Absolutely love the Equestrian Center!! I have been boarding here off and on since I was 12 and…read morethrough college and multiple horses. The new fly system is incredible, there are plenty of arenas to ride in no matter your discipline, and the grounds are very well kept. There are several turnouts available to use for your horses, they will deliver feed and bedding if needed, and a great structure to hold manure until it can be hauled off. I love being able to watch all the teams practice once school begins and there are so many different disciplines showcased at this facility. As a fence rider, they are always willing to work with me to help me prepare for large events if needed. Staff is always great and friendly. One thing I do love is the level of care your horse receives is completely up to you. The beauty of partial care boarding is that you get to take care of your horse the way you want to. Wonderful facility and wonderful people!

They drove a tractor into the turnout multiple times with my horse and several others still in it, deathly scaring him and causing minor injuries. And they recently cut down all of the turnout sizes drastically, completely defeating the purpose of a true turnout (creating space for a horse to run and play safely and effectively). This is confusing when there is a HUGE GREEN turnout on the grounds that could be utilized for more than 2 horses. They've treated anyone that tries to bring new ideas that vary from their own to the table terribly; going on to expeditiously bring the animal science department in and making false accusations to attempt ruining his or her professional name. They are a facility set in their ways and in no way looking towards progress in structure or the day to day running. Cleanliness is unknown at this location, with animal wastes being discarded monthly and fly repellant never being sprayed when promised. Hundreds to thousands of dollars tack would go missing for periods of time or all together. I never believed it was possible here in Lubbock to be at a facility where you aren't drowned in dirt and dust every time you step foot into a barn. But I now know that it is possible once I moved stables. It is crookedly run by a young, inexperienced barn manager who is only looking for her own best interest. It may be okay to board here a night or two for a show, but don't stay long because people running their horses around the facility on cement leads often to injury of your stalled or turned out horses and summer sores are very common.

Our server was very attentive and cheery. They have a very large two level dining area. The steaks are grilled in plain sight in front of the stage where the world famous 72 oz steak challenge takes place. They bring out fresh baked rolls with your meal. The half order of fried mushrooms was great. My son enjoyed his two 5 oz steak filets, my wife was very pleased with her Prime Rib. I was disappointed with my rib eye, I had to trim off too much fat. The desert was delicious. Overall, don't expect a steak you would be served at a fine steakhouse, but definitely give the Steak Ranch a visit.

We ended up ordering the 1/2 lb Cheeseburger w Mac & Cheese & the 10 ounce Prime Rib w a side Caesar Salad. As mentioned above everything was absolutely fantastic! Our server, Estefania, did an excellent job of taking care of us despite it being a full house & the prices were more than fair ( 2 Entrees, 2 sides & 3 Cocktails ) for $ 100.37. We liked everything so much we came back for Breakfast the following morning & that was terrific as well. The Big Texan is far more than just the novelty of the 72 ounce Steak challenge, it's the total package. Next time we find ourselves in Amarillo we will absolutely have Dinner here again. Thank you Big Texan for such a memorable experience!

While, we're attempting to set up our slide show, somehow we found out they didn't have us down to eat until 730p. I was very specific on how I wanted to work the evening. Dinner first,, then festivities afterwards. Although they tried to work with us, we had to wait over an hour before we could eat. I also paid to have a cash bar with very specific alchohol and there was one missing. I spent a bundle on this evening and am disappointed. Unlikely, I will use this venue again.

There is hardly anything in their contract to hold them to after the fact, and to much was told to me verbally that I had to fight them on a week before my venue when everything was brought up along with addressing what happened after to the owner and Tori. This venue gets 5 stars when it comes to outdoor beauty in Lubbock, I'll give it that. The food was also really good and our rehearsal dinner was perfect. Although, the kids buffet was never served during the reception. But wedding venue staff 0/1 star. Hopefully they have changed their documents since dealing with me but let me address my experience. The bridal suite Mimosa bar is not complimentary like I was told and the brochure made it out to be. (Had a video thankfully catching that a Mimosa bar would be provided day of) Were only given 2 bottles after sending that video to them. It was asked while touring if food prices would change when it came close to the wedding. We were told no and what food/alcohol prices we had in our brochure was final. Well boom, fight begins 2 weeks before the wedding about price changes in the invoice but we were never notified. Thank goodness for emails, it was discovered nothing was ever sent to us regarding a change in price. Even though we were told verbally this wouldn't take place. Do not expect Tori to be present the day of the wedding like they tell you she will be. Couldn't even tell you what she was wearing that day because I never saw her and my dad only saw her twice within the 8am-11pm time frame. GET A WEDDING PLANNER. Water ran out for over an hour during the reception, she was no where to be found. For 100+ people, they only had 3 people working that wedding. The bar tender was extremely rude to our guests, Tori was no where to be found to address it so my family had to step in and address the attitude. They started serving the food before me and my husband even did our reception entrance and before the set serving time. Tori was never to be found for that either. The day of, rain happened out of no where. We were told the seats would be wiped down. One guy went out there right before the ceremony with only 2 towels for 115 chairs, guest still ended up soaked. If you choose champagne as an alcohol option for the bar, make sure to note that you actually want that served through the night. Other wise, you're going to pay for champagne that will not be offered because they automatically assume you are only using it for a toast even though it was never once discussed that it was to be used for that when we had a bar full of other selections as well. Make sure parking is addressed because we had the pavilion package but other people rented out the house across the water that was apart of a funeral service. People were parking by our bridal suite and walking across the waterway DURING the ceremony. Lovely right?! As for the bar cups, I highly recommend supplying your own because what they provided, Dollar Tree could have had better quality. They crumbled just with a light touch. Last, do not plan to get a good nights sleep in the bed in the bridal suite. One small wiggle and that whole bed shakes and creeks.
