We had wanted to do some upgrading of our own and contacted FHF to do our entire first floor: parlor, dining room, half bath, and large open kitchen family room area. We are talking about a 1000 square feet over all. The only area that had hardwood flooring originally was the foyer which we had them refinish. The floors look great. The crews were all completely professional and the project manager, Juliano, wants to make sure you are satisfied with the job. They ask for half of the cost up front with the remainder due when the job is complete and you are satisfied. You do have to live with a lot of inconvenience during the process. Primarily dust, a lot of dust, noise, and odor from the sealing. You need to move your smaller items out but their crew will remove your larger furniture pieces. Good time to have at least a two car garage. And they do put you large pieces back when finished. Overall this was well worth the money, time, and inconvenience.

Even now, we think they did an outstanding job laying new hardwood and sanding. However, 1 year later the floors were showing a lot of wear after supposedly using 3 coats of Duraseal oil based polyurethane. 4 years later we now have to refinish our floors. In multiple areas the color has completely worn away and in some other areas it's peeling. I even reached out to Duraseal to find out if this lack of durability is expected. They told me that it's possible if they didn't apply enough layers, didn't give it enough time to dry between layers, or applied it too thin or thick. Since we were not living at the house when the work was done we couldn't monitor this. Since they were sloppy enough to dent our new floor with cans, they could've been sloppy applying Duraseal. The companies coming in to quote us to refinish our floors are flabbergasted at the amount of wear in such a short period of time. Every vendor said it looks like they didn't apply enough coats. I'm not sure what the actual reasoning is. Hardwood Guys had competitive pricing. However, it cost us more in the long run. Now, we have to pay a second time, deal with dust, VOCs, and smell, in addition to being displaced with a young child to redo the work that should've been done properly in the first place.

Well the finished rooms look brand new now ... the detail of the wood is beautiful. The entire process of dealing with this company was top notch professional from the initial home visit consultation to the actual job itself. The 2 workers sent to the house were so amazing: respectful, presentable, hardworking and very good at their job. They plastic covered everything and advised me how best to set the A/C and windows for maximum drying. They came several days in a row and were easy to deal with regarding scheduling. Lastly, their price was super! No wonder the Property Brothers like this company. I will definitely use them again for future projects.

Mike and his team's attention to detail was incredible, and their communication was outstanding. We knew exactly what to expect, including how long the job would take, what type of products we should use to care for the floor, etc. They did a great job keeping the rest of my house clean (not an easy task during a project like this) and they made sure we were completely happy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mike and his team.

My wife and I built our house in 2010 with select oak floors throughout the house. However, the oak…read morefloor finish wore out (mostly in the kitchen) within two years. Since then, we refinished the floor three times with two different companies, but the result got worse and worse, with dirt trapped under the finish, worn areas becoming bigger, and the overall look of the floor has become "dead" with all the beauty of the oak gone. This summer we decided to redo the floor again and I (very fortuitously) found Mike Callahan of Callahan Brothers. That was the beginning of a very smooth "sailing" to perfect floors and more. Mike came to look at the floors and I told him of several other issues we had in the house. For example, we had problems with rain missing the gutters and getting into the house because of the solar panels on the roof. Mike recommended an outstanding gutter company and suggested what needs to be done (install 6" gutters) which completely fixed the problem. Then, Mike suggested a company that packed and moved our furniture out of the house and a painter who repaired the trims after the floor work and did some other repairs. And now to the central issue of how Mike transformed our floors. His crew under the foreman Carlos covered everything in the house with sheets, sanded the floors and stairs, and worked with us to select the stain color that we liked the most. The result was magnificent. The floors came alive like I have never seen before. On top of that, the crew left the house clean and ready to move back in

They did a gut renovation to our kitchen during the pandemic. Which was not an easy task. They transformed our dated galley kitchen into an absolutely beautiful, more functional kitchen. There was a manufacturer issue with the cabinets & they contacted them immediately. Then came to our home with someone from the manufacturer to point out the issues & make sure they were resolved. And this was after we paid them in full. Fast forward to today & they came to our home to resolve an issue with one of the cabinet pulls within 24 hours of calling them to explain what happened. Which we truly appreciated because most other companies may not have done that. As I said, they are a rare find.
