So when I walked into Fovaama Rugs and Carpets in Scarsdale, NY, with an urgent need -- an 8-foot round rug for one of our toddler classrooms, needed right away -- I wasn't sure what to expect. We were in the final stretch of preparing for the new school year, with our new families arriving this week to meet their teacher and tour the classroom before their little ones begin. From the moment I arrived, the owner welcomed me with genuine warmth and immediate, professional attention. Just four hours later, I left with a beautiful 8-foot carpet for our circle area -- the heart of a Montessori classroom, where children gather each day. Our staff was overjoyed, and it looks absolutely beautiful in the room. I had come in simply looking for something modern, durable, and easy to clean, but I was genuinely moved by the artistry all around me -- stunning oriental, hand-knotted, and hand-woven rugs, a remarkable collection of Persian pieces, and flooring of every kind. What stayed with me most, though, was how it felt to be cared for by someone who clearly takes such pride in their work. Working with the owner was an absolute pleasure. It's rare to find a business that combines this level of craftsmanship with such kindness and integrity. I wholeheartedly recommend this family-owned and family-run business -- and I'll be returning for years to come. Write a message...

The man who came to our apartment to take all of the measurements couldn't have appeared less excited to do this job. When we later received the quote by email, they did not provide the quote that we requested. They quoted only one job -- the price for installing vinyl tile in the kitchen. We thought that was very odd. We would have been happy to work with and support a local company but they didn't really seem interested in the work. Maybe the job was a bit too small for them. We ended up getting our tile work done instead by a great contractor from Stamford!
