Do not assume. Biggest issue I have is their huge equipment is sitting on my cleared lot for going on two weeks now and the other company I hired to grade and sod can not start until he moves it. Grrrrrr I have called repeatedly and sent an email and they still have not moved this monstrosity, so my project is on hold at his mercy. NOT RIGHT!!! My educated guess is he doesn't have equipment to haul it himself and wants to wait and pay one transport fee to move it to the next job, when and if he gets a job where he needs it. read more

Abysmal job. There is nothing simpler than breathing air, except cutting grass, cutting grass is easier than that and this company can't even do that correctly. If you want your grass filled with patches that are cut to the dirt then this is the company for you! When Nick was asked why he cut the yard so low and how he was going to fix the 43 holes that he scalped he told me to "just put some water on it" and that "it's not a dead body, get over it". Unfortunately for me I invested a pretty penny into new sod about a year ago and I have had nothing but problems working with this company. We hired Nick's company to remove a damaged heritage live oak tree from our property. We live out of state and can not thank him enough for his hard work and fierce tenacity. Not being in the area full time, we were so happy to find Nick. He wrote up the tree risk assessment, provided us with a bid, filled out the mandatory paperwork with the county (due to protected heritage tree issues), applied for the permit and worked with the county above and beyond what I feel the average company would have. This was not an easy case and Nick never lost interest or the desire to get this tree cut down for us. The tree itself was a multi trunked live oak tree with a very large canopy and was around 65 feet tall. On one side was our house and the other side of the tree was growing directly into power lines. His expertise and grade A equipment enabled him to do the job safely and efficiently. He ground all the stumps down well below ground level and actually left the work area in better condition than when he arrived. I cannot say enough good things about Florida Tree and Ground Maintenance. If you find yourself in need of an arborist, call Nick first. He will be the last call you have to make. In today's day and age of half-assed businesses who only want to cut corners and take your money, Nick will pleasantly surprise you. That's not how he operates and will go the extra mile for you. I had an issue with Charlotte County and/or the survey company who mistakenly both deemed a tree on my lot as being a "Heritage Tree". The tree was very tall and being a pine, is both a hazard to our new home construction as well as being a source of dirt, debris, sap on our new home, vehicles, etc. We already have a huge number of enormous trees along the one side of our lot and we are planning on planting new, FL native, species of trees, so we wanted this one pine out. The tree was supposedly measured to be 30" diameter which is the minimum to deem it a Heritage Tree, which would have resulted in it not being able to be removed. The tree did not look to be that size to me so I called Nick at Florida Tree to do an independent assessment. The tree was covered in vines and was obvious that nobody took the time to cut away the vines to access the tree to verify the real dimensions of it. Nick immediately sent out a crew to do just that thing. Measured as not even being 21 inches! Not even close to the claimed 30". Nick even followed up with a call to my contractor, and another call to the County to make sure that the tree would NOT be deemed a Heritage Tree, that it could indeed be removed, and also that it would not result in delays since the County was at least partially at fault because the person who did their site visit obviously did not measure the tree. Nick also followed up with me to make sure the situation was resolved and asked if there was anything else he could do to help. He did NOT try to upsell me to allow him to take out the tree. He actually advised me to have the excavation company who was clearing the lot for the builder to do the job because it would cost a fraction to do so at this stage rather than doing it after the fact with him or someone else. If you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, prompt, decisive, tough, able to get the job done, I would recommend Nick from Florida Tree. I am very pleased with the results. read more

My contract with this company was for $900 worth of sod to be installed. Today almost 2 months later I do not have an install date. Today I call to be informed there is a problem with my dirt? What a croc of crap. Are they trying to squirm out of the job? Probably. Don't waste your time in them. read more
